Guild Wars 2

I think you’ll find that we from Rawr will happily fight tooth and nail in the field. Patricide hits the nail on the head. I have limited time to play. I want to roll out with the guild, throw down some coordinated carnage with the boys and girls of Rawr, and have fun doing it. We don’t run from fights. If we get rolled we analyze it and work to correct it. We have coordinated teams inside of our guild. You might see a mob of Rawr coming at you but believe me when i tell you that at least half of that “zerg” has a specific plan. Our commanders are some of the best and well respected.
For us to go off and go 10v10 sure you’ll probably win, we don’t play that game. We’re there for the war. Plain and simple. Play the way you do Archer. Its your style and you obviously enjoy it, we do.

SBI, I forbid you from quitting. We want you to bring the fight where ever you can. This is the first week that we havent had a very unbalanced match in about 3 weeks. The fights we’ve had so far in SBI BL have been great. keep bringin it.

Yaks, good to see you guys out and having fun again. Your moving well, and have great response times. I for one am very happy to see everyone in a good mood, not just by having a point lead but because we have a good match up this week.

Well, I’m going to “apologize” in advance to CD and SBI. I’ve had a crap day at work so you are just gonna have to die. That being said have fun this week. hopefully its a good steady week for everyone so we can get our WvW grooves back on.

Well, I do actually wonder if all the niceties and sportsmanship will be present if the scores had been closer, and the match had been tighter?

Have to see if YB and SBI going to be nice to us next week I guess?

I know "for the most part " Yaks try to be respectful. We try very hard to respect our foes and not fall prey to trolls. Doesnt always work that way but we try. I believe many of our former opponents who we’ve had very tight matches with walked away, won or lost,with our respect. Give us a great fight and we’ll say " Thank you sir may I have another?"
If we get a tight race you’ll see a YB server that fights all week. Not the showwoings that the last 2 weeks have brought out. We don’t like getting spawn camped anymore than anyone else. That being said, Kaineg, good luck in the upper tiers. I hope its not a nasty wake up call. I hope you guys are more than the 50 strong zerg server because up there that just won’t fly. All we really saw all week was an overpopulated Zerg due to the drastic population differences after your night crew painted the map. Remember Day 1 of this weeks fight. Be ready for that 24/7 in those higher tiers. Good luck guys

As a YB player I feel that some things need clearing up…

Many of us aren’t going run ourselves against Mag the way they are. They are NOT the same Maguuma server we fought hard a few weeks back. This next few weeks will likely be spent levelling alts, running trains, making cash for once the servers balance out again.
This being a competitive match ended when Mag fill all 4 maps and IoJ lost so many guilds. I do feel bad for Mags cause this week has to suck its so boring. Those times YB had these matches we were bored out of our minds.
Its likely to take about a month for the Tiers to balance out again as those that got a huge influx bump up and those that lost move down. Until that time WvW is broken pretty badly. We are preaching patience to our populace to hold them together so we don’t have bandwagon jumpers. Until the paid transfers go through though anything could happen. We could have the same influx of people. I personally (much Like Mag) would prefer to keep things the same here on YB. We have a great community and I would hate to see that damaged by a bunch of people who don’t respect that.

Just a few thoughts worth about 2 cents

One question the burns me is off peak PvDoor in our hard fought WvW’s. Is there a possiblility that once “X” server reach a low percentage of players compared to their foes that guards could be made to spawn and use the seiges available in towers and keeps?

It is very disheartening when we put heart, soul, blood, and gold into the day only to go to bed and see that our enemy has killed our doors and eaten free points all night to work past us. I realize that every server has different “strong” times but when you have a well matched threesome that completely unbalances at night people don’t like to come back. If it were made even a little more challenging than killing doors then you might see the servers balance a little more.

Let me say this though as well. I had a great time last night. The fights were fun. When its not WvDoor there have been fantastic fights all round from both DB and EB. Some very challenging seiges. It just pisses me off to see all the hard efforts of everyone go to hell because we went to bed

Gotta say that i’m getting pretty disheartened with the whole pvdoor scenario. last night before i crashed we had DB and EB solidly behind us. Much gold and effort were put in to upgrade what we had. I put 3g into our war effort on my own last night, so i can only imagine what our commanders sank into it. I know this happens to DB and EB on their off hours but this is BS. Some form of solution needs to be figured out when a servers population goes to bed. Having npc gaurds that would man seiges, programmed to attack the enemy couldn’t be that hard. Anything to slow down the destruction of everyones efforts. When I went to bed Anza had fully upgraded walls and was upgrading mortars. That door must have put up a hell of a fight.

1st – dont chase them there to die while they laugh.
2nd- don’t do it
3rd- see above
4th- Lysico doesn’t speak for our server. Neither do I. So don’t hold it against our server when angry people post angry thoughts.

If these guy like to hang out farming kills by staying invuln then let them sit there waiting for people to never come back to them. Keeps them out of important places where they might be needed…

I’m from Yaks Bend at its awesome to see the love showwing. We have had some incredible opponents the last few months. One match up however still holds in my mind. Early in the opening of the week long battles we ran into SoR and NSP. That battle was tough. It was a close as you could get. Everyone involved had no idea who was going to win it. props to everyone involved there.
TC I hope your rise continues. You guys have skills. We may have petered off by the end of our 3rd week in that matching but those that stayed in the fight hold some healthy respect for you guys and we WILL be knockin down your doors again one day.
My vote however goes to a more recent matchup. Maguuma has been a treat. So much fun to fight against them. The Grub was frickin hilarious. You guys have made it a great fight the last couple of weeks in T4.

I can’t wait till all of the teams are at full strength after the holidays. I think that we’ll see a more accurate point score when all the teams are firing on all cyllinders again. Just from a YB perspective we are down a lot of players because of the holidays. I imagine that the other 2 servers are in a similar boat.

As for any exploits, don’t judge the server, report the idiot who’s doing it. As a YB player I recall our commanders returning Orbs taken by exploit and allowing Keeps/towers taken the same way to be retaken. As a server we try to play honorably, but there will always be some jerk who will cheat. Our commanders don’t use spy intell , they will purposfully go a different route rather than be cheap.

I have seen some great pvp this week. To me it looks like DB is in the same situation as we were a few months ago. If they can get a solid NA presence they’re gonna be dangerous. Mag’s have been tough since we first ran into them. Those dirty little golems of theirs… The straight up battles have been intense from both sides and I’d love another week of fighting you both so we can have a solid full strength fight.

The Zerg was used on Dday against a fortified defensive beachhead. it took massive coordination to achieve. Sometimes its the tactic of necessity.
When we as a guild run a zerg, we take something, We use those of the zerg that listen to run supplies to build seiges, upgrades etc. while thats happening the zerg moves onward. We see the Zerg as support for those that put out offensive seige, attack defensive seige, and move to intercept ememy zergs.
We also use the main Zerg force as a huge distraction by having one of our commanders lead it to a enemy keep and having 2-3 spec forces go out and take key locations. Sometimes we even get it all. bonus for us

might be interesting to have “Captains of the Gaurd” that have to be taken out at certain points before moving to the middle room. there is a ton of empty space in SM that could be used for it.

So (GODS) is currently split between TC and FA? You can’t tell me that there isn’t some collusion going on here at this point. I seriously doubt that these people aren’t in the same TS, VENT or whatever and working together giving intell on whats defended and whats not. Call it conspiracy theory or what ever but it seems a tad on the smelly side. Especially with all the talk about going to T2 next. maybe its been arranged?

I was the guy on the oil. i got a lots of bags. 16 badges, lots of heavy loots and a rare. but the best part about it was the sheer amount of numbers on my screen. The first person you see on the path was in my guild. She started going off in TS about some huge Golem army and I went right to the oil, not once expecting to use it. good times lol

Yak here. I came to this server after leaving WOW. A bunch of RL friend formed a guild that we’ve carried with us since Asheron’s Call. Most of those guys went back for Panda Power and I joined OF. Since then I’ve found the community in YB to be class acts and rather tight knit. We take pride in our pvp. We don’t give up. If we’re getting rolled you’ll still find people trying to snake a tower in a BL when no one is looking. I first ran into OF on the field while defending a tower. Just after Anet made me change my name. Apparently “Pelvicthruster” doesn’t make everyone laugh.
With a stronger night presence this server could be very strong. If you choose to come here you will find a warm welcome by being bathed in the blood of your enemies and feasting on the tears of those who cry about JPs and getting ganked.

Yak here. We don’t hold FA in disdain. Just those who post here crying about getting 2v1’d. its called a 3some. Most red blooded males want one at some point. on a more serious note…
Sound tactics would say that while an enemy has its resources tied up elsewhere it might be prudent to attack their flanks. It happens to you, it happens to us, it happens to TC. You have done it just as much. We don’t cry about it ( in general) but some always will. They’re the same people who cry when they get ganked doing a JP in the middle of a WvWvW zone.

like i said, too bad you guys didnt have a solid push with those golems. when we found them at rogues i was really looking forward/dreading when they would come out. 5 minutes after they died we pushed a golem assault out of Anz and then one from FA at SMshortly after. tough night for golems. i think there was one at Anz from FA that died horribly at the gate as well

I hope they were after us. that would make life entertaining

i’ll tell you when we first discovered those at Rogues we knew there was gonna be a mess. too bad you guys had the wrong people on em. I was on the oil pot and man the numbers that came up

YB here. Great fight so far this week everyone. I see all these posts about people helpin each other in the JPs and people ganking in the JPs. My 2 cents…

If you come into a pvp area, expect pvp. It gonna happen. Find enough people to help you battle through or take your chances on your own. If its in a viable pvp area expect pvp to happen spontaneously. You take your chances just like everyone else.

Sure it rotten to get ganked right at the end or something but you put youself there. I probably would wait to kill you myself until after you were done but a lot of people see it as another pvp objective. ANet put these JPs in our pvp areas so I would expect pvp to occur.

Scores are just there to place servers in the teirs. the real fun comes from the intense battles we all enjoy. Yaks has made a lot of effort to improve our coverage on off peak times. We’ve been in this boat and been stomped at night. We had to adapt to that or find ourselves sitting here and complaining about night capping. This is a 24hr battle , days a week. Please don’t give up, you guys fight hard. We at Yak’s enjoy the challenge of a strong back and forth battle and encourage you all to fight just as hard as you did opening night.

Tonight was good fun. Yaks had great movement across our own borderland tonight, culminating in us owning our map by the end of it. We had some GREAT fights tonight. Score not withstanding, these servers are very well matched in attack/counter attack, swift movement changes and all round great leadership. Just as a shout out, I’d like to thank all of Yaks commanders for their patience, leadership and collectivce organization.
Good luck for the rest of this weeks battles and good luck against your next opponents. Its been a pleasure doing battle against you guys CD and DH.

I wont go through and read all these posts so if i’m repeating , my apologies. Why not place NPC soldiers at the guns so to speak. Base the numbers on how many are in the WvW on all 3 teams. Use them to defend the points. Have them on cannons, carts, etc. Make it so that they slow down the night caps. As more people join for the teams that need them they go away as they die. It would give a semblance of defense rather than one team steamrolling the others at night because their server is in a different TZ.
