I can confirm this bug and as well confirm that the third charge won’t execute cleanse and ths won’t remove condis. please fix this. Also, not sur eif bug but before this patch, we got condi removal on casting the mantras, plus the 3 charges as well, giving us 4 condi removals.

June 23 Specialization Changes

I don’t know if anyone has done the maths before, I just wanted to say a fun fact I just discovered doing the maths.

So before the specialization patch, there were 364,917,960 different trait combinations possible for each profession. That is assuming all 14 points were used. Now, after the specialization patch, there will be 196,830 different trait combinations possible for each profession. That is assuming all 9 points are used and selecting 3 out of 5 possible specialization lines. If we consider the upcoming elite specialization then we have 3 out of 6 possible lines and that gives us 393,660 combinations.

So we will have 364,721,130 less combinations to deal with after the patch. of course most of them were cheese builds with 5 adept traits and 9 minors for example. but i guess this makes balancing a lot easier.

Bundles bugged in the new Seeds of Truth

In the new instances of the chapter Seeds of Truth you are supposed to be Caithe and have another set of skills, but if you enter the instance as a +1, then you become a sylvari but retain your profession. However, there is a bug in the case of engineers (and probably other bundle classes like eles) when you try to equip any bundle. Your skill bar do the animation of switching weapons but you return to your normal weapons instead of the bundle. It does trigger any trait of equiping a budle or sigil of changing weapon, but that is of no big use if all you have is one weapon set on cooldown all the time. I had to change my build to Static Discharge to not rely on bundles during that instance.

My girlfriend and I have the exact same problem. We can’t even do our personal story because it keep disconnecting half the mission and we have to start over again.

This started a few days ago. we believe with the EotM patch.

I did a “gw2.exe -diag” and this is the result:

Also, of this builds which one would you recommend for dungeons, PVE and personal history?

I know they are thought for WvW, but Which one of the 3 builds can be adapted easier (no re-trait or having two armor sets since I have very little gold) like changing traits but only in the same line and maybe change skills. but keep same armor and trait points. Thanks a lot Osicat!

Hi guys.

I’m making my first build but I’m not sure what equipment to use.

The idea is to basically shatter continuously and interrupt with either SW4, Pistol 5 or Mantra of Distraction. when I interrupt I make damage plus vulnerability, extra vulnerability when I daze.

As for choosing Mantra of Recovery as a healing skill, it’s just because of the centaur runes which allow me to have perma swiftness. Null Field for Condi removal and Blink as Stun breaker and gap closer-runaway.

I chose Giver weapons to make my conditions last more so immobilize and bleeding get to shine a bit more since Runes of the Centaur already give +15% bleeding duration.

But I’m not sure what armor to use. Should I use a mix to get both power and condi damage? or go full zerker and remove Giver weapons (wasting Sharper Images and Runes of the Centaur #2)? or go Dire armor with zerker accessories to have some defense, condi damage, power, precision and crit damage?

I don’t know if this build has been thought before. If so, I’m sorry, I didn’t copied it.

Oh, and the build is mainly for PVE/Dungeons and maybe WvW.

I don’t have much resources so I’m shooting for a balanced builds that can work in both without having to respec every time (maybe changing skills or traits but only in the same lines like switching Rending Shatter for Mental Torment) I go from dungeons to WvW nor having to have two sets of armor.

I’m having this same issue, and what is worse, this error appeared DURING the “-repair” of GW2. that’s just stupid… It can’t even repair itself.

I noticed this happens when I update the game. What I have to do is to download the update in one computer and copy and replace the “GW2.dat” file to my other ocmputer and the error disappears.

It must mean then that the dat file is getting corrupted…

This is a radical idea, but here it goes. drop the turrets, give us golems. This golems can have different attacks or behaviors or what ever. they can follow you like ranger pets.
they can have battery that runs out and have to recharge during the cooldown of the skill. so we can have a rifle golem that mainly shoots or whatever, and a melee golem similar to thumper turret and with this you can add some other mechanics. I don’t know.

The main problem is the AI (which is a main problem for all pets actually) and the AoE specially for turrets since they dont move like ranger pets or necros pets so making them golems might help to save them from aoe.

I don’t know, I’m just brainstorming here.

what gear and traits should go with SD then? I know I have no stun breaker but with half soldier and 20 in inventions I should be able to survive more than berserker aren’t I?

I also thought about the 30 in tools for lower cooldown on SD but with full serker and no defensive traits you become very glass cannon and die like in one shot.

How do you stay alive in full berseker?

I wanted to know what do you guys think.

I chose Rifle since it is the bursty weapon of the engi and since SD is burst mainly, I thought they can go well together.

I chose Riffle Turret, Battering Ram and Toolkit because they are the shortest cooldown toolbelt skills that do direct damage. I also chose toolkit to have something to do after the burst is gone. Like pulling with magnet and prybar; or shield my kitten .

As for the traits; well obviously I need Static Discharge. I got Hair Trigger since I only have one toolkit and I don’t want to find myself with all skills in cooldown, but depending on how it feels I might change it for something else.

I got some traits in inventions to give me survivability.

And the 3 other traits I thought they would do good synergy. Modified Ammunition does more damage the more conditions I have up. Since rifle has very little conditions I picked Precise Sights and Inciendary Powder together with Sharpshooter minor trait to help me get some conditions. And since these last 3 traits are on crit proc, then my accessories and sigil help me get some precision.

The armor is basically half Soldier and half Berserker to have both offense and defense with as much power I can get.

Since I have no stun breaker and such, I went with runes of melandru to help me in those situations.

All of this is theorycraft. I have never run this build so I wanted to see what you guys think before investing my gold in this build.

It is mostly for PvE but it might work for PvP.

Since it has many procs on critical, my guess is that I should be focusing on precision to be able to proc. But I’m not sure how much precision and what second attribute to add.

Since I’m using pistols I guessed condition damage was a good choice. But then I read something about condition duration being better but only if you get like 50% or 100%. I dont know how much room will that leave for precision.

I also thought of crit damage since I was focusing on precision then doing more damage with criticals was a thought but I’m not sure if that is what is best for this build.

As you can guess already, it’s a burst/proc build, very glass cannon. So I was also guessing if it was a good idea to add thoughtness or vitality as second attribute.

So what would be your suggestions? both for PvE and PvP. Thanks.

ZXC -> strafe left, move back, strafe right.
V -> dodge (will rebind this to my mouse once i get my gaming mouse to work in game)

turn and move forward with mouse. Adjust your rotation speed.

Do you guys turn the camera with the mouse or use camera lock and turn with A and D? Do you use autorun or run with W or pressing both mouse buttons?

Thanks. i wouldn’t like to buy a 10 button mouse. I think that is somewhat like cheating against guys that use normal mouse… but I like the use of Q,E,Z,X,C for the utilities. My biggest complain could be the F1-F4 buttons. Trying to run, cast an utility and then quickly an F1 makes the travel distances of the fingers long and are akward.

Hi guys.

As must of you know, GW2 is a very fast pased high mobility game in which you can’t stop moving and can’t lose focus of the camera. Also there are many ways to control your character. For example you can press both buttons of the mouse and stirr with it, or you can press W and stirr with A and D buttons even strafe and autorun come into the equation.

At the same time, one has to use skills; which can also be cast different ways. You can press the buttons 1 through 0 and F1 to F4, or you can press them with the mouse.

And lastly, you can also remap all these keys, making the possibilities endless.

What I’m looking for is a setup that allows me to move, being able to turn quickly to follow an enemy, being able to cast my skills without juggling with the keyboard and mouse or having to look down the keyboard to see if my hand is possitioned correctly, etc. all this switching from mouse to keyboard or stirring with the mouse and not being able to click on the skill at the same time means waste of time and sometimes mistakes.

TL;DR: post your controls configurations and playstyle to see who has the most efficient.

How to correctly use HGH P/P condi in PVP

Hi guys. I recently found a build in this forum and while I understand the principle of getting some stacks of might with HGH and elixirs and then using pistols to put conditions, I’m not so sure about the nades. I mean, is there a rotation like static shot, blowtorch, change to nades, fire nade, nade barrage? Or are the nades there for certain situations?

Also when should I drink the elixirs? I mean I could drink all elixirs at the beginning but then they would be on CD. But if I dont drink them or toss them to save them, then I wont have might… so any enlightment on how exactly you run this build would be appreciated.

Well, there was a time a played certain MMORPG cough WoW cough and something I liked was that you could install plugins or at least arrange your abilities in the actionbars. So, what I did was to have all my abilities in the action bar and even though I couldn’t use certain ability untill I switched to another state (like berserker stance for example), I could still see the cooldown. Also I loved the macros. For example if I wanted this ability in certain stance, I could program a macro that checked if I was in the stance and cast it; and if not, it would switch me to the stance and cast it. All in a single button. So yeah that could be a solution or something.
