The tower and the pumpkin carving dont count towards the title.
While they did “try” to fix the situation, they deserve little to no credit seeing how they just took what everyone payed for and once again offered up a gamble without publishing the odds and turned what we all payed for into more useless crap.
I blew a lot of money for nothing, lesson learned. These guys wont get anything else from me, and I hope thats a lesson learned for them as well.
My guess, either it was just pulled. Or they didnt intend for people to see the other recipe.

But since nobody has tried opening these “new” chests… I suppose whether or not its just another money sink with little to no rewards remains to be seen

Anet introduced a potentially real world money using gambling mechanic without posting odds of winning. That’s shady. People complaining absolutely have a right to do so.
We complain because we enjoy the game of GW2 and would like honest and positive business practices to accompany it.
Exactly right, they kept the odds hidden, therefore increasing the profit they made off the suckers (myself included) who thought they werent just another cheating RNG japanese MMO company. This was wrong, horribly wrong.

Im thinking I will just report my CC stolen, get my cash back. I win, they lose. And if they ban me, I will find another MMO. Dime a dozen.
Simple fact is, they are swindling the bulk of the player base. Is it legal? probably, fair? debatable.. smart business? In the short run yes, but long term they have chopped their own legs off by doing this.
100$ spent on 8000 gems… 100 chests opened and not a single skin.
Am I disappointed? Absolutely, but I get that this money was spent at my discretion and wasnt stolen. Scammed? maybe.
For future events when they do things like this posting the likelyhood of a drop or even giving people an idea that these will be ultra rare drops would be appreciated.

You understand that the only reason Darkhaven holds most of the land is because you have a larger population right? Sorrow’s Furnace usually has a 10k point lead and 300+ potential points until we get nightcapped by your huge population. Darkhaven accumulates freebie points for the 8-10 hours off time when WvW is virtually empty.
Really? Is your night time 12noon EST to about 8pm EST? Because otherwise your arguement is moot. Get some fact before ranting over having competition.
Ive got a lvl 80 necro and I definately enjoyed the journey, fun class with plenty of PvE survivability. I enjoyed pretty much everything about them.
PvP or WvWvW on the other hand is a different story, while I still havea lot of fun and can certainly lay down a can of whoop on people from a distance I can never be the first into a fight or its a simple 1-2-3 dead situation most of the time. Even with death shroud you only delay death another 3-5 seconds.
Wouldnt take much to get us up to par as a class in PvP, a few tweaks and im sure other classes will be crying about our OP-ness.
Cheers to A-Net, did a pretty ok job at the class overall. I look forward to seeing what happens over the next few months.
I realize its been addressed that this issue will get fixed… how is it not somewhat of a priority at this point? More and more players are hitting the 80 mark on thier first characters and the dissappointed masses will only grow.
I was lucky and stumbled upon this before finishing mine. But I hope its somewhere near the top of the ‘to-do list’

Im at 1176 and im looking at an average of 76-92, kinda on the low side. But we are not getting much love from Anet as far as a class goes. Just gonna have to pray we get some form of overhaul or boost down the road.
On another note, where did ya get the sick helm? loving it.
At the very least start charging say 500 gems to server x-fer, force these whiners who cant stand being in an even fight to have to pay to win. Im at my wits end, I was soooo overjoyed to start a week long match with a fair matchup and awoke the next morning to a complete mess, one team owning about 80% of the entire 4 maps and camping the spawn points of the other two teams (Yes, I play on Darkhaven). Its beyond depressing.
90% of people just dont bother queing for it at all anymore. Whats the point? to get spawn griefed by teams with siege weapons set up outside the starting points? This has gotten beyond pathetic. Quit allowing free transfers, its ruined the game.
