Running Knight’s Gear with Melandru, with zerker trinkets and weapons (and ofc a variety of traits) you can get a balance. 3k attack, 3k armor, and roughly 45% crit chance (without fury) is what I am trying to maintain and balanced gear works well with a variety of builds.
Hey thanks for all the info!
the stuff i quoted really got me hooked. what sort of weapons and build would go for this?
thanks again!
Hi all,
Ive been experimenting with so many build of late and finding not much that im comfortable with, the only thing im certain of is i like using knights gear for toughness and power.
i like the healing shouts, but to make them effective i lost so much power i was useless.
Im not out to get the highest DPS or anything, just something to make an impression and survive a fight or two.
i cannot recall my current build (as i said ive re-traited about 5 times in the past few days)
but i am getting about 2.4k toughness. 1.9 pwer and about 1.7k preci HP is 19k
i think im happy with these stats, i might just get some more vit into accessories.
so i guess what im really looking for is some really effective weapons and rotations.
i love GS but find it hard to hit someone who is moving too fast. (i dont seem to have any stuns)
hammer i like but its too slow for me.
any tips would be appreciated.
The common setup is Knight armor with defensive runes (i.e. Melandru/Soldier), Knight weapons and Berserker trinkets. This leaves you at ~20k health, 3k armor, 40% crit and 75% crit damage with the cookie cutter hammer train spec.
what is the cookie cutter hammer train spec?
oh and i only chose precision over vit because i will mostly be running with my guild in wvw, which is usually about 5-10 players. so im looking for more dmg output that survivability. but with that said i still want the toughness for staying power.
Ive been playing my Necro for a long time now and am so used to having 28-30k hp.
so its going to be an adjustment dropping nearly 10k in hp.
Power, Vit, Toughness or Power Precision Toughness, what would you go for in WvW?

I think ill be going for more Power, Precision, Toughness.
I did some snooping and found Kalarchis.8635 build.
and i think ill be sticking pretty closely to this.
what do you think?
Toughness>Vitality in WvW?
Or are they equal?
That’s a good question, something ive wondered..
my assumption would be toughness is better than vitality just because of damage mitigation.
but then again maybe having a bigger HP pool is more of a benefit.
could you please show me a decent wvw build using knights?
i have an 80 warrior, but have not played it for a long time.
i tried playing it the other day but was just getting totally wailed on.
i would like suggestions for talent build, skill selection and weapon choices.
thanks
Hey all.
I’m looking for a guild that’s based around leveling, PvE events and dungeons.
I’ve been playing for around a month now after converting from world of warcraft which i played for years. so i have good knowledge of the mechanics of the game-play.
I have also been experimenting with a few different professions and have at last settled with an engineer (lvl32) purely for the versatility and fun of the profession.
I play most nights. I live in Australia so a guild that operates in my own time zone would be preferred but not essential.
Thanks in advance!
Syke.
I have one of those wireless internet connections. Not sure what the advertised speeds are. But the interface software for my connection gives me a realtime up and down speed display. Which normally during downloads sits around 1Mbps.
And I’ve roughly worked out the initial download important doing now is around 8.5Gb :/ dont know if there will be any more after this one.
Hi all.
I have recently installed vanilla GW2 from disk and am updating with initial patches.
My questions are;
1. can anybody tell me how big the initial download for patches ect are?
2. Can anybody tell me why the game client only downloads at approx 100-150kbs max while my internet is sitting at around 1mbs?
I know im getting some packet loss by looking at my internet usage and the client downloads. But im fairly sure this wouldnt be choking my down speed. Any help?
