Hair through hats and helms

Wearing a hat/helmet is ridiculous.. no point of actually waste time personalizing and styling your character when the hair is removed when wearing a head gear. I don’t think that this issue would be a headache for ANet, so would someone look this up ? It could be of minor importance but it makes it feel like a major bug when facing high-end graphics and players who care about cosmetics.

I think they should check this up and treat it more carefully and with more importance.

Mesmers & thieves too powerful?

I was obviously over-exaggerating the numbers in my post, But I figured the Mesmer & thief players would be the ones posting trying to back up how “even” their class is.

Just for your information, I also play ranger in pvp and haven’t complained about thieves or mesmers overkilling anyone.
And also, people also post their opinion. Maybe you should try playing the characters you mentioned and see for yourself the truth and the complexity of each. Characters are far from imbalanced. You just need to play smart and with skill.

My personal opinion: Heartseeker Ability Is Over the Top

in PvP

Heartseeker is a spammable execute combo finisher combined with a short range gap closer and a which increases in damage inversely to an opponent’s health.

Overall the PvP in this game eschews spammy ‘iwin’ mechanics, yet this ability stands out dramatically from the rest. I’ve had players spam it 5 times in a row, taking off upward of 50%+ of my hp bar. Given a player can only dodge 2, maybe 3 times maximum, it seems rather imbalanced to have it remain in-game as it stands.

Tournament gameplay may produce somewhat different results, but in a pick-up game of sPvP, two thieves assist-training ‘skillseeker’ together will win a match 9 times out of 10.

There are many ways this ability can be adjusted to discourage this kind of spam-to-win behavior. I’m quite disappointed it went live in its current form.

To verify how imbalanced it is, I created a level 1 thief, (appropriately named Skillseeker), cobbled together a spec and ran into pick-up sPvP and managed to finish consistently in the top two spots for my team.

TLDR: Heartseeker, in its current form, is an ability that belongs in a game with horrible, mindless PvP like Rift, not Guild Wars 2.

You think ’’Heartseeker’’ is over the top ? Try it on a Guardian and see the ’’results’’? Or even try it on the Mesmer’s multiple ilussions.

The game is fine and I believe it is much more balanced than it’s predecessor GW1.
People has to erase those ‘’ ready pvpwiki builds’’ that used just to overcome 1 or 2 situations.
You want to overcome someone, use different weapons, tactics, skills or even change a character. Just practice on it.

Being able to switch professions midgame

What’s wrong with switching weapons mid-game if I have them in my bag? Are you saying I can’t be prepared to tackle any situation and everyone should blindly guess at what their opponents will be using??

You have 5 minutes to get ready before the match starts, it is your own fault if you didn’t think of possible things you’ll go against and have a balanced comp around it.

Allowing weapon swapping at any time of the game just becomes a blind guessing of what is your enemy bringing next and brings up a lot more issues related to combo fields/finishers.

I agree with DeathbyCactus.. Are you all suggesting that a ‘’leave it by chance’’ would be a solution for tournaments? Are you suggesting the old Random Arenas in Guild Wars 1 ? oh.. or is it the pre-match preset builds that you could wiki online and spam it on a character until it works? Are you all above familiar with the pvp system in Guild wars 1 ?

Weapon changing is a way of managing your skills differently in each situation. If there where pre-set builds you would only play in blind and some builds would always be a favorite. This would create a huge instability in the game balance. (pvp hammer-warriors in the good old GW).

All these where checked and balanced. That is the point of PvP in GW2. To have many possibilities and opportunities to face any situation. That makes the system balanced.

It’s pretty obvious to me that this is unintended.

Hell currently you can leave a tournament match to rejoin with another character.

So what? If you change a character mid-game, that will erase your score on the current game tablet and you will have to start over just as entering a new game. So what’s the difference. In order to win, all team players need to contribute points. (tournaments are the only thing that you can gain from the team win). The only thing you can win personally is the Glory and Rank points which are calculated through your character contribution through the current match. Changing character will sacrifice that points but would also help you gain some if you feel that the character you currently play is unable to stand on the score table. So even if you have the opportunity, is it worth it ?

Mesmers & thieves too powerful?

Bah.. Did you consider the Guardian? Almost impossible for a thief alone to bring down a ‘’never-ending self healing machine’’ .
Thus the engineer? An engineer only needs to lay some mines and 2 turrets to evaporate some of the Mesmer’s illusions.
I believe the system is balanced and people should test different ways, weapons, tactics in game which suits each situation.

downed state!

It is kinda annoying but also thats the point of it. So planning a strategy with teamates able to aid you and/or rally so you could continue killing. After all, when you ’’down’’ someone the kill counts for you whether he respawns or not.
Thus if the kills where so instant there would be numerous and foggy deaths everywhere with loads of respawns. That would be bit too much for lets say 5-6 men teams
