I’m relatively new here, Thief suites my play style the best so picked it. Right now I’m a lv 43 condition thief. I just bought the master traits manual and it resets my traits, and my armor is quite low level. So I figured that this would be a good time to choose between a crit thief or a condition thief. Any ideas/ opinions?
I’m no expert, but i think i can answer some of your questions.
I’m not really sure what’s the “best” way to level is, but i find myself level up quite quickly by doing heart quest and events. Exploring is also a good way to gain some xp .
I find myself making a lot of money by selling the crafting materials. (I don’t know if ditching the crafting was a good choice or not. Don’t trust my words on it.)
As for classes, pick the class that suites your play style! That’s the obvious choice in MMO RPG s.
WvW is a war between server, your only enemies are the other 2 servers. There’s also sPvP that you can participate in by clicking one of the icons on the toolbar in the top left corner. (forgot the hot key)
The PvP currency would be fame(?), i forgot its name, it’s the purple thingy near your cash. You can use them to buy items after you filled a heart, etc.
As for dungeons, I’m pretty new to it myself. I know that the first dungeon recommended level is 40, and there’s a story mode that you need to clear before you can enter it freely.
That’s all the answer within my knowledge, hope it helps!
I apologize if any part is difficult to understand, English is not my first language.
1 – You may want to ask on the thief subforum. I prefer a sword/dagger build in PvE, myself.
2 – If you meet the suggested level for the dungeon, it is not to early (despite what some might try to tell you). As for looking for a group for dungeons, you may want to try using GW2LFG.
3 – Fight well and help your team! For more suggestions than that, you may want to check out the WvW subforum.
4 – How you manage your guild(s) is up to you. If you are seeking, though, you may want to check in the Guilds subforum.
5 – The best way to level is by doing what you enjoy, be it heart quests, dynamic events, gathering, crafting, dungeons, or just exploration.
6 – Armor stats depend entirely on what build you are running.
7 – You will hit max level without trying to hard, so you don’t need to worry overmuch. Just enjoy the game and you should hit 80 before you realize it. ^.^
Thanks! I’ll check out the sub forums, one more question though. Should I focus on crafting? I find myself making a lot of cash by selling the materials on the outpost.
To be honest, I’m not exactly new here, I’ve own Guild Wars 2 for quite a while. I play it now and then, but I’m enjoying it more than ever after I reached lv 30. I did some research on leveling and builds. I’m playing a condition thief and he’s lv 43 now. A random guild invited me but it seems like no one is ever online, so I can’t ask them for help. So I’ve got a some questions that I’d like to ask.
1. Is the condition build a good choice for a thief? FYI I’m soloing ALOT.
2. I want to try out the first dungeon but there’s no one willing to help me. Is it too early for me to enter the dungeon?
3. What do I do in WvW?
4. Should I find another guild? If so, how? (I’m in Yak’s Bend)
5. I’m leveling by doing heart quests, dynamic events and gathering. Is that the best way?
6. What armor should i aim for?
7. Should I try to max out the level, or do it gradually and enjoy exploring first? (BTW I love exploring in this game, it’s very well designed.)
Thank you in advance!
