Is PvP gear crafted at the Mystic Forge purely for aesthetics? Does higher-quality rank chests only yield ‘cooler’ looking gear? Are there trinkets other than amulets that I can acquire? (In general, is there any way to progress my stats after having allocated my preferred sigils and runes in my starter gear?)

Just bought the game. Trying to name my character. Everything I type in (even jibberish) is either taken or I’ve “exceeded my new character limit” ankittenold to wait.
