-Sword auto attack gets reflected regularly (not sure why there would be a projectile with a melee weapon auto but whatever)

yes, forgot to mention that in my review – very, very annoying.

constructive feedback about revenant BW3:

game modes: pvp / wvw
builds: sword/shield; sword/ axe; staff; sword/sword; hammer; mace/axe etc.
time spent playing revnant: 6-7hrs

feedback:

- NO CONDI CLEAR – apparently “soothing stone” is supposed to condi clear but it doesnt – assume has a bug, and no, condi resist is not the same as clear. If you think it is please by all means go out and try to 1v1 a d/d ele. If soothing stone actually cleared conditions then it would at least be an option but as is the revenant doesnt add much to a party

- the Mallyx skill set needs work – a 2 sec resist isn’t worth much and the “empowering misery” heal doesn’t do anything about the condi’s that are killing you in the first place. What good does it do to heal more if you’re still going to have 12 stacks of burn hitting you after the heal?

- in pvp / wvw the lack of condi clear forces you to put a lot more into survivabiltiy vs anything you might actually want to play (like zerker or condi) and also forces the use of dwarf stance for the heal / toughness skills. The problem is that all the weapon skills, even staff, are very offensive oriented and play well for a thief / zerker role, but since you have to give up so much just to have a chance of surviving a condi attack you end up as a weak combat support role.

- shocking that ventari skills dont condi clear either

you guys really have to get the condi weakness issue fixed before released or this class in doa.

whatever you do, don’t force log out – then you wont be able to get back into that game mode with any character. I was stuck in spvp map and exited to desktop to escape – now I cant pvp at all

this is an important observation that I would have missed if not for playing tempest so long:

THE TEMPEST BUILD / WARHORN HAS NO RANGE CLOSING SKILL = OWNED BY RANGE ATTACKS

this is a critical flaw that will undoubtedly get exploited soon after release – please fix

feedback:

MUCH improved! few remaining changes that are really, really necessary before release:

- remove line targeting from air skill 5; makes it completely useless – needs to work like water skill 5. To survive as an ele you have to constantly move and circle, which makes line targeting not work for ele’s. Water skill 5 works well because you’re moving anyway and it sets up nicely for a comeback with fire 3

- shouts still aren’t worth a skill slot because the effects don’t last long enough. Need 6 1/2 sec on the buffs like cantrips. The damage is actually a nice addition, but ele’s only survive by stacking buffs and losing 1 1/2 sec is just too much to give up for a condi I’m going to apply with weapons anyway

- fire skill 5 doesn’t do enough damage to make it worthwhile – nice combo with air 4, but it doesn’t work because fire 5 is so weak. needs more stacks of burn than just 2 or more outright damage. compare to dagger 5 – we’re just giving up too much.

- the overloads are so much better than last time, thanks for listening

- the knockback on water skill 4 is too slow, we give up a lot of self healing for the tempest build and need water 4 to push the enemies off us, but by the time the skill gets off you’re dead. The cast time is about right at 1/4 sec, but there is a long lag between cast and actual knockback – I guess because it starts behind us? Anyway its very frustrating and really, really needs to get fixed

- water 5 is fun and actually works REALLY WELL with the ele’s play style but kind of like the other 5 slot skills, not powerful enough to replace what you give up from other skill sets. compare to dagger 5

Ok after testing, healing druid is completely worthless in pvp.

Secondly, even with the movespeed bonus from traited druid skill, in addition to the signet for 25% more speed…. Reapers are outrunning you easily

What the hell…

First comment, completly worthless feedback.

Second comment – First of all, movement speed bonus don’t stack. Secondly, if you’re at swiftness speed, how the heck can reapers outrun you??

1. reapers outrun druid- its a fact

2. not worthless feedback, its actually completely accurate feedback

Constructive criticism:

- staff 3 skill is ridiculous. I’m pretty sure you’re trolling us with this one, and if not, its a good example of needing to actually play the game. At no time, in no instance, is the ranger ever a good close-in class. Even condi ranger just gets by close-in and is consistently outperformed by the real close-in classes. So why would you make a skill that’s only purpose is to close the gap? What on earth did you think the ranger would do once it got there? Use sword 3? then what – switch back to healing? it’s ridiculous. I can only assume you meant for staff 3 to be used with the glyphs, but since the glyphs are useless its not viable in any way. You dev’s should really try playing the actual game sometime.

- 60% of the staff skills need targeting…60%..really? As if the skills weren’t barely useful enough you also have to point them towards the target?

- staff 1 skill was a good idea, just give it a condi or improve the damage and its functional

- staff skill 5 would be fine if you didn’t have to target it or if the targeting was more like ground targeting instead of the line

- celestial avatar staff skill 1 is equally depressing – you have to ground target it each time with a sub second cool down and it has minimal effect? Again, you should really try actually playing the game sometime

- the glyphs..I tried using them at opportune moments in pvp, tried in pve, in wvw, in dungeons…I still have no idea what good they are. it’s kind of ironic – there’s all these staff skills that are hindered by ground targeting yet the one new addition that actually needs ground targeting and you made it aoe around the caster. There is nothing redeeming about the glyphs – total rework.

A few comments limited to pvp and wvw since that’s what I play:

- air skill 5 has no purpose ; air overall is so weak, even the overload is weak and sad.

- water skills are livable

- I can see what you were going for with fire skill 4, not terribly useful but could be devastating with practice in spvp

- perhaps you aren’t listening because the community said in in bw1 and I see a lot of posts saying it again here..THE OVERLOADS ARE TOO EASY TO INTERRUPT WHICH MAKES THEM USELESS

- overall the tempest feels very very weak compared to other ele builds so, while it might be fun in mindless pve, it’s disappointing for the rest of us.

tempest warhorn ability in a nutshell:

bad:
range of air ‘4’ key ability much too short to be of use
‘4’ key ability of fire and earth of dubious value
water tempest ability useful, but out of place with overall tempest design of sit still and hope
the overloads are ridiculous; less dmg than normal attacks and easy to interrupt – either from self swap or other attacking

good:
not too far off – improve the damage and range, make the ‘4’ skill worth casting, and allow swapping atunement in overload and you’d have something

overall:
makes me wonder if the tempest designer actually plays an ele irl… entire build out of place with how an ele stays alive in pvp

revenant good points:

- lots of fun combo potentials
- pretty animations
- not stuck with a single “meta” build; plenty of variety
- generally fun to play

revenant bad points:

- the staff..is terrible – just terrible
- sooo slooowww.. more often than not your downed before you can even get the first skill off
- the same weapon for each legendary stance prevents realizing potential of stance differences
- did I mention how terrible the staff is? really, it’s the worst MMO attack set ever conceived
