Hey guys, I haven’t been able to play lately because of the FPS issues so I’ve been looking around the forums. Earlier today I saw a post that almost immediately got moved so after finding it in Linksville. I found these really cool walkthroughs that these people do, it looks like they didn’t skip anything and go over everything with their audience. So what do you guys prefer? People being thorough not skipping details and explaining things to you or just watching them do whatever their doing and having fun with their friends? I prefer a bit of both myself but in the end I do prefer people at least explaining something to me. So what do you guys think?
I’m a bit to concerned at this point if this is going to become a regular thing I’ll just play other games until they fix it. I was really looking forward to the new pirate update and finishing my dragon bash stuff but having 10-15 FPS in LA is just pure torture at times. I’m getting a bit worried about the 99% GPU usage to if this thing gets damaged I’m outta luck. </3 I’ll check back regularly sure hopefully this doesn’t become permanent. Fix dem optimization issues pls Anet.
What you are experiencing is uneven refresh rate… 62-63FPS … turn on Vertical Sync (Not frame limit). Secondly seeing GPU at 90-99% load is GOOD. That means the game is using the GPU effectively.
Makes no difference still about 25 FPS in Mount Maelstrom on low and 15 in Southsun.

Yours in other hand, there is not much you can do with low FPS you will experience shutter latency frametime. Every monitor is standard 60hz and you need 60FPS (59.9 FPS) constant for a SMOOTH experience. If you go above or below that number. You will experience frame shuttering latencies over 30ms.
Samsung… laptop in my guess without graphic core module (GPU / dedicated GPU chip). HD4000 is not a GPU but iGPU which is integrated into Intel CPU. They are the lowest graphic performer. Hence the price what you pay for, don’t expect a $800 laptop can run games at max framerates.
Ran it fine before the patch, 40-50 FPS in most areas on medium/high.

20 FPS in SouthSun on low as before I would get 30-40 on medium/high. I read in the patch notes that they will still be working on this optimization thing. Please fix this soon. >-<
Seconding soupa’s statement. All lowest settings possible, using Anet’s recommended specs and settings for the GPU.
Also, GPU running at 99%, CPU at a whopping.. 11%?
Yup GPU 99%, CPU 29%, Arenanet get it together bro. Turned EVERYTHING off and put EVERYTHING on lowest 25 FPS where as before if I put everything to lowest I would get 40 or 50 FPS, we’re just gonna have to wait and see.
I was noticing this too, especially when I was facing the Shatterer (Lots of players) and in the Black Citadel central spiral. Places that caused no problems before now bring my FPS into single figures so I played with the settings, turning them on and off one by one and found that reflections were the culprit, even with only “Terrain & Sky” the fps just takes a massive hit.
It seems to be any place where there are a lot of characters (NPCs and players) that it takes the biggest hits.
I play w/o reflections and go to areas w/o NPC’s or players (WvW) and I still have this issue so theres more it it.
Guys seriously thank you for posting this I should have checked the forums sooner I had the box out ready to send my comp back because I had tried everything to fix this. I have this issue too. Fix please constant 15-20 FPS is not my style, want my 30-40 FPS back.
I think something like that is already in place. Every lord at every location has the righteous indignation buff for at least 3 minutes after its been taken I think.
You guys have a rough time in T8 for one week and already are looking to recruit guilds? From what I could gather these last three weeks HoD has plenty of numbers to be competitive in T8.
Did you guys lose a bunch of guilds or something in the last week?
They did lose Zombie Land a couple weeks ago which is about 150-200 people. They came to GoM. No offense to the poster but you’ve only been in T8 a week, this seems a bit…desperate.
1. I don’t really know what hour did Southsun event started but I know that I logged into game maybe around 3-4 hours after it started, and I heard that my guild mates are at the end of 25/25 achievements to get exotic backpiecie…not only that. Some of them were nearly done with all achievements implemented 4 hours ago ! WTF ARENA NET ? Seriously I can’t understand logic behind that…why making it multimonth event when I can make it in one day ?
2. That RNG canse… I know it was mentioned millions of millions times but guys… as Fused weapons were at any case obtainable that supplu box kitten is impossible. Of course it’s only my problem, cause I really like the GS weapon and I believe not only me, so why there can’t be any way to obtain this in normal, not gamble way ? Why Anet makes us buy some kittenty shorts, but not weapons skins ? Why couldn’t they made a system like in SAB ? On Southsun you drop bubble-liked tokens, that you exchange for a skin which you cannot sell ? OR like Braham and Rox sets ? It’s really exhausting to cling on a 5% chance to get an item that I really like…if there are two achievements chests, then why not make one of them a token chest, instead 2 back piece items…
This all, after more decent Flame and Frost event, makes me want to really leave GW2, but I’ll just wait ot see what’s in store for us on 28th and then I will decide.
I’m not saying that we should boycott GW2 or that event, but I know I’m right about this, shame that Anet ingore that voices of people.
Oh well, don’t mind me, I;m just gonna go back to recovering some of that lost money after buying that stupid boxes. I’ll never learn, will I ?
1. The first part of flame and frost was super easy as well, all you had to do was run around and help the refugees. This IS the start of the event after all. Think of it like a book, the beginning is to introduce you to the characters and problems. Plus there is still more content that will be implemented.
2. You can’t have all the cool things but if you wanna keep buying the chests for an item that just looks cool have fun.
Honestly I think this is a pretty cool event, especially the crab mini-game. There are nice little touches like Lord Faren from royal humans story on the beach and the buffs the consortium and the settlers give you. Plus I had lots of fun running around with my guildies looking for the samples. We didn’t even use a guide. Thumbs up from me on this update Anet.
A post from Dank in the previous matchup. Nothing against Dank, BTW. He seems to be a level-headed reasonable guy. But, it just goes to show the hypocrisy being displayed by some of the people he runs with.

Also, notice how he says he was roaming with them. That’s a PUG? People who roam together for weeks on end aren’t a PUG, Chester.
The only difference between them and us is that they aren’t on voice together and I’m taking their word on that one. How difficult is it today to set up voice for a GW2 group? Answer: It’s not.
The other main difference is that we don’t make excuses when we lose, but they do.

I’m not sure how you would duel with us, you are on another server and stuck there for a bit correct? And guests can’t enter WvW. We do this every week though in wvw on GoM so maybe next time. (If you transfer here no pressure make your own choice all 3 servers have many different benefits.:))
it is really sad that GoM has to resort to using hacks in order to get ontop… yesterday saw a few people from the [ART] guild using speed hacks when the magically capped ET garrison, Hills, Bay which were all fully upgraded in under 5mins when u didn’t even knock down hills walls/gate and we had control of it for over 4hrs, then today 2 people from [RH] (Raven Hold) an eng and a hunter using auto dodge hacks, dodging any immobilizes thrown at them even in the middle of being pounded on..so in my opinion if GoM wins this week they didn’t deserve it at all, lost all my respect.
I take offense to this, as do some people in our alliance team chat and I’m sure many more people on GoM do. On the other hand some of us are like “Here we go again.” Way to build relations. Some of us worked very hard for this, especially the night crew who deserve serious props if not for them we would not be at the point value that we are. Accusing someone of hacking is a serious accusation and unless you can back those accusations up with proof don’t go around saying stuff like that. We did not use hacks to get on top. [RH] does not run Rangers or Engineers at all, so I say to you sir. Whatchu talkin bout Willis?
I’m still hopeful for a fix but I’m wanting to go play other games now due to my drop in performance.
