Pet Memorial

Hey just an idea that I think would touch many players. My golden retriever passed away 1 month ago. Harley was a fantastic dog, buddy, and like a child to my wife (who is also a player. When talking about it to my guild many members have had great pets and are still grieving for them. We checked to see if we could create a memorial in our guild hall for the pets but nothing like a statue or a plaque was available. So just asking, I know you guys are busier then bees, but would it be difficult to create a statue that we could raise in our guild halls that shows someone on one knee with a hand on a feline on one side and a hand on a canine on the other. Like I said I think this might go over big with a lot of players. So many have lost beloved pets that it would be a real jerk on the heart to be able to put one up in our guild halls. Love you guys for all your work. Thanks!

Bracers for the monks could add additional abilities (enabling weaponless fighting) as the toon levels go up. also there are several weapons that are tied to monks such as a zen monk-bow and arrow, or some of the specialized weapons tied to Shaolin Monks.

I would love to see gw2 bring forward a monk. I’ve talked to other characters in the pvp lobby and the topic is always quick to get people saying they want the monk also and what traits he/she would have. You guys have been so great at balancing characters, I just know a monk would be a lot of fun with spin kicks, jumping side kicks, iron palm, iron skin, etc.

Went through the process to raise gate to access view -gate chains will not respond to any presence of characters and allow interactions. Went through it 4 times with this toon and I’ve done it before with other toons so I know how to do it. Another char was with me and tried to do it also and couldn’t and said it was bugged yesterday also. Please fix bug.
Thanks

In the old daily system I never ‘aimed’ at dailies except if I had 4/5 I would often do the 5th to complete it. The end result is that I don’t have as many laurels as others, but that doesn’t bother me. I always did get some AP.

I agree! In the old system I never really aimed at getting the dailies most of the time but went ahead and just played and had fun and it seemed like the dailies got done automatically through normal play. It’s true, it took longer to get the dailies that way but I was having much more fun. Isn’t that the idea of playing a game? It is for me.

I’m still not interested in pvp or wvw or fractals. I understand that some day when I’ve done everything else I may want to push into fractals so I can get stuff to craft ascended gear but if there were any other way to do that I would. The latest push in the game in the dailies and pvp tournaments has gotten me to start checking other online games. I realize now with the amount of money I’ve been dumping into this game for chests and keys, added character slots, expansion of bank sections, etc, etc, that I could be playing an online game with a monthly fee and still be doing just as well.
But for right now I’ll play the way I want to play and do what I want to do in the game without being pushed subtly or directly by devs. But no more investment in the game. I am watching other online games. I like the customization of the characters in this game and they actually look like people-which to me is a big plus. But who knows how long I’ll be staying. There are a lot of talented developers out there and this isn’t the only game in town.

They’re trying to use this to inflate participation metrics and squeeze as much out of existing content as they can, under the pretense of ‘making it better’.

ANet? Pay attention, please.

WE DON’T WANT YOU TO ‘MAKE IT BETTER’. WE WANT YOU TO STOP MESSING UP GAME CONTENT THAT IS FINE WITH YOUR RESTRICTIONS ON OUR CHOICES.

For almost a year they’ve been on a campaign to turn ‘play it your way’ into ‘YOU MUST DO IT THIS WAY OR ELSE’. Guess what? OR ELSE is going to turn into ‘so long and thanks for nothing, losers!’ for a lot of players if you keep it up.

Speak for yourself, the mouse in your pocket does not count.

I guess you haven’t been paying attention! He’s not by himself!

They should rename the game to Reward Wars 2, as it seems that is the only thing you people care about.

Seriously, is getting a small amount of AP and a few minor rewards really that important to you, that you feel you don’t want to play the game anymore? You say you enjoy a particular part of the game and claim the dailies are taking you away from that, but you are not seeing the truth of it. And the truth of it is, the reward is taking you away from the gameplay you enjoy. That is a decision YOU have made. It is not a compulsory action Anet has forced you to do. You either enjoy the gameplay, and get loot that way, or you chase a small amount of extra loot by doing other stuff that you might not always enjoy. It’s your choice and no-one is forcing you to make it one way or the other.

Again, the point of the dailies is to reward players for trying different things, not cater to your loot addiction. If you don’t like the dailies, don’t do them. It’s not a big loss. If you want the rewards, put in the effort for them. It doesn’t take long.

It’s not like the dailies are the only way of acquiring the rewards they provide is it? Not now the laurels are part of the log in rewards. There are no rewards from the dailies that you cannot get doing other things in the game, so it seems very selfish to me when I see people complaining about 1 or 2 dailies they don’t enjoy or can’t do. Either that or you’re simply not understanding the purpose of the dailies.

I enjoy the game with my wife and family. It’s fun to go kill a champion with the family and a few friends and discuss what we picked up. None of us is into player vs player. It just seems since the World Tournament in China that the desire of GW2 is try to push everyone into player vs player through fractals. It’s a shame because I can see players leaving because they are going to start looking around at new games when before they wouldn’t have. I think it’s just the feeling that the game is going more for pvp type action then anything else. I watch and see what happens but I’ve already stopped rezzing npcs and on days like today with 2 fractals I’ll log in and log off.

I don’t like fractals. I do wvw or mists very seldom. I do like to role play and just do pve stuff but you’re making me a 2nd class player although I’m willing to bet you’ve gotten more money from me buying stuff/gems then most players. If you continue to put 2 fractals as part of the daily I’ll probably hang on for a short time to see if it is a trend and if I see it is I’ll leave. I’ve got 5 80s and 9 characters. My wife plays also and has an extra character and 4 80s and plays with me but if I go she will also cause she doesn’t like to do fractals either.
What you should do is have enough for both to complete the dailies by doing their own thing. Add another item to the dailies and keep the requirement to complete it at 3 items plus the competionist. This would keep everyone happy, playing and spending money.

Like many people, I’m here to grouse about today’s PvE daily options. I don’t like doing fractals. I don’t find them fun, and I don’t want to do them.

And before anyone says anything about anything, I have played the kitten out of fractals. I have every fractal achievement, got every fractal achievement during the fractured update, and my fractal frequenter is sitting at 446/500. So yes, I have played fractals, given them a chance, and decided that they aren’t fun for me.

And that’s my problem with the new system. Before I could get dailies doing whatever content I felt like at the time: some days I hung out in Dry Top, other days I got them done in dungeons— half the time without even trying! But it was always possible to do them in a playstyle/area that I felt like enjoying on that particular day.

But the new system (and by extension Anet) doesn’t give a flying kitten about what I enjoy. It doesn’t care wether or not I’ve tried that content before, how many hours I gave it to make an impression on me, or what individual decision I came to as a grown kitten adult about wether or not I enjoyed that content (and that includes WvW and PvP too, not just fractals). It just doesn’t care.

Let’s all just be completely honest here: yeah, the PvPers and WvWers were well serviced by the change (and I’m genuinely glad for them), but that was just blind luck. Anet still doesn’t give a kitten. This isn’t about fun or innovative gameplay. This whole bloody boondogle is about those god kitten ed metrics that Anet keeps obsessing over. I mean holy hell, the fact that the bulk of the rewards are given just for logging in is proof of that. Since when the kitten is typing in my username and password “innovative gameplay”?

All this, and I mean all this, is just so that Anet can go into meetings with investers and CEOs and journalists and whatever and kitten over artificially inflated numbers. “See! See! Look at how many concurrent users we have! See! See! Look at how many more players are entering World versus World! See! See! Look at how succesful we are!”

Look, wether you like the new system or you hate it, wether it’s quicker and more convenient for you or a tediuos waste of your time, wether it gave you more options or took them away from you, we should all be disappointed. Disappointed and disgusted that Anet would rather sink time and resources into this gimmick of a system rather than create and/or refine content that’s genuinely compelling in its own right.

I like the fact in the past I could finish the daily just by doing my normal PvE roleplaying gaming. It took longer but I was enjoying the game a lot more. BRING BACK THE OLD DAILY!!!

//But really, Anet, I will start doing PvP/Fractals/WvW if I ever want to, not because you put them in a daily. It ain’t gonna happen. You’re just making me wonder what other MMOs are out there//

I know I’m beginning to look at new games now. And since I don’t care about pvp or wvw it won’t have to be an mmo and it will save me a lot of money. Don’t take too long GW2 to change the daily or you’ll see your player base plummet.

Put more options in the daily so I don’t have to do a fractal and lower characters can complete the daily would fix this.

Just want you to know that I hate the changes you have made to the daily. I have been playing a while now and have 9 characters 5 of which are 80s. I hate what you have done with the daily because 1. You almost always have to use an 80 character to get the daily because a lower character usually doesn’t have all the areas that you need to go to complete it. 2. I’m not into pvp or part of a team so I don’t like being forced into working with other people when I have an unusual schedule to complete the daily by doing fractals. 3. today’s requirements include 2 of the five to be doing fractals. So I can’t even begin to complete 3 because there is another that only completes if you do 3 of the others and that would require a fractal. I understand you have team competitions coming up for world championships and just had one. That’s really cool for those that like that but there are a lot of us that don’t play on teams and have fun playing with 1 person or by ourselves and just roleplaying. If the game is going to evolve into forced team playing and pvp then I will no longer be one of your players and I have dumped a lot of money into the game because I was having fun but if I’m going to become a 2nd class player and shoved to the side for pvp and team players I’ll find another game. I’m not alone in the way I think. I’ve been talking to other players since the dailies changed and they feel the same.
