I don’t know if anyone has suggested this, but here’s how it goes.
Have a new icon for mystic forge crafts or a signboard that actually opens up a window like B.L.T.C which will allow players to access known recipes of items that has previously been made. This will allow users to search for the ingredients of the needed recipe and they can easily do a “right click > Buy more at Trading Post” instead of alt+tabbing out to wiki/gw2guru or some other website to look for the materials.
You can even put up something like a message board system where a player can choose to put up the name of the item which they have made and have other players to give a thumbs up for a recipe that is true so as to prevent people from getting faked. This way, players who stumble upon a rare recipe and does not wish to spread it can keep the ‘recipe’ for himself too.
….exaggerating much? The Amazon rating is still pretty good despite the pathetic attempts to review-bomb it. You made it sound like the game suddenly had a 1.0 Metacritic or something, but it’s actually just 30-40 people review-bombing it on Amazon. That’s….really not that big a deal.
And frankly, basing your purchases on user reviews these days is a questionable decision, since most people are very bad at giving even remotely objective reviews of anything.
when you only have 3-4 people review bombing something it’s ok…
but all of a sudden you have 30-40 people review bombing it, it has to say something…
Offering events like this at multiple times for different time zones is certainly worth considering, but given our team’s goals and the timeline we had to operate in (we fielded our team immediately after shipping the Live game), it just wasn’t feasible for us to consider such an option for this particular event.
Having said that, this decision is something that we realized would not make everyone happy. Keep in mind that there is a tremendous lineup of content to choose from during the weekend and after, with both the island and the Fractals dungeon remaining active, and we will continue to listen to both criticisms and compliments about these special events in order to continually improve your playing experience.
Considering the fact that when players complete certain events and can only open the chest once a day for that event, take Temple of Grenth for example, why can’t you make this Lost Shore event repeatable within the day so players can actually attend it and loot the chest? Those who actually participated in the event earlier will not be able to loot the chest but still be able to participate in the event.
While having 1-time event is cool, but having it while offering players such a good loot at the end of the event is not cool at all. What’s worse is putting an item that is worth at least 100g on the tradepost in it as a RNG.
Since this is not even a repeatable event, you’re sowing discord and jealousy amongst the players.
I can say this and I’m pretty sure it applies to many other players. We’re fine with missing out one-time event. We can always youtube it and see the cutscene or event sequence. However, having such RNG on a non-repeatable one time event is just horrible. Those who did the same event and did not get a precursor and those who could not attend the event are just going to feel sour, disappointed and demotivated.
It’s fine if it’s just something that is not of such a big value like a 20 slotted bag and an exotic earring. It’s not that expensive and everyone needs it. But giving out precursors? Not everyone needs it and even then, it’s economy breaking.
The main thing is about precursor being handed out for this event.
Who won’t be jealous if the person next to you got a precursor for doing the exact same event as you (not to mention, it’s a 1-time only event with a high chance of getting precursors)?
Would you care if someone threw in 4 exotics and got a precursor?
Not so much since they have to work to get the 4 exotics in the first place and it’s only 1 more precursor in the market.
ps. I’m sour about missing the event, but I’m even more sour about them giving such a massive loot bag to people who could attend the event. It’s like a slap in the face laughing at someone who want to attend the event but cannot because of real-life dedications.
at least you could attend the event if you woke up at 7am.
event starts at 4am my time, and I have to work at 9am.
forcing players to wake up at such weird hours is bad.
I don’t mind missing out the event, I don’t mind missing out some cool non-economy breaking items like 20slot bag or a exotic earring.
But seeing news that precursors has been handed out like it was a normal rare…?
That’s just so dissappointing to the point that I wished I’ve never bothered playing this game.
So.. um… will you guys be repairing the Lion statue in Lion’s Arch after the Mad King has destroyed it?
If I remember correctly, elasticity buff is 20 points into illusions…
Mesmers has the best AOE ability. Ever.
because 20 illusions mind wracking something isn’t funny…
A few bug fixes, a small nerf to iWarlock and just a small update to scepter’s #1. It doesn’t change the attack speed, it just makes the projectile fly faster.
I agree with you on looking at the boss attack pattern or even randomly stacking the confusion. But sometimes it just feels disappointing when you’ve managed to stack 10 stacks of confusion and the boss doesn’t do anything. I’m not saying that it’s bad to stack confusion, all I meant is that it’s just unreliable if you intend to use it as a main source of damage.
Besides, as you have mentioned, it doesn’t take alot of effort to re-clone.
It’s hard to say between staff and GS.
Staff clones can inflict burn, bleed or vulnerbility and if the clones auto attack crits, it’s 1 more bleed if you have the sharper images trait. The rest of the staff skills are more defensive with the exception of iWarlock. Chaos storm can be dropped at an enemy’s feet, but it’s probably better dropping it on your feet as a defensive skill.
On the other hand, if you’re using GS, you need to dodge (traited) to create clones, use skill#2 (which places the clone at the enemy, not so useful), or use utility skills to summon the clones to attack. And to cause bleed, you MUST have sharper images so that each crit will put in 1 stack of bleed. You will need to have Phantasmal Fury and lots of precision to proc the crits. GS other skills are also more offensive based, with the exception of #5.
This is comparing bleeds, not cond damage from confusion.
Confusion is not very useful on mobs because they don’t always spam skills. This makes confusion very unreliable on mobs. This debuff is probably much better if you’re pvping because people are constantly using and spamming skills.
you don’t even need thief…
mesmer has veil that makes you invisible for 3sec when you run thru it.
couple it with blink and portal and viola!
a trash mob skipping class.
also, did i mention you can use temporal curtain and veil together to get stealth+speed buff?
Time Warp – 3 Colorless mana, 2 blue mana.
Sorcery
Target player takes an extra turn.
How is it OP? Costs so much mana =|
Mirror Images has it’s own advantages. Decoy stealths you and drops 1 clone. Mirror Images on the other hand, doesn’t stealth you and drops 2 clones. For a shatter type Mesmer, it is probably much more useful as you can have 2 clones with 1 button as compared to 1.
Also, no cast time too.
I’m just an average player and I’ve just recently tried a thief to see how a glass cannon thief would play out.
It’s actually quite easy to counter. From a non-thief main player, I would say it’s fine as it is. Stacking venoms means you have less defensive ultility. Activating the signet means you cannot use it for the next 36sec (if traited), and that lowers your damage potential.
True that you can take out a target quickly, but for the next 36sec, you cannot really do anything because you have already used your “big” move. Also, you still need to kill the ‘downed’ player which some can drag out the fight. Not to mention, having only about 15k hp tops, it makes thief very squishy.
Before crying nerf, have you really played a thief to find out how to achieve that damage and bringing it to sPvP to try out?
@Mayama – I don’t know if you have played a thief or not, but to achieve that backstab, all you need is just 1 sec. Doesn’t matter if anet fix the lag delay or not. You need to have quick reflexes to counter the thief in that 1 sec.
Fact – Thieves that rely on strong backstab damage are a 1 trick pony. They can at best heartseeker you to death if the backstab hits. If the backstab misses, they are as good as dead. Risk vs Reward. Do it or fail it.
Here try this. Go in EB puzzle…put some siege weapons in the starter area where players from all servers spawn…balistas…arrowcarts.
Enjoy a permanent lockdown on 2 servers.
In the borderlands puzzles it’s even easier..put balistas/arrowcarts at the waterfall…everyone that falls and has 10% life dies, and they can’t be shot without actually being on that platform.
You know… you don’t really need a seige weapon there. Just have a bunch of thief and just let them heartseeker to their heart’s content.
It’s a mixed feeling for this. I’ll consider this as a bug fix as well as a nerf.
Personally, I feel that this “fix” is needed to make it such that the skill is not overpowered. Ranged mobs have practically no chance against it before the “fix”. This just makes it overpowered.
On the other hand, by not fixing the other phantasm to put it in line with this trait and thus leaving this trait useless as well as introducing a new bug that leaves the iWarden with a longer attack delay kinda puts me off.

For those who say Mesmers don’t have good AOE to tag mobs, this just means you haven’t played enough.
You have Chaos Storm, and iBerserker to AoE. You can trait Illusionary Persona to do a self-Mind Wrack to tag mobs. If you have your illusions out, just send them over to Mind Wrack to tag. Sword1,2 also have a small AoE (although it only hits 3 max), so does Trick Shot for pistol.
For dungeon AOE, Chaos Storm, Null Field, Time Warp are actually very good support AOE because of the combo field.
There used to be close to only 1sec CD inbetween the spins. This makes the warden extremely powerful against mobs that only use ranged. It’s that ridiculous to the point where ranged AI mobs pratically has no chance against a warden.
That’s interesting. I didn’t know summoning a 4th will trigger “on death” effects.
Now this makes it easier for me to plan my build and playstyle.
heya, what do you think about illusionary persona? It seems very useful for shatter build.
im using it and its very good if you want to go shatter build
and you can use all shatters even without illusions when you count as 1
but Illusion line offers condition dmg and shatter recharge reduction (which isnt working maybe, because it shows the same numbers as without it, dont know if recharge is faster) so it lowers your other stats, mainly dmg stats
the reduce in recharge time for shatter works. cooldown numbers remain the same on tooltip, but when you activate it. the active CD timer counts from after the reduction.
Does shattering an illusion counts as it being killed?
Agreed.
Will you be adding the option to create private rooms for a group of friends to play together without having random players entering the game?
Sometimes we just want to hang out and play together and also practice spvp and discuss tactics while playing to improve our skills. Don’t really care if the private room doesn’t give rank points.
What’s important is being able to play with/against friends without outside interference. =|
I feel that WvW is fine as it is. It just needs slight improvments and major push to get people to help out in WvW.
Some improvements that can done is to have a way to allow people to see what is the current occupation rate of their server in WvW. For example, EB currently has 70 players out of the maximum 100 players limit, or EB currently is full, 100/100 players and another 23 players in queue. This will allow players to decide which BG they would like to go. This point has nothing to do with WvW but it will help with the 2nd point that is…
I’m pretty sure many of you DAoC players know this.
Darkness Falls.
Putting in an additional zone that is only exclusive to the “winning side” will push players to help out abit in WvW. Not only you will make the WvW zones more populated, you will also help regulate the queue as when people can enter this “Exclusive Zone”, they will have to leave the WvW zone. This will allow people who are queuing for WvW to have a slightly easier time to get in (i hope) and defend their points or go on the offense and capture more points.
Off course, adding an additional zone would be alot of work that needs to be done, but I feel that having this additional zone will make players be more involved in WvW. It can also alleviate some of the “night capping” issues and more players will enter WvW.
Off course, this “exclusive zone” can be decided by Anet on how they want to have it done up. It can be another mini-WvWvW zone, or it can be a PvE zone or a PvPvE zone like Darkness Falls, it all depends on Anet.
by not allowing you to go pass with seige weapons is kinda effectively not giving the enemy realm at least 2 free seige weapons…
just sayin’
If you read the tooltip of the iDuelist, it says that there is 20% chance per shot to be a physical projectile. Only when the shots become physical projectile can it combo with the combo field to do confusion.
and you can use all shatters even without illusions when you count as 1
