4 Gameplay and Meta: I always wondered why can’t I play a dragon hunter (with bow) condition damage? Simple because statistics and abilities of weapon won’t allow it: I’ll do an example to be more clear about what I mean: If you want to treat with the guardian (I’ll take it under consideration coz’ it’s my main character): you must have Staff/Mace and focus. But if I wanted to do crowd control with those weapons can’t because none of the skill of weapons do that.
Solution: it would enought for each weapon for each class (elite specialization included) gave you a roster of exchangeable abilities that allows you to do pretty much everything with the weapons you want. I know PvP would be a mess if this thing was real but you know what? Separate the PvP than PvE skills (this includes having a team that deals only with the pvp and I think arenanet has already). The statistics then: why do I have to gear me to make any content: either viper or berserker or marauder if I want to do damage, and I cannot for example gear me full tank/healer? Answer: healing power and toughness are almost useless, because or enemies explode even before you fight them or just laugh in your face and explode the party. Gw2 was the game that promised everyone can do everything but it seems to me that is not so true at the bottom. The raid is the only content that I saw being done well that requires organization and ability to know what you are doing with your class, but why the need of certain classes for complete that? ( example Chronomancer)
5 Crafting. A rince and repeat of farming , which makes sense since we speak of crafting but this should give you the chance to get money and instead is a major reason spending (I have already mentioned the fractal and the ascended, right?). Not to mention about leathers and cloth which are a nightmare to drop. could we just have a the possibility to harvest some from some animals or plants? ( jute and cotton, wool for example)
6 RPG: I state that I know to talk to that little slice of players from this wonderful community who do roleplay, but I had to smile when I saw the list in the LFG regarding Roleplay, only to then think to myself: Yes but the game doesn’t allow much interaction in this sense. I mean: we have the chairs but we couldn’t sit on it, we cannot exchange items if not by mail (this is not a problem but it happens that the object put longer to arrive than expected and roleplay stops), the characters can’t simulate drinking or eating when consuming food or drinks because you don’t have animations on purpose. This is not a post about controversy on this game is clear; Personally I love it, I love his fighting style, I love the story and the characters, I just wonder why Arenanet does not consider to expand the content you have and improve them instead of considering only things like the Fractals that ok they work but are redundant.
One last thing: If GW2 took into account even enter real Housing System (even inside the Guild Hall) decoratable also with objects (chairs, tables, etc) made by the scribes who should be sold at the trading post, not the bland home district in which you only resource nodes that make me (for a change), the game already would give something to do that doesn’t aggregate mandatorialy play events or kill another Dragon next to awakening.
Obviously this is the view of only one player, a player who loves the game as much as you love it and I’m sure if you look you will see that these factual flaws there are.
Sorry for the wall of text but I wanted to say all this.
Hope to see you in Tyria
