Trying to figure out best leveling weapons (I am not that big of a weapon swapping kind of guy right now – never have been sadly).

I like to DPS to be honest and I like damage.

Sword / Torch
-or-
Greatsword

Which is the best for a “Lazy leveler” like me?

Sword / Torch for hearts and Greatsword for events for AoE mob tagging?

Hi All!

New player to the game – I love the type of class that is close to a bard or Spellsword type.

Mixture between a Warrior and Mage somewhat…(Able to buff himself / herself to do more damage or bring utility to the team).

Guardian is more defensive I understand;
Warrior is more offensive;
Mesmer is more utility.

Is that correct?

What is the metagame like at 80 in BOTH pve and pvp?

I got Mesmer to 20 with GS and Sword / Sword and it felt…UP…(not sure endgame) its painful to level (and I get that the reward is greater at the end theory but I am scared of investing that much time only to find out I hate the class..)

Warrior was GOOD (only to level 15) and I felt it was good damage with Axe Axe…but I felt it was very straight forward really…just run in spam AA and 2,3 and maybe 5 if needed…

Guardian I JUST started…and its VERY different in a good way – it felt like a hybrid between Mesmer and Warrior (I heard about Spirit Weapons??)

What is Guardian about – was I wrong about the above understandings of the game?

If I am a guardian in Meta PVP/PVE – am I just supposed to tank or can I actually out DPS warriors and mesmers etc.?

I do like to hit hard…(Thief will be my main alt after guardian for PvP solo).

So wait…I am confused.

Warrior is a DPS Train and is not really wanted in high end fracs….so then whats the point in having a warrior?

Or is Warrior more of a PvP fighter due to the damage?

Then when do I want a Mesmer over a Warrior?

Hey all!

Been on and off a little while now – I love guild wars 2 but I always quit around level 20ish because i cannot stop swapping classes!

I am an old school gamer – pick a main class and develop him until max level and raid etc. With him and level an alt class in spare time.

I love the warrior, mesmer and thief however for my main I cannot decide between mesmer or Warrior.

Some general info on me:
- love the mesmer idea of controlling people

- sword sword is awesome and fits my game play -mesmer is high dps as S/S but how about warrior?

- I like the warrior simply due to the ease of leveling I found mesmer tougher than most classes and warrior is simply hack and slash.

I don’t mind being a support kind of guy to help my team – but I keep hearing I am as a mesmer going to be focused into specific weapons due to meta….same with warrior.

What is each class about really?
How do they play mid game and then endgame?
What are the cons of each class?
What are the pros?

Any other general info you can share with me?
