Friends just started, my server full = $35?

I’m on blackgate which is apparently the only “full” server. I don’t want to have to pay money to transfer off the server. Is there any way around it so we can play together for everything, including WvW, or can they wait until non peak hours and it will not be “full”?

This is frankly silly, as I haven’t played in a long while and didn’t realize we’d have to pay money to WvW and stuff together. And it’s $35 dollars to get (more than) enough gems to pay for a transfer… I mean, I could almost buy another copy of the game for that much! What the?

Am I really screwed this much on this?

Decent feedback.

I’m not really sure what I want to focus on, I really liked PVP at first but felt a lack of rewards and stopped playing the game shortly after. PVE I’ve only gotten to 44 on the warrior as my highest.

I’ve never done a dungeon completely, I think I hopped into one on my necro once and it was a clusterkitten (selfcensored) in there. Kittens were flying left and right, other kittens dying… it was just a big pool of bloody kittens, which is sad.

With that said, I think I’d like to try the PvE Dungeons and such again and be useful in there. I think I got a little bored playing a signet build on the warrior but yes, very efficient kill speed with Greatsword, but I’ve got some dual wield axe kitten going on right now that’s pretty fun too.

I have a warrior and a necro about mid-30s, haven’t played the game in a LONG time (few months after launch I got busy in RL).

I’m curious how Necro is doing lately? I loved their talents and spells back in the day, but sometimes I felt a little weak / slow compared to my warrior.

Would you recommend I play him, or my warrior?

Struggling to stay motivated to play this game, and a lot of this has to do with the fact that I can not find a group for dungeons. The rest is due to the fact that I don’t really enjoy the dungeons.

I like 100%ing zones, doing all the heart events, vistas, etc., but when that’s over, that leaves me with Dungeons, sPvP, and WvW.

WvW seems pointless to me, and is for the most part a big zerg. Not sure what to do in here or why so many people are still playing it. Maybe it’s that I’m a warrior and I basically can only play Rifle or LB in the back, or run around hoping to find a skirmish where I don’t get AEO nuked to death.

sPvP has no true progression. Which is fine. But I can log on to any level 2 and play sPvP, and the same 4 maps gets old after a while. And while I would like some shiney, prettier gear, I really don’t give a kitten.

That leaves dungeons. I really want to like them. But they just feel like a big event to me. It’s hard to find a group. Maybe it’s my class, because once again, I feel like I have to whip out rifle or LB half the time. Maybe it’s because I’ve only gotten into a couple and can never find a group. Maybe because there isn’t an in-game system I can use to find other people that want to do the same dungeon, without spamming in a zone for an hour or so. No, I don’t want a matchmaking auto-queue, I just want a channel or something like the LFG system WoW used to have where you flagged your class and what you wanted to do, and people could find you. Just some type of tool so I can do the content.

I don’t think that WoW dungeons are really much more engaging, I just find that I’m actually able to play them. I hate the DPS meters, always worrying about only 1 thing – where do I rank. I want to like the dungeons. Maybe I’m doing it wrong.

Should I try a different class like the guardian? Or something ranged, like a mesmer or ranger?

Is there more to do at endgame then just make prettier looking gear so I can try to find dungeon groups?

Sorry, it isn’t obvious. Yes, you can, that’s great. Imagine this, not everybody knows who you are (myself included) so we haven’t all seen your thief videos, and maybe we don’t understand you’re trying to make a contrast/comparison and not say that warriors can lay down the nukes like a thief. Re-do the intro.

FUn to watch but you seem to just be a little wasp stinging people, which looks fun but not as effective as we’d all like to feel from a damage perspective.

Either way, I enjoyed the video once I realized what you were doing.

Face it, the naga razer is the only thing that makes this class bareable

Few solutions.

Naga ELITE – better grips than standard naga for some hands
Combine this with the Logitech G13for your left hand
Problem solved, Been using this combo for years now and it is great in every game, every genre, except perhaps racing games.

I don’t really like the G700 that much, but I’ve been using the naga for years now.

The benefit of the G13 is that you have 22 buttons available to bind, you can bind one of them to shift, giving you 21×2 = 42 buttons. Not to mention all of your movement you do with your thumb joystick. Yes, it took a month to become proficient, but now I can hardly play with a standard keyboard and I fear the day they stop producing the G13.

You didn’t actually list the utilties and elite you suggest…

Is engineer a solid, well-rounded prof for most game modes (sPvP, dung, WvW, questing)?

I am enjoying my warrior, but he’s very static – not a lot of variety going on there.

I feel dejected when I think about my necromancer. Fun in concept, painfully bleh in practice.

So I’m trying to decide on a fun ranged class for dungeons, WvW, etc. I’ve thought about ele, ranger, and engineer.

Ele I’ve heard are frustrating at higher level. Ranger seems to be a lot like the warrior in the sense that there isn’t much variety going on in skill choices. Engineer seems to have a decent variety and could do well in various parts of the game.

I’ve considered the mesmer, too, but they mine is very “squishy” so far.

So what are people’s thoughts on the engineer overall?

I spent a lot of time on my own (ie, not reading other players guides) theorycrafting on the necro before launch and coming up with some builds. So far, my favorite build is one that maximizes wells, makes them targetable, and allows me to lay down fields of conditions for my enemies. It’s pretty survivable and spawns mark of blood when I dodge, etc. Not bad… but I can’t kill anything in PVP.

I’ve got some builds that are okay in PVE.

But compared to my guardian, rogue, warrior, it just seems to take forever to kill anything. I haven’t done much of the game except story through level 32 and 100% zones. I’ve got my guardian to like 15 now and, while effective, it doesn’t hit my happy bone like playing a soul sucking necromancer does on a thematic level.

In sPvP, I’ve tried MM builds, death shroud builds, etc, but nothing seems to be very effective in sPvP so far… but I might just need to find the right build or stop and just read some guides.

With all that said, what are necros really solid at in GW2? Dungeons? Questing? sPvP? WvW? None? All?

I’m considering playing my guardian, warrior, or thief instead as my “main”. Guardian largely because they seem to do well in most aspects of the game. Or maybe even something ranged-focused, like a ranger or mesmer.
