So is the HoT backpieces for the Vigil, Order and Priory, but you can place upgrades in those backpieces.

Dishonor

Hi. I am kinda confused about Dishonor works. There was a post three years ago that asked the same question and rather than revive a dead topic I started a new one. Anyway in that post, a Dev stated that if I reconnect during a match, I wouldn’t receive dishonor. Has that changed? Because I have gain dishonor for that when I reconnected within a minute or so. Can we get a statement on how the current dishonor system works? Because that is seemingly not the case now.

In fact today, I queued for a match and DC’ed. When I Reconnected, I found I hadn’t been removed from the queue somehow, and I received a stack of dishonor. I don’t mind that, except according to that ancient post, both leaving a match, and queue dodging would give me the same amount of dishonor. If that is the case I would like to know. Thanks!

Why exactly is there a limit? MY lovely Mesmer uses a lot of dyes and I like to have sets of dye, but I cant save all my matching sets.

Like is there a reason for 8? can I get it increased some how? this seems foolish

Claiming Guild Halls

I am the guild leader of a tiny (10 friends from high school) but old guild (been around since the game launch) and most of my guild didnt buy the expansion. which is fine, cuz I figured we would still get the guild hall, and make it like our pad, you know. But now I discovered that I need to clear it out, to kill mordrem that have made it their own. I cant get my guildies to help me, they dont have the expac. I understand it thematically makes sense for the abandoned ruins to be filled with monsters. but how am I supposed to claim it? I just want a guild hall, like in GW1. Or at least give me a portion of it, and then have the intial building expansions be a battle instance, i.e. a small portion is reclaimed with that 100g my guild spent, and the rest is reclaimed piece by piece. cuz as it is, my guild will never claim a guild hall, and that just aint fair.

So when I played through the Living story, I noticed that your little group (taimi, braham, etc) will revive you when you get downed. Didnt happen much, but it is a nice touch you know, good immersion, makes it seem like these characters care for Pact Commander.

So why dont they do it in HoT? I am pushing the characters I rarely play through. and I am dying. I know I suck as them, I am just curious on why my buddies stopped reviving me.

So I have been powering another character through the game, using the story missions to fill tyria mastery. Anyway I was playing the mission where you get faced with your greatest fear, and cuz I dont really remember what happens in it, I picked the one with the explosive expert. letting harm befall an innocent or something. well the next mission I get is the one with the friendly fire incident. I kept playing, figured I misclicked or whatever, it was late when I selected my fear.

But now, I am doing the battle of Fort trinity, and my cutscene says I was partnered with Tonn, despite the fact I never met the puntable little bomber.

I picked one questline, and got another.

The main problem of a similar fix is that when you’re OOC in a sPvP Tournament match you will be allowed to swap weapon.
Is like if a class that is not a engi ro a ele will be able to go OOC and change all it’s defensive weapons with dps weapons to readapt to the current tournament.

What if a cele ele will be able during a tournament to change from melee D/D to Staff to be able to make more AoE damage/support in the mid why the team don’t need it as a melee in the fight?
That will change completly the situation.

Engis and eles (expecially eles) can obtain a incredible amount of skills just swapping attunement or equipping a kit.

Eles can’t change between melee or range, but in range have a large amount of AoE to fight also in melee and in melee have a large amount of movement and fedensive skills to fight also against ranged enemies.
Engis can simply use they’re ranged weapons, that work very well also in melee (expecially the rifle with all it’s bleed/CC that work better in close range than in long range) and if they need a melee or a defence swap to other kits, expecially if they need ranged AoE they can swap to granade or melee AoE to mines.

And what’s all that problem about open for a moment the inventary, double-click on the weapon and equip it? You take more or less 3 seconds to do that!

I really think that there’s no need or a fix like a OOC weapon swap for eles and engis and that will only make troubles to fix it between pve/www and sPvP.

Regarding that problem in PvP, if you see above, I posted a simple coding above that fixed that. Rather than checking for if the Ele and Engi are in combat, the check would be a different value. Whether or not Skills can be changed. As PvP locks skills once the match begins, it would prevent weapon switching altogether. and in PvE and WvW, skill swap can only occur OOC, thereby allow the change to only affect PvE and WvW.

Yeah, they censor cuss words. I hear what you’re saying though. They probably won’t, all you have to do is open your hero menu, and what you’re asking for takes work and coding so we can be just like… a little bit lazier.

I kenw they censored, just commenting on the strange terminology. Rats tend not to have kittens, in fact they get eaten by them lol.

the thing with the coding, that is command coding, which is what I know about. Here is how I imagine it is coded:

IF level ten, THEN allow weapon swapping,
Checksum. (to determine the class)
IF Character is Ele or Engi, THEN disable weapon swap.

pretty simple, I know. but all they have to add is a few more lines, making it:

IF level ten, THEN allow weapon swapping.
Checksum. (to determine the class)
IF Character is Ele or Engi, THEN check skill replacement status.
IFF skills can be replaced, THEN allow weapon swap.

My solution, as you can see, was relatively easy to code, if ANet uses command protocol I just used. This solution also allows the change to not effect PvP, as while we may be able to exit combat in PvP, we still cannot change our skills.

you actually have weaponswap outside combat. Open your inventory and double click on a weapon. Done.

That is what the complaint was. just a way to switch weapons without opening the inventory.

Now this a a dicey topic, as we all know that engineers and Elementalist would be OP with a weapon swap in combat. but I don’t give a rat’s kitten about that. What I want is that Engineers especially, but Elementalists too, be allowed to have a weapon swap for when they are outside of combat. use the mechanism as every other class, except they cant switch in combat. I want to be able to thrash a foe, with my hammer, then go trotting off, switching to my rifle, without having to open my inventory.

As some of you don’t check Reddit, I thought I would give the man a hand. On that day, we will be reviving the Daniel’s guild, Swedish Dragonhunters [SweD]. Gliders in Tyria

So far I haven’t seen much of under water fights in Verdan Brink as everything is going on in the higher region of land and among trees, so I would think that the older maps have been designed with under water fights in mind (which later have been reduced), something that might interfere with air fights as both will make use of Z-coordinate in an 3 dimensional space (X, Y).

I dont understand how there would be an (X,Y,Z) coordinate problem. As far as I know, all characters’ locations are always coded in X,Y,Z coordinates. Otherwise, jumping during battle would not matter. besides from what I could tell from the Beta, you could not attack while in midair. So no aerial combat.

So I have been playing the beta this weekend, and I have fallen in love with the glider system. And I wish to know why we cant have them everywhere in Tyria. we discussed this at length on the mapchat, and we came up with two reasons why it shouldnt be included. they are as follows:
1. Map completion. The gliders could possibly make map completion easier. If this were true, perhaps you could make it one of the rewards to a map completion, being able to glide within that map.
2.Jump Puzzles. This one is the one we had problems resolving, as I can think of several that the glider would make easier. Honestly, it would requiring a lot of coding to prevent PCs from gliding. . . .

But none of that compares to the advantages.
1. Bliss. we all love the glider system. And we have all thought about the mountains in the Shiverpeaks. I, for one, wonder what it would be like to sail off of Anvil Rock for Guild Wars.
2.Advertisement. Arenanet, you guys are out to sell HoT to all the F2P characters. You have to. that is how you guys make money. and for a F2P character, nothing would make them want to play HoT more, than having someone glide over their head. I actually sold my friends on the game, simply with the gliders alone.

I understand that this will likely never happen, but if we cant have the glider in Tyria, how about one weekend? the weekend before HoT release, let F2P and Prepurchasers alike try out the glider in Tyria. perhaps that might push a few F2P to buy the game as well.
