@ OP.
Aww man, you got hacked that early on? That’s scary. How did that happen? I got hacked on GW1 and now I’m paranoid my GW2 will get hacked, even thought I have got the email verification enabled. Emails are pretty easy to hack to be honest. But I’ve made all my passwords crazy long. I could always put the verification on my phone, but I’m scared I will lose/break my phone and not get on GW2 again.
Besides that, the game has become more rewarding. For instance you can get Karma Jugs for completing dailies, which makes getting armor and waeapons from Karma Vendors less of a 50 hour event grind.
I disconnected in CoE today and when I re-entered I couldn’t Way Point because my team was still in combat. I had to run to pretty much the end of the dungeon while they did all the work. At least let us WP when we’re alive. Haha :P
You could just say I’m plain lazy
Hmm… yes, when you hit 80 and all you have left at your level is dragon events and Orr to mess around in, it would be good if it had more diverse events. A dragon in Orr would be awsome!
I have hopes of more areas being added, and can’t wait for Cantha and Elona do be added. (I hope they do add them anyway) but this would take a long, long time to create.
To OP.
I suppose Legendary weapons are such a grind to get because if they were easy to get then everyone would have them and they wouldn’t be special anymore; Over time, they will get cheaper as more circulate, like it did with the rare skins in GW1. This is the same for Culture Armor, it is so expensive and feels like a gold grind to get, but that’s what makes it rewarding I guess? However, a lot of the culture armor is so so wrong, (but that’s another discussion ^^)
What I loved about GW1 was Zaishen Keys! I was a Random Arena addict and when they added Z Keys I could get rich easily and it didn’t feel like grinding. However, GW2 has made PvP and PvE very separate this time around. I hear from a lot of people “What is the use in PvP if it doesn’t effect my PvE character in anyway?”
My aim on GW1 was to get all the best gear to show off in RA, but now I can only do this in WvW. I suppose they have introduced transferring skins into PvP now, but does that mean I have to buy Culture tier 3 twice? Haha!
At least if they don’t re-add something similar to Z-Keys then, maybe they could add something else that gets you rich without it feeling like you’re farming or grinding. Because doing PvP to get lots of money on GW1, never felt dull for me.
Well just when you think they couldn’t be more awful this new update that doesn’t let you waypoint if you die now has done it for me. Probably will do little to no dungeons from now on. They already felt like a chore now its just not worth wasting time on.
Another thing that didn’t need a fix that got ruined. Whats next.
Are you kidding? Lol if you can just zerg a boss there’s no point. Take your time, learn the mechanics, play as a team, and play smart and you shouldn’t die in the first place. If you do, fix what it is you’re doing wrong and hey you magically won’t die anymore.
Also, have your team mates revive downed players before they are defeated and you won’t have a problem. The game is easy enough. They’re heading down the right path with this one.
Not everyone will be on rambo mode in a dungeon party. I made this thread so the people who haven’t done dungeons like the no lifers aren’t looked upon as dead meat if they accidentally get downed and watch as when someone comes to res they get downed as well. Sure it doesn’t happen every time but mistakes happen and perma death till party resses doesn’t seem like a good time.
So now people who have done dungeons before and accept this change are “no-lifers”. Great concept.
Look at every other game. If the party wipes, they start the boss over. The original death running bullcrap in this game was not intended and it’s about kitten time they fixed it.
GW1: If you don’t revive players, it’s game over – start the mission or dungeon over (or from the nearest rez shrine). WoW – you wipe on a boss and everyone starts again from a fresh attempt. The list goes on. This change was well needed and should have been in from the start.
Coming from a guild of dungeon frequenters, I can safely say accidents do happen and people who get downed are not seen as dead meat. Any group that has some sort of competence will revive a downed player before he/she is defeated. If not, take turns reviving mid-combat or do without that player if the fight is almost over..
The point of GW2 is that it’s not like every other MMORPG, and they said that their plan from the start was that there would be no punishment for dying. This is not true anymore, as it feels punishing staring at my dead body as my team slowly dies. It has gone back to GW1, but why?
CoE is near impossible now, Alpha was difficult enough and it was still hard when you could Way Point and had to quickly run to him before his health went back up. A little bit of lag and this makes Alpha so hard. Please, Arenanet, find another way to stop people dungeon exploiting. What’s so bad about running through a dungeon anyway? I’ve been trying to get full CoE armour for about 4 months now, and it just keeps getting harder, and more of a grind.
