Daily achievement and living story event bugs

I can see a lot of reports on bugs with the dailies, but I didn’t outright see some that related to what I experienced, if it’s already been reported I apologize.

I got in and chose my 5 dailies; events, gathering, kills, leveler and small creature kills.

As I progressed and got 2 completed (events and kills) I noticed that for some reason the daily completion said “3/5” completed instead of just 2 (only displayed events and kills at %100). Then as soon as I finished the gathering achievement it immediately said “5/5” completed even though I had not completed the small creature kills achievement (only at %13).

Not only did it award me coin, karma laurel and experience, it did it TWICE. I had two shakey chests appear on my screen and each one contained coin karma laurel and experience.

Also while fighting invaders in the living story events in Diessa plateau I could not damage the Flame Legion Portal. I either kept missing or nothing happened. I was dual-dagger elementalist, even tried different elements. Other people could attack it just fine.

Oh and it would be great if there was an ability to re-play the one-time events, I missed all of them including the last event due to whatever issue that I couldn’t rejoin the group.

I’m not looking for handouts, but the ability to go through the content myself to get the experience the story and get the loot would be nice.

I tried to get into the Lost Shores event but, being a family man, could only log in for a few hours during the weekend. Being able to quickly get into Guild Wars 2 and be productive has kept Guild Wars 2 a mainstay in my severely limited gaming time.

But the Lost Shores felt like it had no direction, it was not easy to just jump into and feel productive. For one thing, finding specific NPC’s is a CHORE, there’s no in-game help at all and I constantly relied on people updating the wiki in order to find certain NPCs during the Karka Investigation quest branch. Not to mention issues with the Subdirector Noll NPC; at first it was just plain broken, then he was fixed but there was no indication that I had to wait for him to “respawn” in order to complete the quest. I felt like I was competing other players in order to get this quest completed. Saturday and Sunday almost gone I finally figured out that he respawns and I waited and finally got him, and for that I got 4500 karma, my one and only reward during the event.

I was excited for attacking the Karka that I was able to be a part of that event, but when I got transported to the Southsun(?) shores, I had no idea what to do, no NPCs gave me relevant information, plus there was “vacationing” NPCs there so it felt like I wasn’t even supposed to be here. I did see on a map an extremely distant event taking place, but it was really far away and many lvl 80 monsters between here and there. Luckily I saw many players just running through the mobs so I joined them and it took several minutes for us all to get there. Annoying…

Finally joining the event, I started having fun. We got to this cavern and going down this slope we defeated lots of Karka, and then my 10-month old Son started crying and we had to attend to him for a few minutes so I AFK in the middle of the battle.

After about 5 minutes I’m able to rejoin and I find myself still alive! Phew… but I could not join up with the group whom had obviously ventured downward, but there was no entrance at all to where they were. I spent 15 minutes looking and looking but couldn’t find anyway to join the group. All time spent wasted.

Just wanted to vent my frustrations, I’m sure there was a lot of fun and many things to do during this event but constant disconnections, lack of direction, and broken quests kept it to a bare minimum of fun.
