I want to help out more when I play WvW by dropping feasts. Which food do people think is the best for this?
I’m surprised more people don’t go to Ember Bay to farm them; Skritt stashes have a pretty high chance to drop a random doubloon.
I’ve got jewelcraft, artificer, leatherworker, and cooking maxed. When I want the others, I’ll spend 10 minutes on the TP and max it, since, you know, that’s all it takes.
I’m not crazy about crafting either, but it’s such an insignificant part of my play time it hardly matters.
As it turns out, both of you were correct, both the new driver and overheating were the problem. Rolled back the driver, blew out my CPU fan with compressed air, and it runs like a dream. Thanks!
Update: I checked my GPU drivers, and realized they hadn’t been updated in a while. I downloaded and installed the latest ones (I have an Nvidia GTX 970). So far no crashes, but my frame rate has absolutely tanked. I went from having ~50fps in Lion’s Arch to less than 20.
Twice so far today, I’ve had my computer crash randomly while playing. Once while running towards the dominator boss in Ember Bay, once while running down the steps in the lobby of WvW. Total system lock, screen goes black, Ctrl+Alt+del or similar functions do nothing. Had to restart.
You are deliberately missing the point. People shouldn’t be forced to buy mats off the TP to get what they need in a reasonable time frame.
I actually disagree with this. The trading post should always be the most effective way to get the things you want.
A big draw of this game is “Play your own way”, and the trading post is the backbone of that philosophy. The fact that virtually everything in the game rewards sellable loot, and most things can be bought with coin, means that you can get practically anything you want by doing practically anything you want. Structuring the game around the TP is deliberate, and I would say, necessary.
Can’t believe someone can’t acquire 200 thick sections a day. Oh that’s right, lets not spend any coin to get what you need.
People like getting direct rewards for actions performed in game. It’s much more satisfying to slay a monster for what you need than to RP a lumberjack and trade logs for it instead.
This isn’t a hard concept to understand.
You do get loot for killing things, though. Events, Bosses, Fractals, dungeons, and all kinds of heroic stuff gives you loot to sell. In fact, just about any activity in this game does.
Its not that its an anathema, its the fact that we shouldn’t have to buy mats from the TP to craft a legendary. That’s the whole point. For a lot of stuff, even just medium ascended armor, you have to either buy it from the TP or spend months farming leather to get enough, and that is just absurd that we are put in a position like that.
I do agree that the lodestones was a poor example, but leather is not. For how many uses it has, and for how much you need, it should be something that you can farm yourself from nodes, but you can’t. We shouldn’t have to buy it off the TP, yet we do
This is a bizarre argument. Why shouldn’t you have to buy things off the TP? The entire game is centered around it, and has been from the beginning. It’s an integral component of the game.
I wouldn’t worry about Mystic coins, no one looking to make money with an ounce of economic sense is going to hoard them. They dropped a legendary into the game that requires 250 of the things, and the price still didn’t jump much.
Honestly, the only thing that annoys me about the HoM achievements is the fact that 500 AP is gated behind them. You can keep your skins and titles, I want a way to get that AP.
And for the record, this is coming from someone who bought and played GW1 and the first 2 expansions, but I got nothing because apparently I didn’t support the game for the very specific window of time required for these rewards.
I don’t understand this forum at all. When they nerfed Chest farming by ~40%, no one batted an eye. They trim one reward off a single event, and people flip out.
I have the same issue. I was actually able to harvest the tree in my home a single time when I got it, but it never respawned.
