PvE Healing/Support Thief

I personally run Signet of Malice as my heal skill.
I run Sword/Pistol + Shortbow because the auto-attacks AoEs which takes only one charge from a venom, easy condition removal, and though it’s been slightly nerfed, PW is extremely useful in interrupting/evading/healing yourself, especially if you have Signet of Malice.

I’ve also been running this build in WvW with some success. I feel like I’m one of the few thieves that actually like Basilisk Venom the way it is now. Broke the stun? Nope, sorry, my teammate just restoned you. On occasion I’ll switch it out for Dagger Storm and infiltrate them, using the signet’s auto heal and venoms to keep me alive.

Yeah I agree, I guess I should’ve clarified. I’m not looking for a huge number of skills like that other game but just a couple more additional options for weapons. Like you said, 1hsword main hand is basically just for chasing down fleeing opponents.

One of the things that I really miss from GW1 is the incredible number of skills each class there was to offer, and how a player could build these skills into any build they wanted to. Sure, eventually meta-builds developed for PvE, PvP, HA, etc. but there were still an incredible amount of diversity and a constant need to watch for rebalancing.

So what I propose is that GW2 bring back some of that skill variety. Instead of having set skills for a main hand weapon and an offhand weapon, offer players a choice of selecting what skills they would like to use as they go about their adventure.

For example, instead of Sever Artery -> Gash -> Final Thrust on 1-slot for a 1h sword mainhand on a Warrior, you could select another chain say perhaps Sun and Moon Slash -> Galrath Slash -> Dragon Slash which gives a few strikes of adrenaline, harking back to GW1 mechanics(so much slashing, lols).

So that’s the basic idea. Allow players to replace mainhand/offhand weapon skills with related skills to create even more diverse classes and abilities.

Note: I realize that what some devs may think of this. It could lead back to too much specialization, forming the “Holy Trinity of the Tank, DPS, and Healer” Devs could also argue that there’s enough variety in the classes already, and that even after a month, we have not discovered all of them yet. So, what they choose to think of this suggestion is up to the players and up to them.

And if you would wait for the stealth to come up while you still haven’t used teleport, you would be perfectly able to escape in PvE.

I’ve tried this before, but the problem is that when you stealth, the camera immediately re positions itself and the stealth is so short that I can’t aim the teleport during that time.
