The thing is that I’d like my main character to be different class now that I’ve had the opportunity to play all the classes at level 80. I prefer being thorough with one character rather than having dozens for various things.
I think a one-time reset for one character on an account should be offered, especially for those who dedicated a lot of time into a character who’s class turned out to be less than what they had hoped.
I’d like an option that resets my class and level but retains my skill points and everything I’ve explored and completed on the maps. The reason I only have one character is because map exploration is too boring in these games. Having to rediscover all those waypoints, points of interests, and complete those renown tasks is a snore-fest.
In memory of my beautiful cousin, Suona Choi (who passed away a few years ago), I’ll be giving away 100g to two people between 7pm -8pm GMT on January 28, 2015. The contest will be held after the completion of a randomly selected siege event in “The Silverwastes”. There will be 2 quiz questions. Players cannot submit more than one answer per question. Answers must be posted on Map chat. Players can only win once per 30 days (thought I can’t stop you from playing on an alt), so I ask that you not play within that time as a courtesy to those who haven’t won. Contest is open to all.
Some people may remember Suona. She used to play Aion and would give away random goodies in the game. Her final contest involved giving away several copies of GW2. She died shortly after the release of GW2. I miss her much.
I’ll be updating this post with future contests so If you have any questions or giveaway suggestions, post them here. Good luck.

You can play together with the “veterans,” and you still get gifts for each completion. You’re able to grind it out if you’re not good at it, but have an easier time if you are good at it.
I’m not seeing where the issue is here. If you want to take skill out of the equation altogether, why not just go play Sims instead?
I didn’t say to take skill out altogether. There’s a reason why these games are designed where skilled players can help lesser skilled players. That’s not the case with some of these events. I can use a keyboard an mouse well enough to play the actual game, but not Tap Tap Revenge or Super Mario Bros. At least with Toypocalypse, a player can enlist skilled help. Too bad that event doesn’t count either. Always some 12yr old offering alternate game suggestions.
Some of these events require significant keyboard proficiency to complete, and for players who aren’t able to use a keyboard well enough to quickly jump from platform to platform or quickly press the correct number at the right time, there’s little chance of them completing 11 of the provided events.
ALL of these events should be based on participation with a reasonable level of persistence, WIN or LOSE. I’ve played through 30 rounds of Snowball Mayhem only to learn that repeat events do not count and because of this, I’m stuck at 10 completions. I’m terrible at PvP, but it didn’t matter because each time a team won, it counted for everyone. On the other hand it took over an hour to correctly chime 13 bells for those choir events. I imagine that I would eventually reach the required total, but would the prize justify the effort when compared to someone who’s able to do the same event within several minutes?
You claim to have made this game friendly to new and veteran players so that they can play together and benefit. Seems like your special events were made to separate the two.
No joy in Mudville.
