Cipher, I’ll post the report here. But what you’re arguing against, is the fact that I can play other games with absolutely no problem. If there’s something wrong with my hard disk, or memory that’s causing files to become corrupted, why isn’t it happening in those other games? It only happens in GW2. And it’s a persistent problem with GW2. Repairs only fix the file/files temporarily, they eventually, often after only a very short time, become corrupted yet again. This only happens in GW2. So do you understand why we’re saying it’s a problem within GW2? It may be true that our system configuration, hardware, and drivers are what’s causing the issue within GW2, but it’s still ONLY happening in GW2. So where is the problem?
Anyway, for cooperation’s sake, because I really do love this game and would like to see it fixed, I’m including that dxdiag report in case someone who knows what it all means and can do something about it, actually reads these forums.
I forgot to add, my install is the electronic version downloaded from the link provided in our account info section on the GW2 site. So it’s what Anet provides us as the game client. I’m not trying to install some pirate copy a buddy put on CD. LOL

I’ve also been having the same issue. Random and very frequent crashes to desktop since the holiday patch. Always the same error with this at the top:
Assertion: A file was corrupted in the archive. Please run once with ‘-repair’!
File: ..\..\..\Game\Main\MainCli.cpp(591)
App: Gw2.exe
It always forces me to run repair twice in a row before allowing me to play the game, and even after that I never get to play more than a few minutes before it crashes again.
I finally broke down and decided to try a complete re-install of the game because it’s gotten so bad it isn’t worth even trying to log in the way things are now.
Re-installed game, played for about 30 mins and crashes started again.
One other note. This problem is definitely GW2 specific. I’ve been running Tera and WoW all day long for two days now with no crashes or any problems at all. There’s nothing wrong with my PC. Someone please address this issue and stop with the “run repair again” answers. It’s old already, and isn’t fixing the real problem that’s causing the file corruption in the first place.
For a game with no monthly subscription, I think it’s hardly a complaining matter if they charge a server transfer fee. Unless of course that fee is excessive. Most games I’ve played in the past charged a monthly subscription, AND charged you to transfer servers. People will complain about anything these days.

Re-installed game, played for about 30 mins and crashes started again. No joy. I’m ready to give up and move to a new game. I’d rather pay a monthly subscription for a game that I can depend on working right.

@Taywena, you need to copy-paste the link (its because there are semicolons in the URLs).
Ah, thank you very much. That did work!

As you want a build that is ‘good’ and works for ‘everything,’ the above link fits the bill!
For some reason that says bad link for me. Anyway, there are a lot of ways to go with a Necromancer. I came up with an idea very similar to what I believe is considered a minion master type build, but instead of focusing on condition damage, It focuses more on Power/toughness/healing for survivability. It doesn’t kill as fast as some other classes, but it gets the job done and now in full exotics, I can stand toe to toe with Veteran mobs and not even flinch. I haven’t done any sPvP or WvW, but it works very well in open world PvE and very nicely in dungeons as well. My gear is all Cleric exotics with Shaman inserts except my staff which I run the superior sigil of life. The amount of healing this build and gear set puts out is amazing. You, your minions, and your allies all benefit from this build. Your marks have a nice radius. Mark of Blood is down to a 4 3/4 sec CD, which is shorter than the regen duration. You also heal yourself, minions, and allies using Life Siphon in Dagger #2, Focus #4, and DS #4. It has good condition removal and applies plenty of conditions even though the gear isn’t designed to boost the condition damage, it still adds up.
Not everyone would enjoy this build, but it suits my tastes very well. Here is the build.

Ok, that says bad link for me too. Not sure what’s going on this morning. Anyway it’s 20 Spite with Spiteful Removal and Training of the Master. 0 Curses. 30 Death Magic with Greater Marks, Staff Mastery, and Flesh of the Master. 20 Blood Magic with Transfusion and Vampiric Master. And 0 Soul Reaping. I use Staff and Dagger/Focus for swap. I don’t know why our links to the build editor are saying bad link.
As mentioned above, I run Cleric gear with Shaman crests, or sapphire jewels, except the staff, which has the superior sigil of life. Standing in LA, I have 3,068 attack, 4% Crit chance (LOL), 2,730 Armor, 22,402 Health, and 1,207 Healing power with 0 stacks from my Staff’s sigil so add 250 more healing to that once those stacks are up. You probably would run a different Sigil in the staff for PvP since you’d most likely be downed before you ever got 25 stacks. And maybe this build would be totally useless for PvP, I wouldn’t know because I haven’t tried yet. Maybe others can look at it and make a call based on their own experiences.
