Balance? Are you kidding?

Specklez.2694

I find it hard to believe that the upcoming “balance changes” are called that. They’re not even close to balancing.

WHAT is out of balance? In PvE, the classes are horribly unbalanced when compared to each other. Rangers are death-delivery vehicles. Nothing but 4 or more veterans can come close to taking them down.

Thieves, on the other hand, need to be played perfectly just to survive an encounter with a single veteran.

My ranger and my necro have both taken down a champion solo. My thief, engineer, elementalist and guardian are hopelessly outmatched by all champs they have attempted solo. They’re almost certain to die without even getting a chance to run away from most champs.

Mesmer? Kind of in the middle. At least he’ll be able to run away.

Yet these “balance” changes do nothing to level the playing field. Thieves still have a completely useless downed land skillbar, and no viable weapons underwater. Yes, some of their stuff gets tweaked, but so do the other classes. What about making them operate at the same level as other classes, instead of as second-class citizens?

If you want to do “balancing”, leave the ranger alone or nerf them. They’re grossly more powerful than any other class in nearly any situation (PvE). Concentrate on making the useless classes (thief, engineer, and guardians if playing alone) more playable. Especially their miserable underwater skills and some downed skills.

Omfg, XD XD XD XD XD XD
I completely thought this was a troll at first. Ranger the best in PvE and OP?!?!?!?! What’s you /age? Like 3 hours?
No seriously I’m hoping rangers get buffed even more in PvE. They are THE worst. Yeah sure they can hide behind their pet in open world, but the ranger’s power is despicable. I urge you to play a dps warrior in PvE, then you’ll see what OP is. Also, have you ever tried to pug a dungeon as a ranger? See how that goes. And thieves barely playable? Ummmm….
My advice, learn something about the game before you make posts like this.

Hey, I am looking for a guild that mains in doing PvP with each other. Ultimately I want to be able to open up the guild menu or chat and find a group of players with some general knowledge of PvP that are wanting to work together as a team to win.

Of course I also like to just mess around and have fun in hot join, or even tPvP too, so I don’t want a guild that’s too serious or anything. However I would prefer for most of the guild being dedicated to PvP, I have other arrangements for when I do PvE.
If you’re wondering I main as a Warrior, which I use for PvP too. I have spent almost 600 hours on now, so I know the profession very well. However I am rather new to PvP, rank 20 atm, but still find myself very successful.

NOTE: I also have an insane saxxy dps ranger that I like to mess around on, and sometimes I even humiliate myself playing on my Ezio thief. I also like to randomly create a toon to try out a profession and a build for it.

If you really want to be unkillable you should change some things.

2 of your utilities are useless which is contemplation of purity and signet of mercy. Well they are not fully useless but you could be more effective if you change them. You don’t have any kind of stability also. You should have at least Stand your ground as your utility. I would recommend hold your ground as well as it gives protection that increases your survivalability and these shouts also help the ppl around you. Signet of Judgement is nice if you really find yourself in need of stunbreakers. If not then i would use Purging Flames as it clears 3 condis and gives you -33% condi duration.

Also SHELTER: shelter blocks dmg and you can get stacks of might depending on how many times they hit you. It can save your life many times as you can run through an entire zerg with it and block all the dmg that might kill you.

According to this i would also change the build a bit around. I would go 0/0/6/6/2. If you don’t want Purging then 0/1/6/6/1.
1st version: Valor line: Strenght in Numbers, Mace of Justice and Altuistic Healing (AH because it gives you a much better sustain then what you have now)
Honor line: Superior Aria, 2 Handed Mastery or Empowering Might (as you run with 1 2h and 1 1h i would go with EM) and Force of Will
Virtues line: Master of Consecrations
2nd version: same things in Valor and Honor line
I would go at least 5 into virtues as your virtues would give boons. Also this build would be helping your friendlies a bit as well.

Runes: This build would go better with Melandru or Trooper runes (i prefer melandru). I would also get energy sigils for your weapons as they increase your survival as well. Also I would get a staff and at least focus instead of shield but as you said you don’t want to change your weapons.

Hey t hanks for all the advice and yeah I’m actually considering staff now :P

If all you care about is not dying, and don’t care if you tag mobs or contribute to damage, then get nomad gear instead of clerics.

I also suggest using lemongrass poultry food/runes of melandru because the lowered duration on conditions and stuns will end up preventing more damage than dolyak runes and mango pies regenerate back.

lol i would go with lemongrass, but I’m cheap. Also I may have no researched enough but I heard nomad gear was like 100g because of one of the ingredients.

Ima put this short, I’m trying to build a guard build that is the most unkillable, for zerg commanding and some other uses. I have no intention to use weapons other than the GS/Mace&Shield. Otherwise I’m open to suggestions, especially in regards to armor because I’m not sure if healing power is the way to go.

So I’ve been playing my warrior in ET for quite awhile now, and find that what I like most in wvw is roaming, However ET and the servers it faces are just too low of a population to actually even see people often. Because of this I have been saving up for a transfer, and now that I am close, I’ve been thinking of NSP as a server. What do you guys think of this choice? Is there a better server for solo or small team roaming? Thanks in advance!
NOTE: I also do like to follow a zerg occasionally

Warriors' burst abilities.

in Profession Balance

Posted by: Specklez.2694

Specklez.2694

First of all I play a Warrior as my main and have logged plenty of hours onto the toon so I know what I’m talking about. So let’s look at the upside of warriors in list form.

UPSIDES
1. Tied for highest kind of armor (heavy)
2. Highest raw dps of any class in the game
3. One of the best profession abilities, burst skills with adrenaline, where they all have an ability that’s available to classes, but are far more powerful, and can have as little as a 7 second cd
4. Most mobile weapon in the game (GS) that allows you to go in an and out of combat pretty easily no matter the enemy.
5. Healing Skill- Healing Signet = OP even after nerf, nuff said
6. Some of the best utilities
a. Shouts – great might stackers, high mobility, and a troll fear for eotm
b. Signets – on an equal level with other classes but slightly poorer active effects
c. Stances – 8 sec stability and swiftness combined, 8 sec invincibility to conditions,
and 4 second of invincibility to normal damage (can be wtf lol?!?!
d. Physical – Some nice CC
7. Elite- 50% fury, 5 might, and swiftness uptime OR a banner that does same in aoe
a long cd
8. Traits that are pretty good, especially the Discipline line ~ only thing is many of
them kind of go against certain war mechanics (Berserker’s Power, Heightened
Focus), but others that work great along with adrenaline
9. Decent condi clear if traited (Cleansing Ire) or Shake It Off
10. Simplest profession with straight up mechanics that any ol newbie can pick up

DOWNSIDES
1. Easily Readable ~ can kind of be canceled out with an Asura but that’s it

So yes as a warrior I will say we are SOOOOO OP; I love it! (Probably used that semi colon wrong) My question to you guys is why aren’t you using a warrior! Simple and boring blah blah blah I guess.

Warrior Build - dps/regen/support?

in Warrior

Posted by: Specklez.2694

Specklez.2694

Well first off this is just my opinion so no one get mad at what I’m saying. You seem to wan’t to play a supportive class with some survivability, you like your regen, and you do dungeons. Now what I think the best way for any profession to support in GW2 is to do it’s general job, and that for the warrior is dps. Below I’ve attached a build that is essentially the meta for dungeon warriors, with some modifications that I use, and that I find would fit some of the things you want (i.e. the Mango Pie which is insanely cheap and very strong with the healing signet). Also the utilities are very changeable based on the situation or preference. The big one I change a lot is the Signet of Fury, which I often swap out for a banner, or for the stability from Balanced Stance with speed as a bonus. Another thing in regards to survivability is Endure Pain, which is the perfect utility for those moments when you see your health bar dropping. Also the runes and sigils are changeable too, but you want to stick to dps oriented sigils and runes to fulfill your roll.
Overall the main focus of this build is dps, and I can guarantee you that most people you pug with won’t complain about the insane damage output you can get from this build with a normal might amount from a party, and the bloodlust you’ll have. You don’t have to run this build obviously but you have my strong recommendation. Stay Awesome!!

Sigil Choice: Is Leeching Worth It?

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: Specklez.2694

Specklez.2694

So I’ve been running this WvW build for quite awhile now on my warrior and am mostly content with it. Feel free to take a look at it, especially if you’re gonna leave an answer.

http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fJAQNAR3ejMd0FaZHOewJagqgC9iHANwprWdP04xAA-TFDEABJcQBi4BEQwRAIR1f2SJITKzk4CI0kSj20N0hGGAOQAxs/QAAEgbezsZbGM0hO0hO0h2Nv5Qv5QvZZAMnAA-w

However there has been one aspect to it that I’m doubtful of lately. I am questionative about the Sup Sigil of Leeching I run on my greatsword. Now some of you may be wondering why the heck I even have that sigil on my GS, but for me, a lot of the use of my GS is for kiting. I find that with the GS I can make a quick getaway ooc with it, and the healing helps me in the effort. Now here are the issues.

1. Sometimes when going kiting I don’t even hit my target as I leave, hence not getting the heal. The plus side of not getting the heal though is I can get back into combat sooner because I can count on that heal boosting my health up just a bit more, basically needing to kite for a little less longer.
2. Sometimes I don’t use the GS for kiting even. What I’m saying is sometimes I switch from my axe, which is my weapon I use a little bit more, to pull a Bull’s Charge HB combo, or a whirl attack for a short burst for example. Many times in these instances I don’t really need the heal, which is about 1500-2000 for me (not checked).
3. This is only minor, but the BLTP certainly seems to find Sup Leeching useless not too useful seeing as it’s only a few silver.

After seeing all these downsides for me, what I’m wondering is if Leech is really the sigil for me. I am running mainly a zerk build, that I mostly focus on keeping pressure on my target, but of course when I get into outnumbered fights or other zerkers, I need to kite a little bit. These things aside I want to get your guyses (nice spelling) opinion on whether I should even use this sigil.

NOTE: The other sigil I’m mainly looking at is the Sigil of Strength to somewhat make up for the Forceful Greatsword trait that I don’t run, but I’m open to any other suggestions on sigil choice

Anyway thanks in advance for the help guys, you’re quite a soldier if you read all of that. Stay awesome!

Warrior Looking For ET Dungeon/WvW Guild

in Looking for...

Posted by: Specklez.2694

Specklez.2694

Hey guys, this is Kunifez here. I am a level 80 warrior looking for a high population guild, or one in need of more leadership and developing quickly. I primarily run dungeons and some other PvE things, which is all in work so I can dominate in WvW roaming solo or with a small group. I don’t mind doing some large group WvW either. I am already in a guild, but my issue with it is the activity. I’ll ask in guild chat if anyone wants to do a dungeon, and I don’t even get a response. So basically I’m looking for a guild that runs a lot of dungeons whenever, and likes to do WvW too. I’m not looking for a hardcore guild, just an active one with friendly, and participating members. Leave me an in game mail, PM me, or respond on this post if you’re interested in having me. Be descriptive with your response and thanks in advance!

Which sigil should I use for my Warrior's axe

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: Specklez.2694

Specklez.2694

Well I was about to suggest sigil of intelligence, but you say you will be using the axe/shield mostly, meaning less weapon swaps. The int sigil would make your eviscerate hit like a truck if you were weapon swapping. Also sigil of battle would be smart in that case.

However if your choice is between air, accuracy, and force, I would say stick to air. In a zerker build you will be critting a lot, proccing the sigil all the time and gaining crits on the proc itself. It will hit for over 1k every 3 seconds. With your gear, I think that would be the best route.

And I repeat the same thing I said to Carpboy about the three seconds. Also I have a weapon swap every 5 seconds but most of the time when I’m using Eviscerate I’m not switching from my GS. Thanks for the other stuff though.

Specklez.2694

Air. 1.2k dmg every 3sec>anything else

But thats the thing, you don’t hit that every three seconds. If you calculate the 60% chance that you get a lightning strike on top of the 64% crit chance I have with food and full Heightened Focus, which I usually don’t have both, there is about a 37% chance to get a lightning strike. So basically once I get a lightning strike I’ll have to wait 3 seconds plus about 3 axe hits at max to get another lightning strike. Theres your daily dose of math lol.

Well….looking at your build….dunno.

Yeah… if you looked at that build you would have noticed I already have that on my shield.

Specklez.2694

So I have finally found a build that I’m comfortable with. It suits my playstyle well, and is probably the most complimenting build to how I play. The only thing I’m unsure of is which sigil I want to use with my axe. The build focuses mostly on the use of the Axe/Shield, but has the Greatsword because of its mobility. Because of the amount of time I’ll be using my axe as my main source of dps, I’m concerned of which sigil to put on it. My three sigils that I’m really considering are the Sigil of Air, Accuracy, and Force. I know the air sigil offers a good deal of extra damage, but I’m unsure of just how much, and if it would add more overall than the 7% increase in crit chance. My build already has constant uptime with fury, and can be increased up to another 15% with Heightened Focus, but that 15% is not constant because of how much I use Eviscerate for the axe, which will drain the adrenaline. That on top of the fact that I’m often not using the food I have on the build, I feel like the Sigil of Accuracy would help to create the high crit chance that I’m looking for so that my Eviscerate always hits hard. Lastly is the Sigil of Force which I consider mainly because of its damage, and the popularity of it. Thanks in advance, and I’ve left a link to my build, which is a WvW build, so you can get a better understanding.

I like the look of the white and gold combination more, but I feel the heirloom red dye and black go better with Twilight. Feel free to leave a comment stating which one you like more or other potential dye schemes. Thank you in advance and stay awesome bros.

EDIT: I was messing around and found a medium between the two that I like a lot, tell me what you guys think. (It’s the white, black and red one)
