Yes there is far too much CC in GW2. Each class should have 1 CC on a 30 to 60 second CD. The less control you have over your character, the less the game becomes about skillful gameplay.
Last season it was much better, and probably in the best place it has been for ranked so far. This season after the changes it is a horror show. It desperately needs to be addressed.
So, we’ll likely change things in phases so we don’t over-correct. Here’s what we’re thinking for a phase 1:
- Reduce downstate invuln duration to around .1s. This means you still get the full condi cleanse, but you can keep cleaving.
- Cap rally distance.

Edit for clarity: these would be PvP-only changes. Also, not including any skill proposals at this point.
Seems like a good start. The downstate HP and rez heal per tick needs to be reduced as well. Rally should be eliminated from PvP entirely.
I find them overall to be the easiest class to kill, even with non-HoT builds.
Yeah right lol. They can outheal the damage of 2 pure DPS classes, and if it does get to be too much they can just disengage the fight and return 10 seconds later at 100% health.
To always make your win / loss ratio be 50/50 regardless. I’m very off put by the idea to be honest. If you win a few games in a row, the game is going to force you to lose a few to make up the difference, and vice versa. I recently passed the 1000 games mark in sPvP. 503 wins, 497 losses, About 98% of those solo queue. So the algorithms and mechanics working behind the scenes that ensure every player is always 50/50 are working pretty well I’d say. I understand Anet wants balanced matches, and i do too, but the way its manipulating wins and losses to ensure an even win / loss ratio just doesn’t seem right.

I don’t know why they are going unchecked, surely Anet is aware. Something needs to be done soon because they are single handedly ruining pvp.
