Gold in real life is rare, there’s only been so much of it found and so much of it available.

The situation we have here though is more analogous to diamond. A material that is actually plentiful, but it’s supply, availability and price is entirely controlled by a single company who has opted to market them as rare

Pixels are essentially free, the price associated and the rareness of them is dictated entirely by arenanet.

I opened quite a few Black Lion Chests back when the tonic reward was a specific one, such as Blue Moa Tonic. I’m wondering if there is a way to revert them into Mystery Tonics now? It would be nice to save bank space, as well as have the more of the component for the Halloween chest recipe.

Seeing as how a good many of us are opening Black Lions chests lately, and filling our bags with these harvesting tools, I thought I’d ask why they’re only as good as steel tools? The chests drop all the way up to level 80, so I would think they should at least be as good as Mithril tools, yes?

EDIT: I was indeed confusing the BL pick with the Master Pick. I had it in my head that they were the same quality level, but see now that the BL picks work on everything.

Since it’s impossible to fill orders beneath NPC price, couldn’t you make it impossible to place the order in the first place?

In fact, could you also make it impossible to place a buy order for an item that can’t be sold period (such as Lemons) to clear up some of the clutter?
