Player AFK on the Rise in PvP

These past few weeks I have been getting more and more frustrated with the new trend of people joining PvP matches run to the closest capture points gain at least 10 points and then just go AFK.

They might move around a little bit or some of them just find a cozy corner they can just chill and wait for the fight to be over.

The sad thing there is no way to report these players; they really ruin the fun and competitiveness of the PvP matches when you encounter one of these players in your team. Because at the end of the match they still get rewarded the 500 points for doing almost nothing. This is very unfair to all the players that are actively playing and trying to win the match.

Lastly I want to finish this post constructively, hope you all support and comment on this post so that ANET gets a chance to read this and fix this annoying trend before it becomes more of a problem. An easy way to fix this problem is to allow other players to report that player for AFK’ing. If the players continually shoes a pattern that he/she goes AFK every time they play or often when they play. They should at first at least be penalized with double the que times then the average person. And after getting warnings if the behavior still continues just ban this players account.

We are a guild that gives you choices we have people that are both PvE and PvP focused. So you can choose if you want to become a regular PvE member or rather a PvP member or maybe both like many of us are.

We are not the biggest guild but we are friendly and active, we help each other out with Achievements, with Dungeons, Fractals and World Bosses. For us it’s not just about helping out for us it’s about having fun and going on adventures with friends.

Most of our members are 18+, but we welcome everyone in the guild as long as they are respectful, active and represent.

We have people from different time zones in the guild so there are always at least a couple of people on at any given time. Due to this fact we try to organize guild events such as guild missions and others when there are many members online.

Through Thick and Thin [TTT] was originally created in Guild Wars 1 by Sombra Shangoshi it was a big succesfull Luxon Guild in Guild Wars 1 for a long time.

Now we want to continue with the culture of greatness, friendship and loyalty in Guild Wars 2 and make [TTT] one of the biggest and best guilds in the Guild Wars 2 community.

Everyday I try to log on and do my dailies. I especially enjoy the PvP dailes. But in these last months I have seen a trend of people either going AFK while in a match. Or players that just sit there and camp after they got the 10 points for capture so they get the 500 rank points win or loose. And lastly the leavers, and we all have been through that 4 vs 5 scenario.

My question for Anet and my fellow players are:
1. When are they going to implement a way for players to report other players that either camp or go AFk during matches?
2. When are they going to implement penalties for people who leave or drop out of PvP matches?

Hopefully my questions will get answers and something will be done about this soon. Feel free to share your comment and experience on this matter.
