People seem to be overreacting about Necro not being buffed enough, changed in a right direction or changed at all.
I think that if youre not abusing Reapers protection and Runes of the Nightmare (only me and one other Necro as far as I know), it is one of the most balanced classes. They are at the same spot most of the time and their place in meta or team comps often revolves about recent balance changes to other classes.
So as Djoooce said, the biggest buffs to Necro are actually other classes nerfs. Also Spectral Armor was one of the best utilities since beta, it did not need a buff, Ive been using it forever and it worked out very well for me.

I agree with Ventari.
I even ran some variations of the previous meta build without Dhuumfire pre-patch and as I stated a few times in the past, I dont think Necro needs access to burning to be viable. It is also very enjoyable to play it at the moment, Im really loving the new Curses trait and the class feels balanced.
However RNG based Nightmare/Reapers Protection build can be not so pleasant to play against.

If any team is considering having Necro on a team, this is the player you want.

Im Ytendra/Plethora from Five Ronin [FR] a European TPvP team composed of Dipset, Teh Quasar (from Plastic Fantastic) Dzindzinier and me so far. We are all top 100 players and we did really well against top teams so far.
Our thief has currently left us to join Cheese Mode and we are looking for a 5th player. We are looking only for S/D Thief or Hammer/LB Warrior, our team fights are already pretty strong (Guard, Ranger, Engi, Necro and previously Thief) but we need some better roamer. We have tried a few players but none of them have fit our playstyle thats why we are looking for someone on forums now.

You need to be experienced, top player and you have to have deep knowledge of the game and other classes and you also have to main builds mentioned above, important thing in our team is synergy and we seem to be lacking that with the last player in every case. We are very calm and easy going guys so we expect you to be the same, we dont need ragers or people that blame others and have to argue. We want to be as good as possible and we play almost every day.

Experience: Ive been playing GW 2 for quite some time at higher level (Im only r44 because I wasnt able to play the game for 2 months due to some technical difficulties on my side and another 2 months due to lack of incentive to play the game and I actually played on my other accounts, my personal best rank is 30 on EU. I didnt managed to get a large amount of QPs since I started doing paids late (only got like 120+ if anybody cares) Ive played a few games with top rated players (CM, Den, NN, CC, TMO, MiM, TFL team members), at this point Ive faced every competitive team and a lot of strong PUGs. I have played in two teams so far – Rainbow Five [RF] – Miamoto, Rubajz, Chalmidy, Fejzak and Five Ronin [FR] – Dipset, Break (from PF), Dzindzinier, Sizer. I have PvP experience from other MMOs like WAR (where I used to be in one of the top guilds on our realm), WoW (I wasnt gladiator, only got to 2,3k in s8 then I got bored and quit, played a little bit since then but not as competitively), GW 1 (played a little bit, but not that much) and Bloodline Champions (not a MMO but pure skill shot based PvP game)
Other (Anything else that you would like to add): My name is Ytendra, Plethora, you might or might not know me from the Heart of the Mists on Desolation realm or some Mistleague matches (so far only our match against Denial Gaming was streamed). Im currently looking for a team, Ive been playing Necromancer since the very first beta and I kept playing this class even when there werent that many Necros around. Since I was playing with another Necro friend, I decided to try other class and that was Engineer. At first, Ive been playing HGH but I switched to “Teldo” build and nowaydays Im playing my own bunker build (also suitable for pushing far node) just for fun – I have no problem playing bombs again. Id like to play either one or both (depends on map and our/enemy team comp) of these classes in tourmanents and so far these are the only two classes Ive played in tournaments. Ive tried playing everything else but none of the other classes suited me as good as Necro or Engi (FYI I DO NOT like playing FOTM classes/builds). I have a lot of free time that Im willing to spend on playing Guild Wars 2 and things related to the game. Im 21 years old (just in case youre wondering) down to earth, easygoing, calm guy who likes to play video games, especially Guild Wars 2, theorycraft, watch streams, have fun and compete at the same time. What Im looking for is a like-minded top tier team that would like to play competitively (attend tournaments, climb the ladder, scrim top teams). Ideally I would like to play during week days and also weekends for as much as possible, I would like to play the game to the fullest, I understand that a lot of people have school or jobs and that real/personal life comes in the first place (I also study atm but I have some spare time). I might not be the best player but Im always trying to do my best, learn from mistakes and make myself as good player as I can be. I speak English quite decently, Im from Slovakia so I also speak Slovak and Czech language. I have a good working microphone and most of the VOiP software but I prefer TS. Every MMO had a rough start, I know that Arena Net is taking smalls steps but eventually we will be at the point where the game will be perfect and Imo the best PvP game out there. People also have to realize that (I really dont like comparing GW to other MMOs since its not a WoW clone at all) WoW havent had battlegrounds in the game for the first 6 monhts there was only Open World PvP and also arenas havent been there till TBC – thats 2,5 years after releasing the actual game and Im also pretty sure that LoL havent had Ladder, 5v5 solo/duo, 5v5 premade and 3v3 premade ranked games and queue in the game from the start it took them 8-9 monhts to implement this features, till that point there were only normals. Also the community wasnt that big in any e-sport games such as Starcraft or League of Legends from day one.

Ive been on these forums for quite a long time today and Ive probably read almost all the ideas, whining, posts about the patch being good and all. But this actually made me to log on my account and reply even though I wanted to participate in almost all the topics, I just didnt. This is how everyone should look at the patch, it may not add ladder, custom arenas, game browser, but its still a step forward even because of the minor balance changes they gave us WE asked for, I know a lot of you (including me) are awaiting the arrival of big pvp changes, but I guess ANet just dont want to screw anything up, its better to take smaller steps. Honestly, Ive played a lot of MMORPGS in my life and over they years Ive found Arena Net to be the most community friendly company and I really appreciate that. Guild Wars 2 is heading the right direction, maybe we wont have an e-sport game tomorrow or not even next month, but this game has a huge potential to become one, I believe in Arena Net. Even if they wont make it an e-sports title (which for many of you this is the reason you still play the game) in probably distant future we will have amazing PvP MMORPG. If they decide to make the game an e-sports game, my guess will be that many people will come back to compete and maybe with proper advertisment more people will become interested in the game and the community will grow, so far I have almost only good impression on GW community as a whole and this is very rare. I like playing the game and I will continue playing it for a long time, Ive been waiting for so long to play this game and now Im having blast playing it, Ive met some really nice people while I was having fun and I still do enjoy the game. I cant wait for THE big PvP patch and I bet so cant you even if youre tired of waiting, this game doesnt have subscription model so you can always come back or check anytime.
Edit : I really like the enthusiasm and positive comments about the game, my brother just woke up to get on the bus to school and Im still up to read the feedback about the patch and to write this post.
