Anet should have made both the bloody prince and executioner sets as armor. They’re way too nice looking to be just worn in town.

In GW1they had skins that worked as both town clothes and armor! That was great!

Wait….really?

Well then why the heck didn’t they do the same thing here in the next game???

/facepalm

I too woulda bought all three costumes for cold hard cash in a heartbeat if they weren’t sold as useless townclothes.

Would be interesting to see how much money these make them over, say, the Aetherblade/Brahm’s/Primal sets for the first month they’re released.

I’ll also throw in my opinion that I find these new additions to be VERY well done……

……but the fact that they made them town clothes??

If they’d have made them actually USEFUL pieces of in-game gear I’d have bought all three (Mad King, Executioners and Princes’) in a heartbeat. I’ve already bought the Primal, Brahm’s and Light Aetherblade for my corral of alts. But only one did I pay money for. The rest was bought with converted gold.

Instead they expended talent, resources and developing time to give us stuff that a fraction of the population will use a fraction of their in-game time.

Boggles the mind.

Time to take a page from Rift Devs if you want more of our cold hard cash. I played both games for the first six months of the year….and dropped way more money on their cash shop in those six months than I have the entire year in GW2. Their system was WAY more robust in allowing their players to mix/match and buy armors and skins so the players could feel their toons were unique and awesome.

It’s really one of my biggest gripes about this otherwise awesome game.

Unfortunately, no…never got a ticket number. Just the ‘your ticket has been submitted’ prompt on the page directly and that’s the last I hear of it.

My Support attempts have been via the website, not in-game, using the ‘Ask a Question’ route.

Spam, Junk and trash checked…even the stupid ‘social’ and ‘promotions’ tabs Gmail has added recently.

It’s odd…cuz I was successful just last month when asking about the ‘Name Change Scroll’ and how it works.

Hello folks,

As the title suggests, I put in a support ticket last week to see if they could undo a mistake I made while in-game.
I submitted the ticket under the ‘gaming’ heading.

My account uses Gmail, and i’ve both given it over 72 hours and have been checking my ‘spam’, ‘social’ and ‘promotions’ tabs.
I’ve also added the ‘support’ email to my safe senders folder.

I tried again on Monday….still am not receiving confirmations or word back from support.

Is there any other method to contact them? Or is there something i’m missing that I could be doing on my end?

I’ll be here every day trying it on BG. Definitely something I’ll do more than once. It’s honestly a great community building event. I met a ton of new people tonight just because of this event. And instead of one guild coming forth and doing it, our entire server gets to bask in it. Pretty awesome.

I’d like to see this great community building event of which you speak……‘cept i’ve been in overflow since the kitten thing went live.

Either way…congrats BG.

It really does require alot of co-ordination and alot of skilled players. Too much to be expected in this environment.

You’re never going to get 80+ properly geared people ORGANIZED to any significant degree to do this….especially in overflow.

It’s going to fail for a week straight, and either ANet will realize they gave too much credit to their playerbase and nerf the event, or it will become another Karka Queen.

Well, in case I couldn’t find an answer on the forums I also contacted GW2 Support.

Here’s their reply.

Considering a name change ticket is 800 gems (currently 10 bucks), you’d think they’d lower it if you need three to swap two names.

I know they have to cover their bills, but 30 bucks to swap two names is a might steep in my book.

Guess it’s back to Champion farming.

The Support page (https://en.support.guildwars2.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/9287/~/character-name-changes) claims the following:

“Alternately, you may use two separate Name Change Contracts to swap names between two characters on your account, as long as you do that within 24 hours.”

I’d like to try this. But when I buy the ticket and use it, it asks me immediately for the name i’d like to change it to. And since that name is currently in use on my other character, it says it’s invalid.

There doesn’t seem to be an option to just clear the name on one so I can change it on the other, then go back to the blank toon and use the other name.

Best I can figure….you’d need THREE tickets to accomplish this.
First one change the first toon to a place holder name.
Second one changes the second toon name to the first.
Third one to change the first toon name to the second.

Am I missing something here?

Yup.
This RNG bullkitten is what’s killed my interested in these events.

Anet needs to take a page from Trion’s upcoming cash shop.

You want something to enhance your in-game experience? You buy it. And you have it.

Novel idea no?

I’m actually looking forward to Rift going FTP. I don’t mind spending my RL cash when I know what i’m getting. Soon as it goes live i’ll be gladly plunking down 40 bucks to get some mounts and armor skins that look kitten.

Throwing you RL cash down on a ‘maybe’ is just stupid imo.

Dear ANet. You were supposed to be the ‘chosen one’.

I didn’t notice any server crashes. But since I downloaded the updated I’ve DC’d 5 times in the last hour, and died due to horrific lag 3 times. Haven’t had these issues pre-patch, and I’ve even tried running on the lowest possible settings.

Other people in Orr have experienced the same.

Not fun.

Constant Disconnects

Just south of Toronto here, also on Rogers.
Disconnects started around 6:30pm last night…..every 15 minutes to start…then went down to every 5 or so. Gave up after the 9th DC.

Also in the same boat. Last three days in a row now i’m being prompted to authenticate. Nothing’s changed on my end. Sure…an extra 30 seconds required to log on….but still…..bit of a hassle…..and a brief moment of panic that I might have been hacked…….
