My two major concerns are that this is all casual player content anyone in the world can walk up and assist with regardless of guild. That by sheer numbers, the missions are trivial.
Secondly, I wonder why these missions are of any use. There is no player progression through this system.
If the buff gained from the missions are not permanent then why am I going to run around as a deer for 30 minutes or do the same ‘more-projectiles’ DE chains with a guild?
For a guild banner logo?
For a 30 min buff so I can grind more gold to buy more cash shop gamble items?
The missions seem utterly pointless &/or trivial.
So like, there is no actual way to see Anet staff posts in a thread other than by fishing through pages?
Feel like the guesting feature is too little too late.
Many rolled on worlds during launch with the assumption guesting was only a few weeks delayed.
Turned into months. With no definite timetable given by Arena.net.
Most of my guild and friends no longer even play the game. There is little to no benefit now for me.
A huge “meh” at another sloppy feature of Guild Wars 2.
Okay, was hoping for a dev reply of some kind. Maybe that was a little too hopeful.
I do not intend for this to be a PVE vs. PVP argument. Yes, some players enjoy PVP & PVE. Kudos to such players. I do not enjoy PVP. Nothing more to say and no need to justify my preferred game mode.
On salvaging, gathering, etc for achievements;
Surely salvaging items, DEs, gathering and mundane kills [common to both modes of gameplay] is not sensibly comparable to asking non-PVP players to enter a game mode they may have no interest or enjoyment of.
Feels sorta inconsistent to have daily achievements not associated with PVP specific game modes in any way. Yet monthly achievements are dependent on a PVP game mode.
Still hoping for a dev response. Though I appreciate the player responses. Such as they are.
Hello. Already looked for an answer to this but was unlucky. If there is an official dev response on this then I would appreciate a link.
My question is such: Are there any plans for the monthly achievement to be obtainable to players uninterested in PVP and WvW?
Ranger with traps, axe/axe and long bow. Throw traps right at the spawn point/invuln point. And spam piercing arrows till they are in range of axe. Then tab, axe1. Tab, axe1. Tab, axe1 like a pro.
I feel the boss chests should guarantee a rare quality item useable to your class at the least.
The other day we ran CM expo’s Butler path. I got a handful of mediocre items. Most of which were unusable or undesirable to my Ranger. This is systemic of all the dungeons- something I just recently commented on actually. Too much effort for too little.
Definitely didn’t feel it was worth the effort of doing the dungeon. The supposed “end game” content of explorable mode.
I agree the lack of a PTR or PTS is extremely odd for a triple A MMO.
Would like more thorough patch notes, explanation from devs on their reasoning behind changes and a PTR where the player base can see these upcoming changes in practice.
Lack of PTR doesn’t seem on par with the standard set by other MMOs in the market, to be frank.
Aside from this, I am very frustrated by the wildly varying difficulty of of the dungeons and encounters. There seems to be a lot of “gotchas” to the mechanics behind encounters.
Sometimes a death can be avoided other times it seems random luck that 3 out of 5 mobs in a trash pull target you specifically. Or the big boss aoe spawns en masse at your location.
Now I get that the combat in Guild Wars 2 is meant to be chaotic to a degree. Not a problem. Seems a cool idea. In practice it just feels sloppy, luck based and more often than not, a zerg fest.
I feel PVE in the game is just poorly designed across the board. No more so than in the dungeons which are so wildly chaotic as to be off putting to me. I don’t really see the point of giving myself a headache over them- it’s not very fun.
