I just tested minion AI in PvP and I can confirm that the AI is not working properly. More than half of the time my flesh golem would simply follow me around. If I used his ability to charge, he’d charge at the enemy that I had been attacking but then he’d go right back to following me. If I was lucky he’d get a hit or two in during an entire fight.
This is something that needs to be addressed in order for necromancer minion builds to be viable.
