Well, at least you voiced your opinions strongly without bias and gave good reasons for your displeasure. Better than the people who scream about this event ruining the game and that they have serious doubts about the worth of the game without actually defending their stance or taking a look at the game in a longer or broader view than one event, both past and future. As soon as they forget the fun they had during the Halloween event (excluding those morons who broke the bank paying for chest skins and then didn’t understand they were at fault), they found that the game is suddenly horrible and broken all across the board and that ArenaNet (most of them can’t even type out the full name) are incompetents for even releasing the game. You’ve at least shown that you can give them a chance the next time around, and that they can prove you wrong by their actions. Good post.

It would be nice if the people touting active events in their overflows would at least post what stage the event is in, or if they can just flat out confirm theirs is bugged. I am trying to find an active event for a friend, but if these “reset” events are just rumors based on misinformation, then everyone really is wasting their time.

And if he doesn’t, does it matter? Do you feel you deserve one more for knowing about Legendary crafting? Your post is awfully condescending and pointless if all you want to know is whether or not they are “worthy” of getting a precursor. If he wants to use it as his own weapon and doesn’t care about crafting, then more power to him.
I also missed the chest. I had died in an area no one could reach me to rez me. I waypointed and the chest disappeared in front of me. I just bought this game and am starting to wonder if it was worth it.
Not even remotely the same issue as the people posting in this thread. Complaining about one event where you likely died due to inexperience (just going on an assumption, you probably stood on the death location of the Ancient Karka and fell into the middle of the lava) is a pretty poor basis for demanding a make up reward. But sure, blame the developers and judge the game with a skewed perception due to a player error. Staging this fight as a one-time event was obviously an awful decision, but no one can be blamed for you dying but yourself.
I know it’s hard to read the market before any changes actually happen, but does anyone think it would be better to wait to buy one and see if there’s a significant price drop again like the one earlier today, or if that was just a sort of “end of the day” sort of drop, and it will pick back up again with the event proceeding farther tomorrow? I currently only have 2 gold and the market price is 18 gold (with the Karka and Drake being 15 gold). I was going to sell my Black Dye for 4 gold then convert gems to gold for the rest of it, but that’s a fairly risky expenditure of money just for a rare event mini that’s not actually exclusive to the event period, like the Spooky set was. I just don’t want to wait too long after the event just to see it jump in price to being comparable to the other five pre-existing Exotic minis, especially the Oakheart (I don’t think anything will begin to approach the Jackalope, but I could be wrong). I might not buy the darn thing at all, but it’s so cute and I love collecting rare minis. I’ve never seen any exotics this cheap after I progressed far enough in the game for gathering enough gold to be feasible, but the period for introduction of new stock into the market through the event chests is so small that I wouldn’t be able to make enough gold “naturally” in so short a time with my limited gold-making savvy. Just want some predictions or general opinions based on previous experiences with the marketplace, or even other games’ markets (as we haven’t yet experienced any other non-account bound rare mini providing events before in this one).
Quaggans for all events in all sorts of styles as mini pets, and the most popular ones as physical toys.

Because the vocal minority of a forum represents the majority of people playing the game. You’re only even asking based on one instance of customer dissatisfaction, which shows this is more of a reactive attention grab made to stack the responses than anything done for anyone’s actual benefit.
I would rather have a pet quaggan.
