One time Armors per Weight Class

Thinking back, during Dragon Bash, when we had completed a certain Event/Achievement [Watching the Fireworks?] We were granted with not one, but THREE Dragon Helmets.

Ever since then, any time there has been a piece of gear that was a ‘one time thing’, it was only granted one, and applied to skin of one Weight class only.

I’m just wondering, whatever happened to rewarding us with One-time armors for EACH weight class? Can this be brought back.

I know most of the time the Meta-Achievements are either a Home Instance Node, or a back item, but for those times it’s armor.

I would like a chance to apply the skin once per weight class, at the very least.

[At least until we get like, a weapon/armor skin locker for PvE. That would just help so much.]

Eh. I’m not really sure -what- to Rate Midna, since it seems like one of the obvious names that would’ve been done. Admittedly, kudos on -getting- the name, and I’ve seen a few pretty convincing Midna look-alike Asura.

Okay. Anet. We get it, you wanted the Adventure box to be ‘wtf’ difficult. That’s fine. I like a challenge.

I only ask one thing.

Please. For the love of all that was once good. Remove the Rocks ability, in Tribulations mode, to HIT YOU WHILE YOU’RE IN MID JUMP.

That’s it. All I ask. I understand you want people to get so frustrated with the difficulty that they break their computer monitors. That’s -fine-. Just these rocks react with unreal speed and give the player next to -no- time to react or protect themselves. Especially so during World 1-1 the pit portion about halfway through where it’s nothing but straight jumping rocks.

Hopefully this is in the right place, and it doesn’t cause any problems.

I’m just curious if anyone’s got a general idea where certain skins have been dropping?

Specifically I’m trying to get my hands on Poyaqui’s Noggin. [the Omnomberry mug]. But I suppose we could get together a general list of what’s been appearing where, and see if it’ll be any help.

[I’ve tried search a few times, with several different terms, and nothings really come up, so thought I’d make the topic.]

I honestly wouldn’t mind the new sword so much if it wasn’t constantly pumping like it is. Just closed when sheathed, and open when drawn. LIKE THE OTHER TWO BLADES. The Dagger and Greatsword just Open when drawn, they don’t constantly thrust or pump like the one hand.

Well, if that picture of the Axe tells us nothing else, the Jade Weapons are going to be -pretty-. I just really hope the 1Hand sword is straight edge or katana-like. [I’m aware these’s a curve in katanas, shh]. Getting a little tired of all the jagged edged weapons.

You gotta deal with the bad to appreciate the good. I’m seeing a lot of people complaining about the ‘new’ Vendors in Southsun, how they are giving generic armor and weapon skins.

Was I disapointed? Yes. But I’m not going to let it ruin my game experience.

Now, I sort of noticed a Trend, the ‘Living Story’ content tends to drag on far too long, with very little payoff.

But. The ‘holiday/Festival’ events? that’s where it’s at. They’re usually just a week or two long, and have a load of fun new items and Skins. I actually cannot wait for it to begin.

So, I’m suggesting that everyone who has a problem with the SouthSun event, just.. suck it up a little. Dragon Bash looks to be promising, just something fun to do in game.

Even then, if Dragon Bash isn’t going to be your thing, Next month might be! Just need to have some patience is all. Yes, I’m going to say it. Good things come to those who wait.

I’m starting to think that if people actually take the effort, like this, to draw and give examples of hairstyles, Anet should try and meet the players halfway with these sort of things. This is the second topic I’ve seen about new hairstyles where the creator actually came to the place WITH workable ideas! I personally like all the hair styles, some more than others, and would love to see them added to the game.

So, here I am, about to do a little impromptu Roleplay where my character is using a forge of some sort to put his weapon together. When I realize, looking at the station.

I have NO idea how a Sylvari crafting station works. I don’t see a fire or anything. Just glowing bark and such. I assume it’s.. somehow super heated but doesn’t effect the branches, roots and vines around it?

For that matter, how do Asura crafting stations work?

Really curious about the both of these.

Can we get like, a ‘cleansed’ or ‘clean’ version of the weapon or something? Don’t get me wrong. I love the new weapons, and I fell in love with the One-handed sword almost instantly, except for one thing.

That… hilt. I mean, like.. sure, it’s cool. if you have like, an evil character, or want to weild a Soul Edge. That blade though, it’s -exactly- what I’ve been waiting for, a straight edged sword of decent length with some details like the nicks and shape.

I just can’t get past the hilt/guard because it doesn’t fit the general -feel- of my character.

So, during the intro cinematic where the badguy kidnaps the ‘princess’. I always thought his model was bugged out, with his sword in his hand, and one just sort of there infront of him. Until upon further review I realized..

Just a simple idea, I think anyway, not really sure how or what sort of coding would go into it.

I’d like to see maybe an Exotic Scepter, that is.. nothing. Like, call it ’Channeler’s Hand’ or something. Idea would be that instead of using a scepter to use the skill/magic, it would actually be their hand.

Though, I’ve only really played Elementalist, so I’m not sure what all the other professions look like when using a Scepter. But it would work for sure with an elementalist.

So, I’m sitting here, trying to craft up an Exquisite Ruby Jewel. But for whatever reason, Ruby Orbs are Artifcer only all of a sudden? and I’ve tried checking both my Discovery and crafting windows, it doesn’t appear there at all. Infact, most of the ‘Orb’ jewels have been removed from my Jeweler discovery and crafting windows. [So far I can craft Exquisite Beryl and Snowflake.]

Has this happened to anyone else? or is this because I’ve got Jeweler and Artificer selected as my crafts? Either way, it’s a HUGE bug and needs to be looked into.

Anyone else notice this?

So. For one of my characters, I use the last face option for Asura. I like it, it’s got a lot of expressive potential [I think that it can be made into the angriest face out of all of them, but also the most happy or wide-eyed curious type.]

But there is also one thing that bugs me about the face. On the darker skin colors, the skin around the mouth and nose is lighter. On it’s own that wouldn’t bug me. But for some reason above the upper lip, and below the nose there appears to be a shimmer/sleekness that causes that particular face to mistakenly have the appearance of -huge- lips. Or that he’s perpetually making the ‘duck face’.

As of this moment, I have been unable to find a way to mask that or over it up [with the exception of face covering head gear, but I don’t want that.] I bring this up in hopes that somehow Anet takes a look at this and gives it a minor tune up. Not a priority, but it’d be nice.

Included are two images, one set to ‘Best Appearance’ and another set to my computers ‘auto-detect- settings. In both it’s possible to see that lighter spot above the lip.

This might get moved to Suggestions, not sure. But did want to make other Asura players aware of this, incase they wanted to make a dark skinned asura with the last face option. Beware, you’ll have duck-face!

No, this isn’t ‘hay, what i need to make this’. I’ve been doing a Roleplay Scene with a couple of friends about copying Inquest weapon designs for character weapons, and we’ve come up with a curious question.

The Crucible of Eternity Weapons [like, the dagger and Sword, specifically for the RP.] What metals do you think are involved in the crafting?

While it may not be the case, In character, we had come up, looking at the design, that it’s a couple different metals. The blade itself could be just about anything, We’re not sure if it could be Darksteel, Platinum, Mithril or Orichalcum, or maybe it’s a unique alloy the Inquest developed.

Then, if you look at the Inquest Sword/Dagger [or the Mystic weapons] there’s another metal along the inside of the opening in the blade. We’ve decided that it’s the ‘conductor’ for the electric charge that courses through/along the blade to give it the effect. The core to give the charge, is in the Hilt of the blade of course.

So, we’re trying to figure out what metal might have been used for that too. Again, could be any of the known, or the unnamed inquest alloy for the sake of argument.

I’m more or less trying to spark an idea thread, of what could be used. What are your ideas/theories?

My friend and myself, have decided it could either be Darksteel or Orichalcum for either of the pieces, or the Unnamed Alloy mentioned.

So, I was thinking, with each new Seasonal Event that Anet tosses our way, we get more ‘skins’ that we can apply to our gear for pure cosmetics. I like this function, I think we just need to have it expanded a little more.

In particular, I’d like to see some Eyeglasses/sunglasses that we could apply to our head items. Or perhaps a purely cosmetic ‘Eye’ slot for gear that only shows up when we remove our helmets/hoods/whatever.

My other suggestion is something to make the Orders of Tyria more.. developed. I love the orders, The Pact was nice. But the only interacting with our order comes from our Personal Stories.

My idea involves adding repeatable ‘missions’ [I’m aware Anet tried to do away with missions, what with all the open world quest stuff], that we can get points for our order with.

I think it would add a little bit of depth to each Order, like for the Whispers, you could perform ‘stealthy’ type missions, securing items, assassinations. Vigil could be ‘defeat X amount of X enemy’, Priory has quests involving finding lost artifacts or such. [I don’t have much experience with Vigil or Priory, I love me some Whispers, but you get the idea. I don’t mean to sound like giving the whisper more favor, just giving examples.]

These points would allow an alternative to purchasing the Orders Armor/weapons, maybe more powerful versions for a high amount of Order points. Could also give us access to more Titles, as I was rather surprised we didn’t get corresponding titles for the orders as we progressed our PS’s through the order storylines.

So, that’s what I got for now.

Bumping cause I’d like a little more advice.

I’m still going Sword/Dagger and Dual Pistol.

But I thinking of redoing my traits as, Toughness/Critical/condition Damage. With a focus on slot skills of being Venoms with Thieves Guild as my Elite.

I’m not sure what sort of Weapon/Armor Stats to focus on though, items that further boost those three? or stats that make up for the one’s I’m not boosting with traits.

So. I was looking at the preview of the Sword just a moment ago, and I noticed it had some particles in the preview. As I recall though, the sword was bugged/unfinished for whatever reason, and didn’t share any of the effects as the other Peacemaker/T3 Asura Cultural weapons.

So, I was wondering if anyone by chance has happened to use/purchase the weapon recently to confirm if the effects of the weapon are present in world. (since many effects are not present in preview, like the glypic weapons energy.)

So, being a roleplayer. Even before the game was released, I know what Weapon combination I was going to use for my character for combat and dungeons. [I decided early that I’m not going to do much WvW cause, it’s just not my thing.]

That concept, was Sword/Dagger with Dual Pistol as a secondary.

I know, most people are upset with the Sword/Dagger sets because they say it’s hard to find a build for it. I’ve been happy with my build for PvE, it’s served me well.

Dungeons on the other hand? I didn’t know I was going to have problems with Dungeons. [Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoy them, just want to be helpful to the team.]

Now, my big thing is that I’m stubborn when it comes to characters, and don’t like breaking concepts so I can ‘fit the mold’ or whatever.

Now, from what I’ve seen, most topics about Sword/Dagger are people asking how to be better at PvP/WvW with.

I’m asking if anyone can help me with a Dungeon build. I’m sure different dungeons require different alterations to a build, but I can figure that out as I go.

As it stands, my traits are just kind of everywhere:
Deadly arts – 20; Venomous Strength, Combined Training
Critical Strikes – 15; Side Strike
Shadow Arts – 20; Cloaked in Shadow, Leeching Venoms
Acrobatics – 0
Trickery – 15; Thrill of the Crime.

Then my Utility Skills tend to swap out when I feel like, I usually have two venoms, and alternate between Caltrops and other a couple others to test them out during runs.

My stats are all over the place because I’m just weird when it comes to armor/gear. I expect to make many purchases to fix things up.

Anyway. If anyone could give me a little hand with a Dungeon Build that Compliments Sword/Dagger and Dual Pistol?

Weapon size scaling, intended or bug?

This does make me curious. Been wondering how many different weapons suffer from this effect.

I’ve had my eyes on the Inquest Sword from the CoE Token vendor, and I got discouraged because of his small it looked in the preview.

Though recently I saw a screencap of it on I think a human [Couldn’t see past the waist, since the sword was the focus] and it was bigger in that screen than the Preview on my Sylvari.

Does anyone know about that weapon in specific?

Long Story short. I like browsing weapons, previewing them and seeing how that look on my characters, but I’ve seen many posts about how weapons seem to have a different ‘size’ depending on when it’s sheathed or drawn. Perhaps preview scales them down slightly in some cases.

I happen to be quite a fan of the ‘energy/electric’ weapons, like the Glyphic, Peacemaker and Inquest sets. I’ve had my eyes set on the Inquest Sword for a while, but what’s upsetting me is how small it looks. I know they’re ‘short swords’ for one handed, but it seems just too small for me.

But that was in preview. I’ve seen a couple screens where the blade seemed to reach down to about the ankle, where as on my Sylvari in the preview, it barely seems to reach below the knee. Can anyone help me confirm this?

Game Breaking! Tier 3 Asura Cultural Weapons!

Wow. I am -so- glad I decided to do a little research. I was literally about to post a topic asking if someone could post a picture of the T3 Asura Sword with effects. Was gonna grab it, if it had the same glowy effects. Guess I’ll have to wait until they fix it. Cause I’m a fan of ‘energy/glowy’ weapons.

Now if only the Crucible of Eternity Inquest Sword were longer, I’d save for that instead. As that stands, that sword is -too- short.

So, everyone and their grandma has been suggesting the ‘Gangnam Style’ dance be added to the animations for dancing. Some suggest for future races, some want it to be for everyone, some want it to be purchased with Gems.

MY suggestion? I’d like to see the Gallop and the Gallop with the hand lasso parts of the dance [essentially the first two moves in the dance] be a part of a WALKING animation.

Why?

Because anyone can just add another dance. I just think it’d be great to see a mob of people just dance-walking through Lions Arc or any of the towns.

… This is in no way a product of me listening to the song on Repeat for several hours. Nope. Not at all.
