This is a problem because people can ‘Buy’ for under vendor price.
Lots of players don’t even know about the invisible ‘Sale Tax’ that they are often paying or not paying. Ever notice some random money in your ‘Pick Up’ tab that wasn’t there 5 seconds ago? Yea. Put 2 and 2 together.
What’s really happening is really non-money-savvy players are using the Trade Post because the model is easy to use. They are posting things practically vendor price or buying for lower than vendor price and what these (what I consider BUGS) bugs are doing are is letting TRADE professionals (players who play games JUST to play economy) take over the trade post. You can see it happening quite clearly, things like copper ore have been taken over by mass distributors who are trying to regulate the price.
IMO The trade post needs a clean wipe, all items returned to sellers and all orders canceled. The devs need to place in limitations on how much a buyer/seller can post or buy. That way a take over is largely impossible. Definitely need some limits on the trade imo.
Looking at the Copper ore buyer tab and I think it’s pretty hilarious as well. Some buying over 100k copper ore at 12-17c. How did they even make that 100-200g+ listing?
Edit- Thanks I understand in regards to my original post but I’ve responded with additional queries in regards to players being able to list items so close to vendor price that they are losing money. Check below in regards to that response.
So today I’m like.. OH yea I’m gonna go pick up some copper ore on the TP! I get to the Copper Ore page and I see some utter silliness.
The lowest seller is selling over 200k copper ore.
If I were to assume they bought all that ore for 1c each then they spent ‘only’ 20g for all that. But that would be vendor price. This person could have hundreds of people (friends or guildies) mailing them money or ore to sell. However, from what I can tell this person remains the lowest seller.
My question is: How is this being allowed? Are you now seeing the cumulative flaws of the trade post, while subtle, are becoming a glare in the eye of the buyer?
As someone who would like to turn to the Trade Post for buying occasionally or daily, I am seeing some scary changes happening rather quickly in the GW2 economy. I don’t feel we are making enough money off the content to meet many of the prices thus far. There are things like Cultural Armor that I know will take a long time to save up for.
(Edit- I’d like to note that for the most part in the first GW only high ticket items like Ectos – Black Dye – and the like, changed value frequently. After all was said and done (expansion wise) things like Wood and cloth rarely saw price spikes. I am assuming (which could possibly be wrong of me) that Copper/Wood in GW2 would be on par with Wood/Iron in GW.)
I was really hoping that the Trade Post would stay balanced, have it’s limitations and provide a fair place to trade. To be completely honest as the days pass I would rather trade with friends instead or not sell at all. I find myself missing the Material Traders from GW.

Is this something that the dev’s expect to balance itself or run it’s course and get better?

Hey! As searching ‘guild’ in the search turns up tons of non related results that I don’t feel like spending 4 hours combing through I will just post this here. Sorry If someone has asked/suggested this already.
PLEASE for the love of kittens- split the rank permissions into single choices.
Currently my biggest issue is-
‘Admin Lower Ranks’ combines permissions to invite, kick, demote, and promote are all on one rank. As a guild leader or assistant leader many times in the past I know that allowing players I trust to invite is one thing, but to kick is another.
I don’t think multiple permissions should be on one check box, splitting them up would be ideal.
Thanks.
While doing my norn personal story I’ve also been missing a ton of dialogue. Seems like it’s right on the start of a conversation dialogue or on an NPC switch in the dialogue. I read quickly and skip, not sure if the skip helps trigger the talking but I seem to start hearing speech after I skip 1-2 times.
Event: Bayt Fallahin skill point has been broken for a week or more. Please fix this.

Wow, that is horrible.
Did you get an email like mentioned here?
Jee.7193:
Check your email.
An email from sender ‘ArenaNet’ with subject title ‘Authorize login attempt’
Inside this email will be a link similar to the following:
https://account.guildwars2.com/allow-login?token=<A BUNCH OF NUMBERS AND LETTERS>&request=<A BUNCH OF NUMBERS AND LETTERS>&ip=<IP ADDRESS OF COMPUTER ATTEMPTING TO LOGIN TO YOUR ACCOUNT>
If you have that email, it means that you or someone else attempted to access your account at the aforementioned IP Address.
If this is the case, the computer/IP Address trying to login would have to be authorized , and that can only occur by clinking the link mentioned above. So ask yourself this. Did you click that link thinking it was some routine email verification from ArenaNet?

I have to agree that the Orr area has yielded nothing but headaches so far for me. Skill point challenges continually being bugged have prevented me from completing the zones. I am finally just waiting on Malchor’s leap. All that headache to get lvl 76 or 78 mystics that I can’t even wear. Makes it hard to even appreciate the wait.
The Cursed Shore so far is the worst for me. Most of the events get stuck and I can’t seem to catch a big event going on there. I got in a troop escort a few times but they led to nothing. The event status said troops were alright for now and we’d be notified if they needed more escorts. Just felt like these escorts were filler events. Not nearly as smooth flowing at the previous two zones which was a large let down for the zone giving access to Arah.
If the events could get a good fix and provide some fluid continuity I could see the mood and enjoyment level raising immensely. Straights seemed full to the brim of events. Malchor’s was slightly less (it felt like). But Cursed Shore so far is the least continuous. I find myself already standing around on my high level character – I try to hit up events, participate in bosses… only to find almost every event bugged out, stuck somewhere, with other people running in circles asking ‘Bugged?’ over and over again.

My Major Runes of Lyssa are also bugged. The 4 set bonus says to gain a random boon when casting healing skills. I gain no apparent random boon. Also don’t appear to be gaining the proper stats, ex, 55 precision between the armor and rune – I take the armor off and only lose about 20 precision. Unsure if I am missing something, some special conversion or something. However, hidden stat conversions are confusing and players shouldn’t have to visit websites to have them explained. So, to me, this needs to be fixed.
