In most PvE action, there are more than 1 mob attacking you. Even when fighting subject alpha, there are some small mobs attacking as well. Also, D/D highest damage come from backstab, it is much harder to striking a mob’s back than a player. In addition, to perform a backstab, you need to enter stealth. However most boss have great AoE. Even they are not targeting you, they can hit you as well. Stealth just doesn’t provide much good when PvE. On the other hand, sword not only provide AoE, but also has overall higher damage auto attack.
My point is a good player should be able to adopt different situation and use the best weapon of choice according to that situation.
If you are talking about fun, thief is by far the most fun class I played in gw2.
D/D is mostly a singly target weapon and don’t expect it to be good in most pve action. But when fighting against players, it is super fun and requires tons of skill.
Also S/D has good damage IMO. Just the auto attack itself can hit a 3k-5k damage on the 3rd strike against subject alpha in CoE. ( and I don’t ever remember my warrior can do something close)
Indeed thief need more support from teammate to make them effective, but once you got some nice buddies, thief can be good too.
For SB, I always miss cluster bomb when I am using other class. There is no other way in game stack might faster than cluster bomb on fire field. 20+might in less than 5 sec when someone provide fire field. I am sure no warrior can ever do that.
My point : indeed warrior is good in many ways and is easy to play. But thief is not as useless as you think, you just need more skill and some buddies.
New outfit with new hair. The first time my character actually looks like asian !! love it
Initiative regen is a good approach imo
I don’t understand why should Infiltrator’s Return should has a cast time.
Thieves are only limited to 1 stability skill (elite) and only a few stun break from utility (which have relatively long CD). Thieves are so defensive limited (I know, thieve are not suppose to be at the defensive end), but it is now so challenging to keep ourselves survive. the cast time will just make thieves so vulnerable to other class’ CC (e.g. war’s hammer, mace, Ele’s dagger #4 earth#4, Guard’s GS #5, engin’s shield pull, elite drop and so). You don’t even give us a chance to withdraw from those situation ? (And as I remember, mesmer staff #2 can blink away very quick also)
With just so much armor and health to start with, stealth, dodge, and stunbreak are our only way to survive.
Suggestion: Even if you want thieves to be (attackable) while stunned. I don’t mind the stun is still effective after we used Infiltrator’s Return (at least we can re-position ourselves), but it would be a problem if other class can just CC us and spam damage on the same location and drop us fast.
On the other hand, i am happy to see some fix on teleport stomp( it lets down #2 for any class to be effective and interrupt the stomp)
Suggestion: How about making stomp stop when ppl use teleport.
I am a 1h sword user together with a shield and GS as secondary weapon. I found that ZD is a good skill even though it root you in a place. It’s good against BS thieves and GS warrior . Attract them into melee range, block or evade BS or 1000 blades, than ZD can deal some damage. It’s also good to chasing down runaway enemies using the flashing blade. The down side is that the range of the sword is a little bit not enough.

I would like to see the followings
Weapon: Lance, Whips
race: something new such as Elf ( somewhere between the height of human and asura)
Other: more weapon skins for lower level weapons, some more hairstyle for sylvari, human, and Norns. Also please give us a choice on how the character sounds, they need more variety than all population of a gender in the same race using the same voice. (by just saying I want a cute sound for my human female character)
