Same for me, started the games some 20 min ago, been dc’d about 8 times. Usualy no problems getting back in again, except now, I just get a black screen after the dc, restarting the game and the result is the same after first dc.

Traceroute doesn’t reach the server, tried several times, gets lost at stage 10-15. Had a friend trying the same, get also gets lost at 10-15. I have Bahnhof, he’s got Telia. Both from Sweden.

Same here, got into 3 different overflows (different commanders) and tried 2 arenas in every overflow, got this in 5/6 trying to complete the 5 gamkittenallenge…

I think a good solution would be to make conditions past the cap do direct damage or perhaps apply a different condition that isn’t affected by a cap in the same degree.

Say you are fighting a a legendary boss in a dungeon, you made the brilliant decision to bring not 1, but 2 (yes 2… what where you thinking) necromancer rocking condtionbuilds with rabid.

Now, you’re going to hit 25 stacks of bleed pretty darn fast, and it shouldn’t be much of an issue to keep it toped of most of the time.

When the boss has 25 stacks of bleed, an attack, f ex scepter 1 and 2, instead of applying bleed will do direct damage. I’m not great with numbers but I’m sure the community and / or anet can balance it. So instead of scepter 1 and 2 hitting for 200, it hits for 200 and then add damage from the bleed as direct damage.

Another thing that might work would be to apply other conditions, maybe confussion but with a longer duration (as bosses usualy hits rather slow) This could be balanced for PvE and made different for WvW / sPvP (just like retalition)

Imagine 5 conditonmancers with lots of + bleed duration nuking down a boss as fast as the mouthbreathing warriors can.

I’ve tried both power builds and condition builds. I find that powerbuilds (DS stacking might + blood is power) is pretty kitten nice damage but it’s soooo boring. I much preffer conditions, granted that condition cleanse can be a pain in the kiester but for the most part it’s alright.

Running scepter/dagger + staff with epedemic and spectral wall you can dish out a decent amount of conditions, even if they cleanse it. More often than not, in a zerg, you can find some scallywag not running heavy condition cleanse with 10-15 stacks of bleed, sometimes more. Epedemic on that guy while he’s in the zerg is golden.

Since there is always a abundance of powerfocused players in a zerg to take down enemies quickly, a well placed epedemic on one end of the enemie zerg, one setup of marks on another, scepter + dagger skills + ds 4-5 you can tag quite a few people and get your lootbags, while still beeing somewhat of use.

Working for a large world wide company, I have 1 hours every week set to reply to our internal forums. We have some 15000 employees spread out, at least 10 000 more working externaly with our services such as manufactering and delivery.

We get anywhere from 50 – 200 threads a week with suggestions, question as to “why did you change X” etc

Replys such as:
- “We are aware of this, seems something wen’t wrong with system X in integration with Y”
- “This isn’t possible to solve on this system as it would demand a complete rebuild of the structure”
- “Thanks for the suggestion, many people have asked for this and we are looking into implementing it”

Most people (with jobs / obligations) understand that just because some people want something implemented, changed or removed it doesn’t mean that the group responsible will drop everything and fix it.

Still, I think just showing that you have read and took a part of the information is a good thing. The WoW forums (and several others, im sure) suffer from the same thing. “We read most, but won’t leave a comment on most things” You can tell that to people over and over again, many will still not get it.

I’m fairly sure you can put a big pop-up screen that says “WE MONITOR ALL THREADS, GOOD / POSSIBLE SUGGESTIONS WILL BE FORWARDED TO THE PROPER TECH-GROUP” people will still be “omg read my thread already, it’s the best idea ever!!”

From time to time I feel like gambling a bit with bags. Bought some 7500 bags. Bound double click to a “frictionless” scroll down. It was a breeze. I didn’t make any profit, but that’s hardly a shock

I recently got myself a second monitor and since then I’ve been having major issues with GW2 (no other games or programs)

Speccs:
i5 3570k (stock)
XFX 7970 (stock)
2×8gb kingston LP ram
Intel 330 120gb ssd
Random 2tb mechanical

The monitors are BenQ 2411 120hz (this one is the one I game on) and a Eizo FS2331 for various programs and video. Running Windows 8 x64 Enterprise

If I boot my computer and launch GW2 everything is fine and dandy. I can use my other screen and everything. The problems begin when I launch VLC.

So I start GW2, log on to my character and then I want to see Lock stock and two smoking barrels (you know, it gets better the 50th time) When I move my mouse from the main monitor to the other to do something and the movie is running, the monitors flickers.

If I want to swap zone of character when a movie is running the game locks during the loading screen. Sometimes it crashes sometimes it just won’t go on and I have to end the process.

I’ve tried changing drivers, I reinstalled my OS. I swaped the monitor position (Eizo to the main screen etc) but it all produce the same issue. I’m not sure if it’s VLC acting up or perhaps GW2. I also tried using HDMI over DVI cables but the same outcome.

Anyone else having this issue?

Being just an ordinary mortal, working 9 hours a day, playing during “prime” time this really isn’t very fun. The past 2 days I’ve tried to catch maybe 10 dragon events, overflow 9/10 times.

The 1 time I did manage to get in was when a guildie announced the pre event just started, I hoped on the zone and got in. A mate joined some 20 sec later, overflow.

Perhaps allow people to guest with someone they are in group with, that would allow 4 quests per player. Or maybe make it so that the native population gets placed first in que and put the quests in the back of the line.

Looks like a nice build, I think I’m gonna give it a go myself.

A friend of mine got hit for this. He says got aprox 90 ectos from this.

He didn’t clear out the trading post to get these many, he had most of the materials himself. He bought the materials me and my friend had, told us about the way to make money this way. He even wrote in the thread that was made some 16 days ago but as most of you know there was no reply from anet there.

I myself didn’t try this, even though I have the gold to make a killing along with some 300+ black lion salvage kits, deep down I had a feeling this was gonna come back and bite my friend in the behind. I did tell him this but his reasoning was that obviously this wasn’t an exploit, surely anet wouldnt let an obvious thing like this slide past testing…

Me, all of my friends and some guildmates have put GW2 on the shelf, most of us frequent spenders in the store. Good job anet, good job… Thank god Planetside 2 is f2p!

Very nice that you managed to solo that. I too have seen way to many die here, ranged or melee. Big plus for playing Rise Against too, Bricks is a really good song

couple of quick things to note. Right now with all the particle effects, Lions Arch is going to really test systems more than it used to. I would not use it as a reference for performance. I am getting myself 6x better performance in every other zone.

Other thing.. Windows 8.. ugh.

I am not saying that is the problem nor do i think it is, but just something to think about in comparisons

Yeah LA is a bad spot to measure performance by but now im getting at least 30+ fps while running around as uposed to 15 before. Im also getting 100-120 fps outside, double performance in both zones with higher settings even.

Whats wrong with windows 8? Its really ace if you got a proper laptop with a touchscreen, like I got at work. Granted, its a bit weird at points with a stationary computer but overall pretty nice.

Glad you got it working. It sounds like gw2 for some reason was using the integrated graphics and not your 7970.

Nah, im pretty sure i wasnt using intel 4000 to run gw2. I tried it on my laptop and it didnt run nearly at the same level that my 7970 did even when it had wrong drivers. I tried it on this computer as well and i got 25 fps or so in a empty zone with intel 4000.

After some more testing was done, me and a work mate finally found something that solved this issue for me.

I completly reinstalled Windows 8 Ent, 64 bit just like last time. Redid all the things I did before and got the same results… hm.

My mate sugested: We reinstall my computer with PXE via my vpn to my office with a custom made profile. Into that package he added that my drivers should be the 12.11 and no other vga drivers where to be installed at all, not even the intel 4000. Lo and behold, by making sure that the drivers that was installed for the GPU was the AMD 12.11 from the very begining (and not the ones windows finds) it seems to work.

Now, this is of course a solution that most people (including myself) cant do and shouldnt have to do, but it works now so im fine with that.

As you can see in my attachment, the gpu is running a pci-e 3.0 x16 just like before. For some reason MSI afterburner wont display information on top of my gw2 but I marked the graph for when I was in the game. I did some fractals before this and checked the graph, 95-99% usage the whole time. And the temps are like before.

As for your issues oneknife, I cant really help you there, AMD have always been a tad dodgy on the driver side

I just got my GTX 690 delivered, DOA.. fml.

Anyway, using a AMD 7970 xfx ghost now and the performance is rather disheartening to say the least.

My rig:
i5 3570k stock
xfx 7970 ghost
2×8 1600 kingston ram
asus z77 lv-x mb
intel 330 120 gb ssd (os, gw2 and all the drivers are installed here)
2tb mechanical disk, random stuff here
1000w silver strider gold cert psu

I got my rig yesterday, put everything in its place (using esd braclet ofc) I then installed windows 8 enterprise, installed all the drivers for the chipset, mb etc. Installed AMD 12.11 beta drivers. Downloaded Gw2 and started it up.

I logged out in LA so when I got in I had about 8 fps with everything on ulta / all the eye candy on. Tweaked some settings, turned off some eye candy, turned of shadows completly. 15 fps

Went to another zone, just me here, no events or players nearby that I could see. With everything on ultra as when I logged in LA it hovered at 40-50 fps. Tweaked some settings again and it managed to keep roughly 60 fps.

When I flipped my camera real fast the fps drops to about 20-30 fps for 2-3 seconds then goes back to normal. Small fights between me and a few enemies gives me 50ish fps.

Some things ive checked (spent a few hours on google) Made sure the gpu was in a pci-3 x16 slot, it is. Tested the psu to make sure it delivers power and doesnt ribble, everything in order. Checked temperatues, everything is fine here.

I tried the 12.10 drivers for the gpu but its the same.

Now im running with mixed setting of medium / high, no eye candy, no shadows at all and it keeps at around 60-75 fps. I generaly try to keep my fps close to a 100 (this isnt that big of an issue in gw2 but in fps it is) to not get a massive headache after a little while.

I got a 120hz benQ montitor on this rig. Is this game really heavy bound by the cpu? Even if it is, shouldnt a top of the line ivy bridge quad core take this with ease? I havent turned of HT yet, altough I read that can help a bit, will try that later.

On my laptop im getting similar results, i7 3610qm, 2×4 1333 ram, 7970m, same kind of ssd with the same installment setup.

Any tips on things to try or general brainstorm would be very welcome

I got sick of waiting, been 8 days now and still nothing. Made a new account with a new serial. Bought my first game via arenanet so will ask for a refund, if not, chargeback. I feel for you all waiting. I like how this thread is so empty, a good indicator for sure.
