I wouldn’t recommend any other AMD CPU’s apart from the FX series unless they are overclocked because my friend has AMD Phenom II X6 1055T also he gets alot of dips below 20 fps even with a slight overclock.
FX series on the other hand is pretty good my fx 8350 stock runs the game fairly well around the same as my friends i7 3770k stock which my friend runs with a HD 7870 (I run a 7950 but both are overkill since you only need a 7850 to max out gw2 anything higher will not give a massive boost in fps) which is at stock clocks with ultra settings and SweetFX with alot of features turned on.
my other friend owns a FX 6300 he also runs the game just as smooth when he ran it at stock but he has OC’ed his so it runs very smooth (these is with ultra settings + SweetFX with alot of features turned on ) and they are very easy to overclock according to my friend I personally haven’t tried oc’edmy FX 8350 but I don’t really need to there is the odd occasion in WvW and Lion Archs where the fps drops below 30 fps but not often enough to tempt me to overclock.
What I’m wishing for is arenanet to support multicores and by multicores I mean more than 4 atleast 6 so I can get the most out my FX 8350.

overclock that 8350 to 4.5 or 4.6 that will help.
and turn shadows down at least 1 notch its currently bugged on the max setting.
reflections need turned down due to the fact the game renders them even when your not in view of water.
this game has water under the whole map, and due to its culling sucking donky deification it dosnt cull what you dont see properly(to avoid the gpu rendering it) so the gpu renders the water reflecting the whole world all the time.
if you dont want to take peoples advice, please down ask for it.
Thanks for the advice i will turn down the shadow and reflection but it is simply untrue that I didnt take any advice eg i took the disable core packings advice and changing the compatibility advice also. Also does the shadow bug make it look like high instead of ultra. And will an artic freezer a30 allow me to overclock to4.6 ghz thanks the help is appreciated
Thanks for the advice but how much of a performance increase am I expected to gain if I disable core parking?
and I want to run everything on max so lowering reflections/shadows is a not an option
also what does reflections do ? is it like the light reflecting off the armor and water ?

Hello I was just wondering if there are any ways i can improve fps without overclocking my game runs fine 25 fps to 65+ fps but there are dips below 30 i would like to fix
My system specs
CPU: FX 8350
GPU: AMD HD 7950
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB
They are adding private arena’s and all sorts of sPvP stuff so people could easily set up 1 v 1’s or any number of people vs eachother but it’s long way away like January/February patch .
Probably medium/high settings. If its a 650ti he could probably manage more high settings. if its just a 650 probably all medium.
WvWvW and LA will most likely cause fps to drop since the cpu is caped at 3.7ghz and becouse its not a K version the best OC you could expect is 4ghz. But if he is ok with dealing with <20fps in WvWvW then it should be fine.
If he is mainly a PVE’er then he shouldnt have much trouble.
Since I told him about the 650 and how much better a 650ti is for gw2 he has been searching around and has come across these 2 cards but does not know which one to choose.
The Gigabyte GeForce GTX 650ti OC 2048MB

Or The AMD HD Radeon 7850 2gb stock
Thanks in advance
Hi my friend is getting a new computer it is not a high end supercomputer but he’s wondering whether he could play the game with decent fps and what setting it would allow him to play on e.g low/medium playing on 1366 × 768 / 1280 × 720
His specifications
3.3GHz Intel i5 3550 Quad-Core, Processor (Turbo Speed 3.7GHz)
8GB of DDR3 1333Mhz RAM
Palit nVidia GeForce GTX 650 1GB
and also what would be the best settings for him for a stable fps and a good appearance.

So i have just tried logging on the same character on my laptop and it has the same error while on my other alts there is no problem logging in..
Same here I play on my laptop also. I have my main character stuck in lion’s arch after I completed my CoF runs I decided to TP to Lion’s Arch now I can’t log in on him BUT I can still log on my other characters in a different location to my main.
It comes up with game lost connection to server please wait a few minuted before restarting client again
The error code : 7:11:3:189:101
7/10 flintlock sounds too much like a charr surname to me
I have 3 charr but I’ll use my warriors name Arcaus Dragonmaw
I wanted something to do with the dragons so his warband is dedicated to blood legion but he is loyal to vigil order.
Is Combat mode allowed now or is it still banned?

I was just wondering whether combat mode 1.01 was safe to use or is ArenaNet still going to ban people for using it (although I don’t really see why it’s such a big deal it. It’s more a positive than a negative to the game it appeals to more people e.g people who like TERA’s combat). I personally have not used it yet nor do I have the intention of using the mod, I am curios about what the Dev’s think about this mod and if they are going to integrate something like this mod ingame in the future.
p.s I am not saying that this mode will change the current system they could always implement to turn it on/off.
