Been having similar crashing problems using a GTX 670.
I alleviated some of the crashes by ensuring ’Prefer Maximum Performance" is selected for Power Management Mode in the Nvidia Control Panel settings. (both Global and Program) settings.
Other than that, I am at a loss as to why it keeps occurring. It isn’t a BSOD. My middle screen( powered by the GTX 670) crashes to a greyish-brownish color while my two auxiliary screens (powered from an 8800) remain up and running. But my computer freezes and requires a hard reset.
I’ll post if I Find any other fixers. Please do the same as this is quite frustrating.
I’ve been having the same problem as you where the game crashes and it’s just my GTX 670. I run multiple monitors (middle on GTX 670 for main applications) two side screens with a GTX 260.
WHen the crash occurs just my middle screen is affected while the other two still display whatever they had.
I was not able to completely fix the crashing (it happens randomly) but I have found that by changing the Power Management Mode to Prefer Maximum Performance in the ‘manage 3D settings’ of your Nvidia Control panel, you may reduce the number of crashes. Make sure you set it for both global settings and program settings (GW2).
Other than that … I don’t know. IF you happen to find a fix for your problem, I’d be happy to hear it. Seeing as at the time I wrote this … I had just experienced another crash.
My computer specs are identical to yours.
Thank you Anthony for the time you spent on making the improvement.
Also experiencing crashes. At first I thought it was video card related but after running multiple tests and trying out other games I’m convinced it’s something recently changed with GW2.
My GTX 670 isn’t underpowered, undercooled, running old drivers, nor crashing when running Furmark3D, EQII, Borderlands2, or ‘the game that shan’t be named’ all on high settings.
Any issues you techs have discovered with Nvidia cards recently?
