No to the Birdseye view/MOBA-style camera, at least for the player. That’d ruin the majority of the PvP by trying too much to be a MOBA.
A Birdseye spectator mode would be fine for viewing, even freecam would be great. But if players could use birdseye view, it’d force players to have to use it to be on equal footing.
Yeah. I meant for both pvp instance and moba style camera just for spectators – not for players!! edited the post for more clarity,
game modes like 5v5 8v8 ranked etc is definitely good!! I will add that!
Thank you for this thread.
I was talking with my team mates how there is no announcement regarding PvP from ANet and its putting the moral of hope down
I gathered some ideas for tPvP can find them: here
I completely support this and was trying to do the same through multiple posts on Reddit and diff places
I made another thread on the forums, just for ANet’s attention, can find it here
HD GW2 made another thread: GW2 as E-Sports .
It contains link to all the major podcasts, coverage and commentaries which will get u started. There is a growing community on fire, not to mention the number of teams.
I am not sure whether i’ll be able to edit the post to add more stuff but, from what I gathered – these should be essential things for GW2 to have soon in order to catch the momentum of PvP teams.
- Spectator mode
- Ranking system which will put apart premade teams and hot-joins
- Private instances for tournaments, practices, friendly matches
- Dueling – solved by the private servers
- Further developing of balanced maps – possibly without underwater combat (not balanced atm) or sharks
- More PvP modes – 5v5/8v8 something more resembling gw1?
- MOBA looking like camera for spectators – if you gave the viewer a possible camera mode where he can experience the game from bird’s eye view. It gives a sense of strategy understanding, and is more similar to watching LOL / Dota 2 games. You can always go to players perspective to experience the fight up close. – The mode is about points not 1v1.
If you have ideas, shoot em, can add them!
This is obviously an attempt to catch ANet’s attention
Best regards,
Knocknoq
