If you get nuked down by a HS, HS, HS thief, then the problem is you.

And not the fact that with 1,600 toughness you are still taking 16,000 damage in ONE hit. Yeah sure, what ever you say. You can stop the HS spamming by going Vapor or using Arcane Shield – then what? From the VERY first hit you are at a huge disadvantage.

Being that you will now have very little health left they will have stealth back up very soon and will be able to repeat the same thing over and over again until you finally die. Sure you might make a couple run away as the second attempt you will know they are there but i see plenty of Thieves save Bask Venom knowing that it isn’t needed on the first try, they will ALWAYS hit the BS first time around if you have no idea they are there.

Hate to be “that” guy, but I think this is either l2p issue, or you got beat by a thief in one incident and came to the forums to QQ. If they land a 16k bs, grats to them, but you have heals and utilities, use them. After that initial opener they shouldn’t land another backstab. I counter thieves all the time as d/d.

Update: I got the game portforwarded, but I’m still lagging way more than usual, but only in GW2 it seems.

I’ve been having some crazy, like just straight up ridiculous lag issues, resulting in sometimes 10+ second skill lag. But at other times, it’s a completely perfect connection and I feel no disturbances.

So my first thing I’d like to do to try and solve these issues is port forwarding the game, however; I can’t find any guides on how to do so with my certain router. I use the At&t 5031NV, which is the router they gave me, which also doubles as my modem too. Kinda odd to me, but I wasn’t the one that set it up.

If anyone can share with me how to portforward GW2 on this router it’d be greatly appreciated, or if you’ve seen or had issues like this yourself and have found a solution I’d love to hear how also.

~1 the infamous video was not made by mend it was made by me so if you are upset about it and want to talk /w me I will explain it to you.

~1 1/2 the video was posted on the forums by an HoD member not a mend member. If they had not have found it and then posted it none of you would know about it. (good job finding it btw w/e posted)

1) You made it but as a part of the leadership of Mend, you are suppose to be an effective role model ( a representative of your guild) to the HoD Community.
2)An HoD member did post the video however you did have intent to show it publicly ( to a few members or the whole server I don’t now). I heard your convo on TS3 on how you were making one last farewell to HoD video that was to be accompanied by the song War Pigs by Black Sabbath (as you were recording your own version of it). That creepy immature video was playing that music. I can only assume that was your last farewell video.

You are a very skilled commander and mesmer who had a lot of respect ( and still do) from the HoD community (most people loved to follow you in WvW because they knew you knew what you were doing). You took the dirt road instead of the high ground that you should have taken during all the insult throwing of some of the HoD members. That was a mistake.

I know it is hard for you Geist (and for Flappy) but you need to just ignore the pokes at Mend from HoD members (including my own little poke). Making another video “for our entertainment” would only give some of the forum instigators the fuel they need to troll you more.

Flappy needs to lay off the insulting whispers to members too (yes we have a screenshot)

Just ignore HoD and have a fun matchup. (I know i’ve had fun this week)

I dont get all of this…are you guys mad at [Mend] because you dont like them or because they left? From what i gather from looking at it, seemed they werent all too popular but the main reason for the hate is that they left the server. A “how dare you leave us even though we hate you” kind of thing, something [Buns] knows all too well.

[Mend] is a great guild and has many likable and skilled players, I for one am happy they decided to stay on IoJ when a lot of other guilds decided it was time to leave. Major props to them for being the only transfer guild to stay the entire season, even though we were matched up in impossible to win matchups, with much higher tiered servers.

Haven’t been on much this match up but im sure theres plenty of killing and being killed by either side, it just so happens that one side is the only one forum waring over it.

I also wonder what the previous parts of that conversation was but theres no need to post it all over these forums, from what im seeing of this matchup….[Mend] was right in leaving Hod.

Well you see, what had happened was (and this is from my perspective, I have no “insider” story on what might be factually correct in all this, but i believe most of it to be) Mend rightly deserved about 90% of the hate they got. They continuously bashed on people who didn’t play the way they did, which basically made them enemies with all of HoD’s rather decent sized roaming population at the time, and then bashed other guilds who didn’t do what they wanted, which from what I saw was sit in towers and then rely on siege to win against enemy PuG zergs. I really have no idea what their win/lose situation was in fights, but I hope to god with all the siege they used that they wiped those PuG zergs.

After getting fed up with this “hate”, which was mostly just stuff redirected back at them as Flappy during his time on HoD came off the most as quite the kitten bag for reasons states above, they basically said “Bye HoD we’re leaving because you’re bad and we’re so much better than you, blah blah, blah blah, screw you guys, etc.” and left. Resulting in the hate most of HoD has for them now.

Sure some of us may have taken things too far every now and then, but I don’t regret it one bit. And I’m enjoying wiping every single small/solo Mend group I see this week and it feels kitten good.

When I say this you’re probably thinking zergs, class balance, condis, noobs, PvE’ers, or something like that right? Nope. I’m kitten ed off about the motherkittening coyotes being gone. I felt a real spiritual native american connection to these guys every time I killed them for stacks, but now I can’t have that anymore, and I’m sad

Good survivability with the 1.8k toughness, and at 1.4k vitality I have enough health to get condis off without melting and to also survive long enough with my heals. With 2k power, 3k attack, and 40% crit change (make sure you have 25 stacks)/51% crit damage I am able to put really good damage on a target while surviving in most outnumbered situations. D/D ele can be really amazing if played with the right skill, however it’s not for everyone.

I’ve been in EB with a guildie and 2 of us cause orange swords twice today, once at spel and again inside dredge.

Edit: at the moment I’m in SF’s area of EB but so far the only person there who can fight without bringing 10+ people is the BS thief so you might find me in HoD’s area now or with the zerg :/

I’m on HoD and roam mostly in any of the BL’s. Like to stay away from EB cause it’s a lot of zerg zerg zerg. You’ll normally find me running around solo or with 1-2 other people.

Everyone should really stop complaining about the 50 man zergs. We see it 80% of our matchup’s however people only bring it up when they lose to it, never if they win. However, if that 50 man zerg is “running around spamming 1” then a dedicated 15-20+ skilled group can wipe them. Yes, I know it’s shocking, but it’s do-able. Just ask that giant ET zerg running around last night how much fun they had at ogrewatch.

I think HoD is the saddest server I’ve seen since Yak’s Bend. Even the roamers are chicken kittens who won’t fight without outnumbering you.

I don’t know which roamers you’re talking about but you obviously haven’t been meeting our serious roamers.

“Again, the real test of prowess is in sPvP, cause you may hold these little “events” to test a PvE build, but you can have just as much effectiveness doing that in a PvE area. You are rarely gonna get 1v1’s in a WvW match (as that defeats the purpose of the game entirely). So testing your skills is kinda worthless. Do you realize how idiotic this makes you sound and how bad this makes our server look? Now to why it’s idiotic, it’s not a PvE build, it’s a WvW build, HUGE difference. One is meant for killing mobs, the other is for killing other living, breathing, and thinking (most of the time) people, therefore you cannot just as effectively practice in PvE because it’s not the same experience at all. “Testing your skills is kind of worthless”, wow….just wow. You test your skills to become a better player, you may be thinking “well how does this affect my zerg? we have potato amount of people, why would I care about skill.” Let me tell you how, because your group is only as good as its weakest link. If you can’t beat the player in front of you then how will you beat them when it’s group vs group? You won’t, they will beat you. That’s why individual skill matters. That’s why coordinated, skilled players in groups such as KoM and PAXA, just using the ones I’m familiar with for example, can win against twice their numbers and sometimes even more. You may say “well that doesn’t matter cause we don’t fight those groups” but what happens when you find one in open field and they absolutely destroy your sweet little kitten before you can run to the nearest tower/keep/castle and start humping some seige? Well now you’re gonna start losing that sweet PPT that you care so much about because they’ll just wipe you time after time and start taking their stuff back or even yours.

TL;DR – Individual skill matters very much and those who don’t think so are idiots and are a burden to their server.

NSP I would advise you not to shoot cannons under this bridge anymore, it may collapse. Plus does 3v8+ really call for cannons?

Well water isn’t really meant to be offensive, however if you play d/d cone of cold (water 2) does a good some of damage.

I don’t get what all this kittening is about. Ele’s are fine, I have no problem fighting anything except really good engis and phantasm mesmers and not even that after the mesmer nerf last patch. Learn how to play the class and you will do absolutely fine in PvP. Now in PvE I have no idea about balance, but I have never had a problem getting a group for a dungeon and have absolutely never been kicked just because of my class. Eles bring a lot to the table and you’d realize it if you spent more time mastering the class than complaining on the forums.

I have ran into nothing but trash from NSP today, I’m quite disappointed. Hopefully I’m just getting lucky and scraping the bottom of the barrel. Stay classy NSP:

Never played either of y’all before (on HoD but i’m fairly new to the game) but if you have any roamers at all send em out, zergbusting is only so viable with 2 people and normally ends with us getting steamrolled by 10+ so fair fights would be nice.

Not to undermine you or anything, but what’s the advantage of going to a high tier server? Go ahead and take a look down at t7 and 8, which would benefit amazingly from 400+ people transfering to them. HoD is a well rounded server with quite a few good WvW guilds just lacking the numbers. We continually fight servers way above us with this new match up and with your numbers we could prosper and fly through the ranks of server. So before you click that transfer button just think…what would jesus do? Go to a server with annoying already extremely stacked server with q’s to get into maps (gl getting 400+ more people into already queue’d maps) or come down where you’re really needed and will be celebrated? I think the answer is quite obvious. If you need any more information we have our own server with forums and a server wide mumble that would be more than willing to host your guilds if needed. We have weekly WvW meetings to discuss reset night and what needs to happen. No giants blob fests, yay! Do you want to have a server where roaming groups really matter and combat tactics actually matter and are greatly respected. (PAXA, KoM, etc.) If so, HoD is for you.

Looks like SF needs a what siege is useful for what lesson, or at least people to win when they have the number advantage instead of falling back to the false hope of mortars killing us.
