Dear GW2: I don't want to be *your* hero.

I think what you’re asking may be too much…

Let’s look at some of the biggest titles in this area, Mass Effect and the Elder Scrolls.

Both of them do a very good job of giving you a sense of character, however they are both majorly flawed in their own way. Keep in mind I’m going off of a brief playing of Mass Effect, what I know from Dragon Age, and word of mouth so forgive me if this is incorrect.

In Mass Effect and BioWare’s other titles, you have an overarching story line that you have to complete, with side things on the way. You are the hero. However, you can choose what kind of hero you are.

With the Elder Scrolls, you don’t really know your character’s personality. What they like, how they like it, you don’t focus on the details (officially, anyway). However you choose to be a hero or not.

The ‘ideal game’ as mentioned before would be a monumental task, and unfortunately it would probably have to be tackled in a single-player game rather than an MMO, at least for the first go. And even then, we’d still have to wonder about ‘all the others doing the same thing.’ Bypassing that is impossible unless it’s a sandbox game.

Like said before, really all we can do is make RP fill the gaps.

Most NA servers "FULL" around the clock

I share your pain man, i have many friends stuck in different servers all trying to get into Tarnished Coast but its constantly full, to be unable to play with your friends is one major let down

I hope a Admin could like talk about this issue like

when will guesting be implented ?
what is the different of guesting and being in the server?
Will there be a increase in server cap ?

I had the exact same problem just yesterday. Was talking to a friend, he said he was looking for a new server and I told him about Tarnished Coast being the place for RP. He was excited to transfer, but it was full. And I’m already well situated within TC, and I don’t want to transfer. Not a situation I normally find myself in.

I hope they open one or two more servers. For about a week or two population would probably fluctuate a lot, but I think after that it would be fine, at least for a little while.

So why is WvW so boring, what am I missing?

Well as far as not finding people, whenever I pop into WPVP, I say something along the lines of, “Hello. Where do you need me?” And then someone normally points me to where they need some help.

It’s also possible your server isn’t too active, though, which I’m sure someone has said above me.

Shut down the free server transfers already!

I would say that they shouldn’t completely stop the free transfers, but limit them. Maybe one or two per month, and then you can pay 5-10 dollars for another one.

I found the GW2 timeline, but not the other two. I’ll be checking out the other stuff you mentioned, as well. Thanks for the assistance!

Well, I just found out that there are Guild Wars books! Any idea where I can find a list of these, in the correct order?

I’m new to both the game and the Guild Wars universe, and I take quite an interest in the lore of most games that I play.

So where would be a good place to start? I know that there’s a helpful Guild Wars Wiki, but are there any things in particular that I should make sure to read about?

If someone could even give me a brief overview of everything, that would be very helpful.

Any advice is very much appreciated!

Thank You, ArenaNet!

So I’ve recently begun playing Guild Wars 2, and I’m enjoying it a lot so far.

The world is rich and vibrant, a lot of things are different from what I’m used to from WoW, World V World is a blast, the community seems helpful, and everything just looks stunning.

And the music! Jeremy Soule wrote the score for at least some of the other Guild Wars games (this is my first, so I don’t know all of them), as well as the music for the last three Elder Scrolls game. All of them have incredible soundtracks, especially Skyrim. The music in Guild Wars 2 definitely lives up to Soule’s name.

I’ve only just begun playing and I’m still a very low level, but I’m really having fun and thank the ArenaNet team for a $60 well spent.
