A Commander of Blackgate!

I also had this issue. It caused me to miss finishing my daily by about 10 seconds :|
So, someone on the popular LFG site is posting under my name (there is no sign-up or way to prevent this afaik) telling people to send me a junk item in exchange for gold because I’m quitting.
“Hello! I’m giving up on GW2 so I’m giving away my gold and precursors. I’ve got 880g and 2 precursors. Everyone who sends me an omnomberry will receive 10g and a chance for a precursor! Good luck!”
so far, like 20 people have contacted me in some way because of this. i’ve received many mails. I’ve sent back 99% of the berries, but there were a couple take/delete incidents before i was told what was happening, so i don’t know who to send some of these berries back to. i’m actually pretty scared i’ll get banned for this! :c
is there anything that can be done to stop this?
Myself and many of the EBG JP portalling mesmers I’ve known prefer to work together with their opponent servers’ mesmers so that everyone can benefit without worrying about being severely murdered without warning. This isn’t hard to set up, but very difficult to maintain for long periods of time for a number of reasons- including RP warmongers, misunderstandings with auto-attack, new guys curious about the trap switches, and JP gank guilds.
The first two, while annoying, don’t very often ruin things beyond repair. The third, usually prevented by just telling people not to mess with the switches, is almost always a dealbreaker. The fourth, however, is ruinous, and usually shakes the willingness of each server involved to participate in the future.
Now, don’t get me wrong. I’m not calling out any particular JP camp guild or trying to say it should be against the rules to fight in the JP or mneh beh no moar pvp neh or anything like that. I just want to crowdsource ideas on how partnering mesmers can better preserve peace in the EBG JP.
KN just took SM in 1.435 minutes with a 14-golem crash!
Res had a blast in EB and KNBL tonight
we nearly got garrison and you nearly got hills, its a pity the wall upgrade went through when the wall was at 5%
that fight in stargrove to take out those trebs was great, wish I had recorded it, I was the insane mesmer who portalled our guys in while taking on 10 of you :P
to the MEOW ranger who I fought at south of hills, I was the asura that allowed the guardian to get away from you, that was a lot of fun, both of us down but I just got you in the end
next time take out my clones first if im down you would have got me if you had
Keep up the good fights everyone
ahh man that was a great fight! that awesome portal misdirection was what got us in the end. i was the only mesmer with that team and we dropped all our conditions on the closest portal while you all came in through the farthest haha. had a blast, good show, old boys!
I’ve been pondering just having a 5th BL in the center of the BL maps with all 4 WvW JPs. Balancing PvE tears is cool but queues are still an issue for large servers.
I get this issue a lot, because I have a slow internet connection. I’ll be running to a location, see a group of dudes, go “oh kitten” and run.
To me, I’ve run away and escaped.
To my internet, lag has prevented this action from coming across.
To the game, I’ve completely stopped moving and am murdered to death.
When the lag clears, I’m still running, feeling safe, but as my internet starts to handle things as it should, I start taking the hits of damage as I normally would have. Can’t do anything except keep moving, eventually go down, and die. My corpse somehow ends up at the place where I had been running to the entire time, because that’s where people res me at.
Lag makes things all kinds of weird.
Having so much fun fighting this week! BH and PiNK have been relentless, even though (I’m pretty sure, at least) PiNK are in lower form than usual due to the time of night I get on. I only see 5-10 at a time but they’re sharp fighters! Urge definitely has some serious stepping up to do as far as PvP goes, but they’ve shown some skill at fast grabs!
Really enjoying actually having to put some work into the game, after these past few weeks. I wanna stay in T2 forever

I really like this idea, and it’s something I’ve wanted for a long time as a commander.
Personally not enough commanders use the squad chat. Something i try to enforce regularly when there is more then one commander on the map. that helps a little. Otherwise i take the same approach a fellow commander does, only use caps XD
The problem with squad chat is two-fold. A, there’s no way to force everyone around you to join your squad, so some players may be missing out on important commands. B, people don’t often join squads to begin with.
Having fought Maguuma for a long time (magoona + phlegmry bay BFFs), having spent a week or so on DB, and then being trapped on Kaineng after an accidental transfer right before the deadline, I think can draw a few outlines on each server’s strengths.
Maguuma has almost no nighttime presence, but shines during the day.
Dragonbrand has a fine daytime presence and a lackluster but capable nighttime presence. They’ll put up a good fight, day and night.
Kaineng’s daytime presence is quickly learning, and at this moment seems to consist mostly of pugs; our nightcrew astounds. We’ll likely struggle to attack during the day, but I think our midnight crew will be able to overcome DB’s.That said, I feel Cryneng’s going to take 1st, based solely on what I’ve observed. Wahgonbrand and the Magoobers will probably end up fighting over 2nd.
Also mag’s garrison defense was ridonkulous today. SO MUCH FUN. <3
Chinese New Year’s is this week. May explain “lackluster”.
Even while I was on DB their night crew didn’t seem that great, but maybe that’s changed? Guess we’ll find out when the celebration’s passed, but it’ll probably be too late by then score-wise.
LOL accidental transfer to kaineng just before deadline. I don’t buy it.
I was just editing in a “pls don’t waste everyone’s time calling bullkitten on that”, decided to scrap it, refreshed, saw this, and sighed so hard my lungs fell out. :C
It really was accidental, though. Left a good guild full of friends behind and kitten if I’m paying $35 to get back there. Thank god for guesting.
