This just falls into the “please fix the necro pet ui.” At least let us put the bugger on passive so it doesn’t attack anything (along with the FG), but I’d prefer to see something completely different as well.

I’ve been trying for a while to find something that I really enjoy, for mainly a solo PvE player. I think I’ve finally settled on a set of weapons/utility skills that I find enjoyable. This build does a few different things. I run axe/dagger with quickness/bleed duration sigil + staff. Traits are based around buffing staff skills, bleed, and empowering DS. Utility skills provide great control for large groups or hitting hard on a single target. BiS/Epidemic + CC for the heal skill provides some nice healing, especially when popped after getting spectral armor at 50%. Run the signet + epi for even more condition fun. Keep Dagger 4 for when CC is down and I need to burn conditions off of me, or for adding extra bleeds or vulnerabilities while swapping to staff 2 for regen periods.
I’m not going to argue that staff 1 doesn’t need some love; however, I feel like everyone is overlooking the aoe line it does. (For reference, this is from a PvE player perspective.) If you use it so that you have multiple targets for it to hit, you get more out of staff 1. With all of the aoe you get out of marks, it’s just a matter of positioning to be in line with a larger number of hostile targets and how you can really maximize the potential of staff 1.
Still need earplugs thought. :(
I wanted to try out a heavy support build with my necro, and thought it would be interesting to take the healing trait line and stack +heal. I was sorely disappointed when I took my character out for some tests to see the difference in healing with the skills I planned to use. Vampiric Master and Transfusion didn’t benefit at all. The Life Siphon from Dagger 2 was the only ability that I wanted to incorporate into my build that benefited.
My goal had been to find a build + weapons that healed my allies fairly well, in addition to myself. Any help would be appreciated, as well as thoughts on why the +heal doesn’t benefit those skills as well as other skills that don’t benefit.
