So you know for a while I will admit this I never understood why everyone wanted a warrior rework I mean I myself believed that warrior should some new and extra stuff like unblockable skills and such. But after reading this recent patch update the only thing warriors got was a burning trait being able to use in downstate……… Are you legit kidding me. But no I look at guardian and oh look deflecting shot BECOMES UNBLOCKABLE! Now before you think I`m some random warrior player who only ever plays warrior and whines whenever warrior does not get anything that would be considered cool or new. I`m a heavy armor main I play both warrior and guardian equally. Soon to play Reveant once I finish my HOT story on my guardian ( already did it on my warrior).

I have been in guild wars 2 for about two years now and have at least played every build on the two classes from DPS to support or a more tanky type of build, even condi. Not saying I`m mr know it all but I know what these two classes can do. Anyways back on the topic at hand. I really dont get why whenever warrior gets something OP or considered op people rage and cry about it and it gets insta nerf within one patch aka rampage and a few other things. But people out there think Dragonhunter and Reaper is “balanced”. I played my Dragonhunter in pvp and pve nothing is balanced about that class and now you just gave guardian 3 unblockable skills. The only unblockable thing that warriors have is 1 skill and on top of that. That one skill is a sigent that only gives us six seconds of unblockable and there is also the trait that gives you an auto sigent of might activation. But still the “Guardian” you know the so called protector can do more damage then a warrior and have more unblockable stuff then them too.

With that being said if they are trying to turn the guardians into the new damage dealer then turn warriors back to how they were in guild wars 1. Look up warriors skills in guild wars one and how they were back then. They were the tanks of the game with ether high or mild damage. Not that I`m saying that warriors cant be tanks now they make a wayyyyy better tank in raids then a guardian does but the point still stands. Because in pvp as of right now its really hard to be a warrior main reason is. 1. you will most likely be the first one targeted if you are full damage and people can tell your build from a mile away based off your weapon. 2. if you go condi warrior other classes will just out condi you. 3. our stances have way to long of a cooldown and short duration yet other classes can do the same thing at short cooldowns. 4. ALMOST EVERY CLASS CAN DO WHATEVER WE DO IN PVE NOW so much for being unique.
5. Finally only reason to go tank warrior in pve is for raid which works well however trying to go bunker shout/bow warrior is almost undo-able now because of the other elite specs hey its even tough to be a bunker guard now too.

Also sorry this post is all over the place just alot of disappointment from Anet on what they are doing to this class I now know how Rangers felt. Unlike other people I know that warrior can be very good at alot of things can be a good support/tank good damage dealer or whatever. But the main problem is every other class can do EVERYTHING we do but 50 times better. So now I finally understand why everyone been crying for a warrior revamp

Let’s face it, Warrior is meant for open world and instanced solo pve.

His ridiculous sustain + selfbuffs + great solo damage + tier 1ish mobility makes him pretty much the best class for just playing the game’s regular pve content with a chill (+ dungeons solo).

And before you respond with, “every class can play open world pve”, sure, but playing Warrior is the most fluent and relaxing way to do it.

Actually, since we hace elite specs, warriors is the least class to play open pve. Berseker is a troll spec. There is absolutely nothing good on it. It’s only on par with race skills, those that fits a concept but are a weaker version of another skill,.. ok; that’s how Berseker feels. Engie with hammer, dragon hunter, revenant, reaper, are all better versions of the warrior, even for open world pve. Much more fun and new, warrior’s been the same since 3 years ago.

My main was a Warrior, 3K out of 4K hours played on him. The other 1K is spread in the rest of the classes (all to 80 full equipped). Since HoT came along, it’s been the opposite.. I played my warrior till I finished the story and I have never logged him again. I don’t feel like playing him. It’s boring compared to the others now.

No offense but all because you play alot of hours on a class does not make you a “master” there is a proverb about that somewhere but ways. Zerker elite spec is fine yea its needs a lil buff here and there but for the most part its fine. The main problem with warrior players ( most of them) is they thing raw damage greatsword/hammer is the only thing a warrior can do then whine when they get insta bursted down. I play shoutbow warrior in pvp and there are many times I lasted way longer then a bunker guardian. We as a class legit have the most play styles in the game and the most weapons yet people only wanna play the same two weapons over and over with the same build. Which at this point people know how to counter them by now. Not saying warrior doe snot need a buff or anything because it does in some areas but most of the whineing is OH WE CANT RUN THE OLD META ANYMORE LETS CRY ABOUT IT.

But lets be honest thats every class I mean look at the guardian class post some times

I think this trait should get a buff. The reason is that it is competing against Cleansing Ire and Last Stand. 1000 toughness isn’t good enough as a situational trait.

A few suggestion:

  • Grant 1000 toughness and heal when using a stun break skill instead of requiring a stunbreak in the first place.
    or
  • It gets a 40 second cd passive stunbreak but no stability.
    or
  • Make it supportive instead of selfish. Whenever you use a stunbreak skill, you stunbreak for 5 other players. Also grant them 1000 toughness for players that broke out of stun that way.

Although I respect your suggestions I must say I have to highly disagree with all of these the trait is fine as it is and tbh with zerker coming out this trait is about to be used more often. Let me point something out.
1. If you have this trait on if you use balanced stance you get a free 1000 toughness even if you are not stunned it just you dont get any healing.
2. This trait gonna be great and super powerful with the elite skill head butt and the zerker skill outrage.
3. If you wanna be “supportive” go play a guardian most of warriors skills are for its self like how tank warrior mostly benefit themselves ( and can be almost borderline unkillable) anyways warrior not the “supportive type” the way the warrior supports besides shouts and debuffs and banners is being the last one standing or other things like fast revives and stuff but ether way you get the point.
4. there no reason to give the skill a cool down when you only heal off of stuns when u stunbreak and finally the idea of when you stun break everyone else does it too well Rev already has that so yea.

One more thing you dont need cleansing ire. If you have run of the soilder and runeing the shout build plus with warhorn trait that gets rid of condis your will be fine plus dont get me started on zerker stance

quick list:

Warrior: very vulnerable to blinds, no teleport skills (can easily get outkited by porting to high ground), reliant on stances to not get bursted.
Guardian: Cooldowns, vulnerable to attrition builds (they can easily mitigate burst with shelter/renewed focus/virtue of courage, but these have high cooldowns). Burn guard is vulnerable to condi transfer (necro, some mesmers)
Thief: getting bursted outside of stealth. thief is hard to catch in stealth but has no blocks/invulnerable skills. You can screw up a thief heavily if you interrupt his black powder->heartseeker stealth combo or by using knockbacks against his shadow refuge. Also thief has low health, a quick burst can down him. Remember a stealthed thief cannot capture points.
Ranger: Projectile reflects against power builds, also low cd condi cleanse against his pet taunt. His defensive tools have some large cooldowns, avoid getting stunned by greatsword in melee. Condi Ranger: Condition transfer and moblity, condi ranger is much slower than power. Also no teleport skills.
Engineer: Spamming different conditions at him, beware of his random transmute every 15s . A lot of Stablity on your side or stun breaks are effective too, most engies have lots of knockbacks. Remember the gear shield cd (16s), nearly every engi uses it.
Mesmer: Has either weak condition removal (PU build) or low amount of stealth (Inspiration build). Also has low dps, but large burst, so either run tanky attrition builds or a glassy build which can evade/absorb shatter combo. Remember that a stealthed mesmer can not capture points.
Necro: Low moblity, no ways to absorb damage outside of evade. Do not attack him while spectral armor is up, you are just recharging his shroud then. Be careful with condition builds since he can transfer them back at you (however blind can prevent it).
Spamming crowd control is extremely effective.
Ele: Ele has no weaknesses and rule pvp right now))
jk they have some but they are hard to use. D/D has no way to prevent taking damage outside of a dodge roll, a coordinated burst from 2-3 mesmer can instantly down an ele. They also have a low amount of stunbreaks on them. Chill affects their attunement recharge rate, a well timed chill after they left water attunement can screw up an elementalist.

Warriors need stances so we dont get bursted…….. tell that to a shout or banner warrior or one with a shield must I also bring up that trait that gives us 1000 toughness and healing and that adrenaline heal with shout trait pretty much gives them full hp and even when they go bunker they still hit like a train people keep forgetting or dont realize warriors are super tanky

This is the one major problem with Guild Wars 2 community that they label what a class should be because everyone playing a certain meta or its name. Nobody ever said Warrior had to be a glass cannon or is one. To be honest warrior if spec right can legit tank and last longer then most guardians. I mean like we have a trait line called Defense that its whole purpose to it migrate and take damage. To be honest in most games even if there was some sort of Paladin like class the warrior still ended up being the tank and I see them becoming one once raids come out

Why is it that everytime Warrior gets something cool everyone wants to cry about it. Chronomancer was broken last beta weekend nobody complained. Burn Guards are uber powerful yet not enough people are complaining about that. BUT HOWEVER Warrior gets a few buffs and one broken bug with the rifle skill during the beta weekend and EVERYONE wants to complain about it. Its like whether or not they buff or nerf warrior people are always gonna cry about it but if they made other classes op nobody seems to care

I play warrior and guard and have for a while and love them both and warrior is was my first class but I cant help but feel that the entire class as a whole needs a major revamp. I enjoy being able to be out right immune to everything for 5 seconds with stances and being tanky and having alot of regen as well. But I feel like some of the skills and weapons need buffs or changes so that they will be used more often. I` will be honest I`m kinda tired of seeing greatsword warriors running around you would think that a class that could use every weapon basically would see different people running different things. But that is not the case 90% of the time you find a warrior useing a greatsword and please find me someone dual wielding maces because I never seen that happen.

Now dont get me wrong I`m not saying that Warrior is a bad class its great I mean we can be very tanky like our other heavy armor cousin the Guardian expect where guardian focuses on damage prevention we focus on damage mitigation. We have alot of mobility and can hit like a truck sometimes. Even at times become immune to everything way more longer then a guardian would. But I cant help but feel like that every class has the edge on warriors at the moment.

Alot of skills most warrior players find outright useless I mean just look at banner of defense and Discipline hopefully with raids those will see the light. And dont see people useing signet of might and fear me or on my mark I mean there is no point when everyone else can just easily put 25 stack on vulnerability on someone or fear. them. Signet of might only good because it gives you 6 seconds of unblock able which is lovely but if people see you use it they will most likely just run away. Which leads to another issue about how easily a warrior can get zoned out even if you have a bow or a rifle because they will ether run out of the range or just stealth and regen.
I normally use play as a tank warrior with a mace or a sword and shield and a bow the other day I started to use a greatsword more often to remember why everyone loves to use it and well its just really good but I wish that the other weapons and skills would be as good as the greatsword is and get there fame. I would love to see warriors useing dual mace or useing skills like fear me or on my mark maybe even kick might as well toss in some more unblockable skills while your at it because we need that instead of the same builds I always see over and over.

We are suppose to be the class with the biggest different play style in the game the jack of all trades. We can tank, damage, support, etc however everyone just wanna do one thing why because that one thing seems to be better then everything else. There are so many skill that could be revamped and redone to help benefit the warrior. I`m not asking for warrior to be op but everyone keeps saying oh Warrior is Arenanet love child but the more you play your warrior then you look at other classes you then realize that is far from the truth. I mean just look at the trouble most warriors are having with the recent condi meta

I think the Primal Burst skills need to become unblockable. I dont know its just that the fact that if were so angry we do like this whole new skill set can be blocked kinda seems underwhelming and annoying when it is blocked I mean it wouldn’t be broken and it would help out warrior alot since almost every class has some sort of access to blocking now

Okay so well all know that eventually there will be more expansions and with it most likely more elite specs or classes even a new race who knows. But if we do get more elite specs I would love to see peoples ideas for what some of them would be and what weapon they would get for certain classes. For me I would love to see a “Knight” elite spec for the warrior class. Rumor is that Guardian was suppose to be the “knight” however as development progressed the knight class became less of its own thing and more like what would happen if a Paragon from Guild Wars 1 and a Monk from Guild Wars 1 got married and had a child which is the Guardian. I really liked the whole idea of the knight class and I really think warrior would fit that role because according to arenanet a knight does not use magic. Who else does not use magic the warrior ( even tho they summon banners from the sky and can light themselves on fire BUT THAT’S SOME HOW NOT MAGIC). A knight is pretty much a warrior same as a solider and etc just a different title to show their status . You know a formal thing but ether way they are all still fighter. I think the knight spec if they do this should focus on the warrior more tanky side and control. Because as we all know warrior has alot of control not only that but they have extremely high toughness and regen and if played well like their other heavy armor buddy the Guardian the warrior is unkillable ( most of the time). Ether way warriors are really tanky because they are a heavy armor class. We have Berserker which focuses on warriors burst damage and burning. So let Knight focus on defense,control and support ( or give warrior another element). Ether way I think a cool idea would be to give warrior skills that give them taunts and stuff to mitigate damage(warriors are already good at mitigating damage but the knight elite spec will focus on that and do more of it). The way this elite spec would work will kinda be like how a “tank” in a normal mmo would be. I know their is no need for tanks in Guild Wars 2 but it would help that in a party or a fight everyone getting rekt and the warrior with the knight spec just does some aoe taunt and gets everyone off your group and starts destroying the enemy with its mass amount of defense and stuns and cc. To be honest I dont know what weapon they would give it. I was thinking that hopefully in the future we get different pole arms like spears we could maybe use. Because in the warrior skill list there is art of a female warrior with a spear I could see the knight using that but anyways. What is everyone idea for future elite specs and why ?
