Small update:
We did some nice open mic events and we joined CA for a guild run on reset. Both worked out really good and we will probably keep doing it.
We are still open for more people. First of all we want to build a community, so we want people to actually want to play with us and not just rep once a week or something. We are doing everything the game has to offer and not just WvW
Don’t want to have another job in a game? Don’t want to be forced to play? Join us for some fun instead
With Halloween our focus was a bit off this week, but we are still looking for new people interested in fun WvW evenings
We either roam around or join zergs / lead zergs.
We are getting more and more people in. We are actively sorting out people who don’t play this game anymore, but are still at 200+ again, so that’s nice.
Feel free to join us now and you don’t have to play the whole new living story content alone
After a quite horrible start on Friday we did much better on Monday. We had enough people to cause a lot of trouble for the enemy and helped out our zerg here and there. But most importantly we had fun!
You can join the fun too
Want to join a community of people? Playing alone is boring? Dont hesitate to join us
Join now and take part in guild missions (today) and our new PvE Event (tomorrow) hosted by two of our officers. Even I don’t know what it is yet! :P
Well this week was a bit too easy ;P
We got a few people from a WvW guild in, that’s nice. This is a good time to point out that we also welcome whole guilds! Join us and get more fun out of the game with more people to play with! It’s not rocket science
Advertising here seems to work so lets keep it rolling! We just finished one of our many PvE Events. This time it was “Guild bounty tier 4”. Want to join the fun? Write me ingame!
Even though we had several connection problems amongst our players we still managed to do some succesful WvW runs!
Still looking for more people to join us
We got some new people in! Still open fore more of course
Hey there!
I’m a guild leader in the official Reddit EU guild [rddt] based in Aurora Glade and we are looking for social people who want to have some fun in WvW!
To make it short: We had our fair share of spotlight in the earlier time of GW2. We split up into a WvW and PvE guild at which point we lost some of the important community aspects that are very important to use. It caused some drama, but our PvE part has always been very successful. After focusing mainly on PvE we want to get back into WvW now. We are not and probably never will be a WvW guild. We do everything the game has to offer and enjoy all content. Our philosophy is to create a community where we have people for all aspects of the game. That way people don’t have to join several guilds and can get everything they want in one place. So even if you only do WvW you will find people to do WvW with, who joined for the same reason. And once you want to take a break there are still others you can join for dungeons, fractals or our many PvE events.
Since we focus on creating a community for everything the game has to offer we want people to join who actually want to play with us. That means people who are representing us and not just use us to gain some guild commendations once a week. If you don’t want to represent us then there is no point joining us in the first place.
Don’t want to commit to a seperate hardcore WvW guild?
You are playing for fun and don’t want to be forced to be online all the time?
Then the [rddt] guild might be for you! We usually do WvW twice a week were we either roam around or we take part in organized guild runs.
Of course we have our own voice server and all guild upgrades, etc.
With the ongoing tournament now is the best time to join and get what you want!
If you want to play with us then just write me here or ingame! Tellsarius.4651
The Aurora Glade based casual friendly official reddit EU guild [rddt] is welcoming newbies & veterans alike
Hey there!
I’m one of the leaders of the “The Karma Initiative” [rddt] the official EU reddit guild that got created out of the GW2 subreddit r/guildwars2 more than 2 years ago. Most of us are from Aurora Glade so if you want to join us for WvW fun you need to be on that server (or have luck with the colors to join us in eotm). For all the other things we do it doesn’t matter though.
We have always been focused on providing a fun and helpful community. We do everything the game has to offer and therefore have a schedule each week filled with WvW, PvP and PvE events that our members can take part in.
Our philosophy is that a guild can have people for all the content and doesn’t have to split up into several guilds, one for each content (a PvE guild, a WvW guild, a open world boss guild, etc). We want to form a community and have done so for the last 2 years.
I would say we are very casual friendly since we don’t have any mandatory events and don’t kick just because someone is inactive for a week or two. Our only requirement is that we want people that actually want to play with us. There is no point in joining a guild if you never represent for example. We don’t mind personal bank guilds, etc. but we invite people so they are a part of a community and not just to use us to get guild commendations once a week.
We of course have all the guild upgrades, a voice server, etc.
So if this sounds like something you may want to join just write me an ingame message to Tellsarius.4651
1. Location: Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany
2. Time and Date: Almost every evening my time (~20:00 – 21:00 CEST)
3. Game World: Aurora Glade
4. Description: Almost every evening I have lag problems, doesn’t matter what map. Today it was in PvP, on Friday it was WvW, a few days earlier it was a PvE zone. I get disconnected a lot during that time. Later (past 22:00 CEST) it seems to get better.
Today though I also got FPS issues. Might be unrelated, but I could play all day with high FPS and no lag. Made a break and came online later in the evening. I select a char and immediately enter Heart of the Mists. No lag. First PvP match starts and I have terrible lag spikes, Im talking easily 8-10 seconds here (usually that’s when I get disconnected but not today). Back to lobby, works fine again. Next match was ok, only small lag spikes. Third game absolutely horrible again. Got disconnected mid game. Big lag spikes. Unplayable. PvP lobby fine again. I get out of the lobby back to rata sum, all of a sudden my FPS drop by the second. Like a countdown I could see my FPS drop to 8. Changed to a different char on a different map: ~50 FPS again. Back to my pvp char in rata sum and I have ~35 FPS but again they are going down fast. I try to change the map and it takes 70 seconds to load. My FPS are still low, then for a second they go up to 30 FPS and all of a sudden I’m in char select screen o.O
That never happened before. Might be a problem with the latest Nvidia driver. GW2 is the only game that had this happen though. It should have nothing to do with the current lag problem, but I thought I mention it.
I don’t think anyone has mentioned that yet, so I just wanted to add:
Elixir Gun #5 + Throw Wrench (toolbelt skill from tool kit) = Condition removal
Shield #5 works too. Only problem is, for the combo to work you have to be in melee range.
I’m running (almost) exactly the same build and necros (or better: conditions) are the biggest weak spot of the build.
So today was a nightmare… about 30 people had the wrong achievement points because the leaderboards are just showing some random numbers that don’t make any sense whatsoever. Had to look them up myself ingame and manually change everyones progress. Please ANet, look into this.
I guess it has something to do with how often someone gets achievement points (new patch, lots of inactive people coming back).
The leaderboards are still not working consistenly by the way. For example right now it only gives me a “Internal Server Error” message. It’s not as bad as it was a few months ago, but it’s still far from perfect. I could understand a downtime for a couple of minutes when the points get updated, but its like this for up to 2h sometimes.
Yep, same here for us. Drake didnt work for any guild that tried it.
I can’t wait for a good guild API. It would make it a lot easier to gain information. Especially when we can see who is representing, because that’s the one thing I want which is not easily obtainable.
A tip for other desperate guild leaders (:P) you can check for activity on the achievement points leaderboards. It shows you the AP of every member. If it changes, that person must have been online. It’s not perfect, because someone could play without getting any AP at all, but that’s a rather rare case.
Based on that I create reports for our members to see, like who got the most AP in the last 30 days, how often were people online, how many people were last online today/this week/this month, etc.
If a dev reads this: is it possible to store data like that ingame for guild leaders to see? Or is the API solution the end goal and managing guilds is supposed to be done with external tools?
Hey there,
today the leaderboards have been working consistently for the first time ever since I looked at them the first time months ago. I literally checked them every day and I’ve gotten more and more errors until the site was barely usable at all. But today it worked fine. I can refresh the site and get a result every time! Whatever you have done, it worked!
BUT
the leaderboards are still showing wrong information. Some people in my guild have the wrong amount of achievement points assigned to them. I first noticed that when I started recording everyones achievement point progress (to get a grasp on member activity). Some people gain/lose thousands of achievement points from one day to another. When I compare the leaderboard results with the ingame information I can see that the data from the leaderboard has to be wrong.
For example:
According to the leaderboards one guy has 1834 achievement points, but ingame it says 5303. Yesterday the leaderboard said 5298.
So this guy probably just got 5 points today, but for some reason the leaderboard is displaying 1834. I don’t know where that number is coming from, but it’s obviously false. If all the other cases are any indication then I guess the leaderboard will display the correct amount again tomorrow, but someone else will be missing/gaining thousands of points.
I can’t identify any pattern for this error. Most people get the correct amount, some don’t. One day the information is wrong, the next day it’s correct again. It seems very random.
Please take a look at the leaderboards and try to identify the problem. This is really important since guild leaders have no other option to check for their members activity.
Thanks.
Yeah I noticed that problem too (months ago). I thought maybe its only in my guild. Small guilds, with only ~5 people seem to work way better.
But it gets even worse. Because even if you do get the data it is wrong sometimes.
I use the achievement points to see if someone was online. If the points have changed, that person must have been online (it’s not perfect, but hey..better than nothing).
Anyway, the leaderboard is displaying THE WRONG AMOUNT OF ACHIEVEMENT POINTS!
Example of what this looks like
BraveHero.1234 – 01.03.2014 – 1008 points
BraveHero.1234 – 02.03.2014 – 1017 points
BraveHero.1234 – 03.03.2014 – 378 points
BraveHero.1234 – 04.03.2014 – 1037 points
At first I thought I did something wrong. But today this happened with two people who both got wrong achievement points within the last check. According to the leaderboards one of them made like 3000 achievement points in one day. I even checked ingame. The leaderboards and the ingame points are off by a couple of thousand.
This, plus the fact that the leaderboard are not working most of the time makes it extremely difficult to use this feature. And since we don’t have any other possibility to check online activity it’s a big deal to most big guilds. So please take a look ANet!
Cant quote them but I’m pretty sure someone from ANet said that WvW isn’t supposed to be fair. There is no balance. That’s way a large number of people can fight against a small number of people. There just is no fair fight going on even if everyone had the same stats/skills.
The rewards for dolyaks have been removed because of bots who got tons of money/karma/xp whatever…
Maybe they will add them back, I don’t know
I don’t think we will get new borderlands. It wouldn’t really fix anything in the long run and if ANet wanted to implement them they could have done it by now to give people shorter queue times. Instead they told everyone to look out for less populated server by showing us the queue times.
So I’m pretty sure they don’t want to implement new borderlands and I can understand that.
Don’t know about the last point. ANet stated that it is possible to get pretty much everything in WvW you would normally get in PvE. It might be harder but it’s still possible. So I don’t know if they plan to change anything (I hope they do something) but I doubt they will.
I have to agree. I don’t have much experience with other professions but I played some tournaments or random PvPs every now and then and it’s ridciculous how fast we die. We need LF otherwise we are pretty much screwed. Stability for 3s in DS and at least one stun breaker + condition removal is absolutely mandatory. The skill that converts boons on enemies into conditions is a must have against guardians but they just convert them again. Condition damage against guardians is helpfull, since they don’t have much HP but their strong heal counters that quite easily.
All in all you have to put A LOT of work in your build and play a lot of matches until you have a small change to actually do something useful. The profession is very hard to learn and even then it’s one of the worst. Professions like Thief, Warrior or Guardian have a very easy entry level so people can get better from that. That’s what’s lacking with the necro.
