Most of us are in support of the upcoming update, just a small minority complaining.
Exactly.
Re-read through this entire thread that consists of close to 900 posts. I think you’ll find that the people in favor are the minority.
Blind assumptions…
Na, I’m just more vocal in that I agree with update and feel compelled to contrast the whiners or entitled naggers that must voice their “concerns” of the game.
Most people just read the update and move on.
As opposed to blindly slobbering over everything ArenaNet pumps out without regard for anything of consequence. A mindset welcomed in communities that allowed SWTOR become what it is now.
So this means that the current dungeon gear will be useless? Wow there are gonna be ALOT more deserted dungeons after this…
It’s the WoW syndrome that even Blizzard hasn’t been able to fix. Every upcoming tier makes the one before obsolete.
So now we have to run this one dungeon over and over and over to get superior gear?
What about crafting?
What about WvWvW badge exchange?
What about karma exchange?
I can only deal with crummy PvE mechanics for so long. If this is the direction GW2 wants to go (WoW clone #14) then at least tell us straight so we can get started with MMOs that actually do PvE well.
I’m curious as to whether it will change retaliation to a mechanic itself or if it will turn it into a boon similar to aegis. I am also interested in knowing how this will affect our blast finishers with light fields.
The dodge mechanic gives you an (invisible) invulnerability buff that lasts as long as the dodging animation. The dodge itself does not interact with the world like you would expect in, say, a typical action game.
I imagine they would have to change the parameters of dodging so it can’t evade those abilities specifically.
Exotic armor should NOT be easy to get
I can get a single piece of exotic armor by farming in Orr for 30 minutes through crafting alone so that’s already not correct.
The issue is that you are spending much more time (and money through repairs) doing bugged or flawed dungeons to get an armor skin.
I mean sure it’s optional but with the ridiculous price point on each piece I might as well not bother and save myself the frustration. I got the best gear in the game already that tailors to my playstyle, what incentive do I have now to do dungeons then?
And no, getting one-shot while wearing full toughness and healing power gear as a GUARDIAN, exploiting terrain/events, or zerg rushing from the graveyard is not my idea of “fun.”
You still need 330 tokens to get a single piece of exotic gear that I can craft for the same stats by spending 30 minutes in Orr.
I mean that alone makes it all a grind and if you, like some of my friends, want something out of a dungeon that has no “easy” or “quick” path then the grind is made all the worse.
3, 4, and 5 are all awesome as they are if you ask me. These are the changes I’d like to see:
1- Basically make it so that the damage scales with how many enemies are in the cone it affects. So if you are hitting one target it would deal more damage than it would if there are five.
2- Let us cast this ability without the need to target an enemy first (send the orb towards the direction we are facing). Alternatively, let us target a friendly target so that it travels towards them instead.
I play the role of a cleric of sorts when faced with defending keeps or castles.
Basically, traiting for larger and healing symbols while keeping Battle Presence on with Virtue of Resolve and just putting out Symbols of Faith to help out the ranged taking out people from the top. The light field helps cure their conditions when they shoot stuff and also provides healing both from regeneration and from the Writ of the Merciful trait.
It’s not a very active or exciting role but it adds up in the end.
I was looking at my party’s buffs at the time and it seems like Virtue of Resolve’s passive healing from the Battle Presence trait doesn’t prioritize on players necessarily and sometimes instead takes up an AoE cap slot by aiding pets or NPCs instead. Any chance of changing this?
Also, how about making Absolute Resolution actually affect the healing from Battle Presence?
