Still No Build or Loadout Saves?!

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Why didn’t Anet take the opportunity with the UI redesign for traits and such to save loadouts?

You guys knew that people would be experimenting with the new system and changing things up a lot and you still refuse to provide the community with ways to save their builds and equipment loadouts.

You guys also know that people will have different builds for different content.

Do you especially like to torment and troll your customer base?

Do you especially like to ignore potential revenue streams?

You could add loadout slots like bank slots and sell expansions in the cash shop…but oh noooooooooooooooooooo! You prefer to just make our lives miserable.

I’m going to start calling this game Troll Wars….seriously.

HoT Prepurchase Packaging

I’m happy that there’s been a statement made by Anet, but I don’t get where it’s appreciative of veterans.

Thanks very much for the character slot which is roughly valued at $10.00 USD according to the gem store. It’s a nice gesture, but it misses the point.

However, I don’t want or need the core game packaged with the expansion as I already have it.

I don’t consider it a value added because I already have the game and I would get no use out of this item.

What I wonder is why would there be a decision to package the core game to players who plainly already have it through a gem store banner ad? I mean if we’re seeing the gem store, we are in game.

I have the game. I don’t need or want another one. So why set the price point so high?

Adding the core game to the package and delivering it to us via gem store ad, just smacks of padding to justify a high price point.

Also, if I wanted an additional character slot, I could just buy it. Why put it in the package?

I’d like a no-frills option with just the expansion and nothing else. I don’t appreciate the padding. I would like a nicer price point….period.

Chronomancer - first impression

First impression:

Rotation will be so convoluted with the mesmer redesign that one third of the time you’ll not find conditions in the field where the skills apply, the other third by the time your casting animations and conditions are met to hit a peak in the rotation the fight will be over, and lastly the code for all the new traits, utilities, weapon, and profession skill will be such a clusteryouknowwhat that it will be bugged most of the time.

Meanwhile for all your hard work trying to master the class and deal with the headaches of skills and utilities being annoyingly barely viable….you’ll get the added joy of watching Warriors steamroll over everything and out dpsing you by pressing 1.

Honestly, that seems to be the mantra of the dev team…“We’re going to make mesmers even more convoluted and make them shatter! Because everyone knows that’s the only way to have fun!”

I dunno…I just hear “For the expansion we’ve planned to make your class EVEN MORE of a pita than a pleasure to play than it was previously.” from the dev side.

I have a concern because I’m a casual player and I kept hearing the devs repeat that mesmer is going to be harder to play than before.

So the take away I got is that this class is going to be harder to be effective with unless you’re the type of player that will spend hours on end to try to play a class that most other people will find too aggravating to main.

Should I just shelve my mesmer then?

I can’t stand this thing. It’s just a trolling tool since no one can back out of it without zoning out of a map. There’s no warning if you click on it and trolls in SW haven’t wasted any time loading these on top of chests and what not.

Zoning out of SW to cancel the thing out means that you will lose your magic find buffs in the process. So yeah….the perfect product for trolls to annoy other players.

At least with the bobble head a dialog pops up that gives other users a choice.

I’m beginning to think that this game is made by trolls for trolls.

I still wish I weren’t wearing a feather duster on my butt, but overall I really like the outfit.

Same. I wish they had just given us the countess anise skirt or something similar. I don’t understand where their artists think that the more gaudy the better a piece is.

No one has ever heard of less is more over there I guess.

Silverwastes Crashes And Boni/Mali Issues

I’m beginning to think that the motto of Anet is “If we aren’t annoying players, we’re not doing our jobs.”

There are so many irritating bugs in this game and the most recent gem I have been encountering is random crashes in Silverwastes.

The worst part about it is that when you’ve worked to accrue buffs like Hero of the Wastes and Perseverance and you DC, you don’t get the buffs back.

However, the debuff Tracked remains.

So what’s with the prioritizing of keeping Tracked after a DC, but not making sure that the buffs remain too?

Are you guys on the dev team just determined to kitten people off or is that just a bonus feature of the game?

So long as the map is bugged and ridden with optimization problems and you aren’t fixing them, you could at least make sure the buffs remain since you keep Tracked without much of an issue.

Sincerely,

Just Another Flat Out Annoyed Customer!

Yeah….I mean it’s not like they troll us enough already by making our characters look ridiculous.

Oooops! They do!

Ridiculous weapon skins
Ridiculous armor skins
Ridiculous town clothes
Ridiculous Hairstyles

It’s just fab. They have the prankster market cornered.

Community Standards - Mass Server Transfers

O.O

Wow? Those kinds of shenanigans are that pervasive?

I guess that answers my question on whether or not the mode is worth playing.

Community Standards - Mass Server Transfers

in WvW

Spooksie.4930

Is it normal and part of the GW2 WvW culture for entire servers to solicit guilds from other servers and pay for their server transfers?

Is this mode all about coverage and that’s it?

I’m just curious because I’m new to the game and this sort of activity seems strange. When I heard that Maguuma had paid for my PvE guildmate’s entire WvW guild to move to their server and was doing that with other guilds, I thought that it didn’t seem right.

I understand that the company makes money off these transfers so maybe they just let it slide and figure it’s an acceptable practice?

Can someone fill me in? I’m finding it to be an odd gaming culture and I’d like to know what to expect and what sort of standards are acceptable before I invest more time and gear into it. I want to know if the mode is right for me.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks everyone for your replies. It’s given me a lot to think about.

That said, there were a lot of comments about the meta and how it’s not always great, it’s just the common denominator accepted by the community? Would you recommend avoiding places like metabattle.com and finding my own builds instead?

Any suggestions on sources for builds and profession guides that are pertinent to the current client build?

The medium and light armor types actually have better access to blast finisher that can give a lot of things, from more dps to vigor.

Which professions have more blast finishers? Elementalists? I think Thieves have one? Mesmers one? Not sure about Engineers because I haven’t really taken a look at those or Rangers for that matter. Too many doohickies and I hate pets. I’ve never played in a game where AI pathing wasn’t an issue with pets.

So at the end of the day, all classes are equally viable for PvE content.

What about other types of content? The reason I ask is because one of the commanders in WvW on my home server “strongly” encouraged me to main one of those three classes if I wanted to continue to participate. When I say strongly, I mean he discouraged me completely from participating further.

What are the advantages of the other armor classes that heavy doesn’t have?

Holy Trinity Question

Spooksie.4930

I’ve been told that essentially the only three professions that are viable in the game are Warrior, Guardian, and Elementalist. Everything else is a nice to have instead of a need to have.

When you say that Warriors, for example, have more armor but that other professions can trait for armor. Can’t the Warriors trait for more protection anyhow even though they already get high defense in their armor?

I understand what you’re saying, but doesn’t it make it so that some classes can do the most important things in the game (deal damage and mitigate damage) just by virtue of their gear while others have to trait and suck it up?

I don’t understand the need or role of the different armor types in a game that says the trinity is gone.

Can someone please explain?

Hi all,

I’m pretty new to this game and as I understand it, there’s no traditional trinity in game.

So how come we have light, medium, and heavy armor sets?

Doesn’t that pigeonhole certain professions or give the heavy professions an advantage as they can deal a lot of damage, take a hit, and cleanse themselves of conditions better than other professions?

Now, give us Anise's armor.

I’m pretty sure they want some NPCs to just have a unique appearance compared to players.
Besides, it’s really not that exciting of an outift. Looks pretty similar to most of the light armor for humans actually…

No it doesn’t look like other outfits. The leggings in particular are nice. Currently the majority of choices for light armour leggings are… patently insulting Lolita skirts, flamboyant hoop skirts that threaten to knock planets out of orbit with their exceptionally wide berth, or potato sacks.

The corset is nice too.

I saw this look on rededit and thought it was tasteful as well.

Can we have some of that rather than the crazy jungle outfit, winter parkas, and insulting Lolita skirts?
