So from the sounds of it, my best bet maybe to pick a server that is the the bottom 5 rankings.

For instance:
Sorrow’s Furnace
Henge of Denravi
Eredon Terrace
Ferguson’s Crossing
Anvil Rock

It sounds like those servers have smaller zergs and maybe more small scale roaming groups.

Or is it better to pick a middle of the pack server?

For instance:

Ehmry Bay
Yak’s Bend
Stormbluff Isle
Kaineng
Darkhaven
Gate of Madness
Northern Shiverpeaks
Isle of Janthir
Devona’s Rest

I’d be worried about not being able to find fights on the lowest rank/pop servers. Is that an issue? It sucks roaming for an hour and maybe getting one fight or none.

What is tier 1?
I found this site: http://mos.millenium.org/na It lists the servers 1 – 15.
Is tier 1 the top 5 servers, top 10?

Is Anvil Rock completely dead? lol Do you find any fights at all, I’d like to be able to roam with 5 people an not BE the zerg because there isn’t anyone else playing. lol

Would anyone be able to tell me some of the best servers to pick if my main interest is small scale roaming WvW (8v8, 5v5, 5v15)?

I’m not interested in humping keeps or following a zerg. I’m interested in smaller scale WvW fights similar to DAoC 8v8s, does anything like that exist in GW2? If so could someone suggest the best servers to find that type of playstyle.
