Thanks for the hard work on looking into the various questions and issues following the compensation announcement. It is much appreciated.

Therefore if you had a successful raid kill during the time frame and got suitable loot drops for any such/said kills, you do not qualify for the compensation? Is that correct?

I hope so because there is no reason for someone to get a compensation who got all rewards from all killed encounters. And I also hope nobody here is whining because he/she didn’t get a compensation although rewards weren’t buggy for them. That just feels wrong.

I don’t entirely disagree, but was just asking for clarification based on their announcement. Also, the people I did group with and who got compensated indicated they did not miss out on any normal loot during the timeframe, despite the bug being active elsewhere in the game. So I am just asking for criteria clarification to better understand if I should follow this issue any further.

On the other hand, some people getting the usual exotic trash and one LI on the same kill as people missing just that same roll means that those who might walk away with missing less than 5gp in value of drops for as little as a single kill get compensated with a 70+ gp chest or legs (because those are easily the best value thing to pick)? But people that got a normal trash drop (poor quality roll) on the same kill end up with the usual trash? Sorry, but one LI isn’t worth a chest/legs piece. I get that they may want to avoid double rewarding folks that maybe already rolled some kind of ascended gear on that normal roll, but I know people who got ascended gear from their kills in that time AND got compensated too. Seems like aNET erred on the side of generosity but just ran into some analytics and mailing issues.

Finally, if the intent was to only distribute to those missing 1 or more loot rolls, it should have been explicitly stated that way. As stated, it created confusion that all participants in a successful kill during the time frame would get this mail. That statement seemed to imply that they didn’t have the time/interest/roi to delve down to specific drops and it wouldn’t break the economy to be a bit more generous to act on what would probably be a broader and easier analysis.

A few other things to consider…

I’m pretty sure I got my first ever Xera kill and first ever Keep Construct kill during the time frame in question (Tuesday 20 overnight into Wednesday 21), but it’s getting to be a few weeks now and I don’t have logs. Thus, I am sharing right up front, that I may not be recalling the time of these kills exactly right.

Here are a few other things, if I am recalling correctly -
1. The Xera kill started as a training run, but we ended up replacing people as the night went on and eventually we cleared it. Some of us never left the instance as others left/joined prior to the formation of the final group of us that got the kill.

2. It was my first Xera kill, so I got the Achievement related Box of Raider’s Supplies. I don’t know if that shows up in the analytics or if it does whether or not that would be a situation to invalidate credit for this distribution. Since I got that box and was focused on the first Xera kill and making sure I wasn’t missing anything on the Legendary Armor Collection steps during/after that kill, I wasn’t paying close attention to “normal” loot and can’t recall exactly if I got an LI or other loot (again, I’m not sure if receiving normal loot is disqualifying).

After that, we exited and shuffled the group a bit again and came back in to do Keep Construct (since a few of us hadn’t done KC successfully ever). We killed Keep Construct. Again, this was my first kill of Keep Construct, so I wasn’t really watching the other factors. I think we were fairly stable in terms of player participation for that successful encounter and kill, although some players might have switched accounts between those instances.

Other players I know in those groups with me at those times got the distribution. I did not. However, I don’t know if they participated in other successful raid kills in the same time frame that I did not attend and they are being compensated for those instead?

Thanks. I know it’s a bit rambling, but maybe there’s some more scenarios to consider in there.

So the criteria are -
1. Successful raid kill
2. During the time of the bug
3. And you got no LI from the kill?

Therefore if you had a successful raid kill during the time frame and got suitable loot drops for any such/said kills, you do not qualify for the compensation? Is that correct?

Well, it’s sort of a holiday weekend state side and a lot of people might take a day off on Monday, prior to the Tuesday holiday. If the North America team is sending those mails, I wouldn’t be surprised if all activity, and updates about it, will be quiet until Wednesday the 5th. Best just to settle in for a long wait now.

So is the distribution done? Will there be a dev post update here when it is done so people know to stop waiting?

Maybe it goes without saying, but is the compensation only going to those who had bugged loot on kills during the time frame, or any group that completed kills during the time frame of the bug, whether they received any loot or not?

Overload Air Nerf...

in Elementalist

Keep in mind that they nerfed overload last balance patch by 10% so that’s 17% dps down the drain on top of it’s neutered Meteor storm

And you gotta love the typical response, and it’s still the highest dps. But if that continues.. Eles will not be worth playing because of other classes dishing out respectable damaage and still able to take hits.

Agreed. Given the exclusive PvE split of the MS nerf in particular, it is clear the AoE DPS changes to Tempest were all based around eliminating excessive use of Tempests in raids; despite the likelihood that almost no Tempests could actually reach golem-like benchmark DPS levels in many boss encounters.

I get that Tempest needed a turn not on the DPS throne, but there were other ways to do it besides taking it almost completely out of the Power DPS Raid meta other than large hit-box. And it looked like large hit box was intended to be nerfed harder but the nerf failed to be executed, so that spot is probably also very temporary pending the next big balance pass.

It also would have not been unreasonable if some of the survival skills that actually see real use in PvE, or the base HP, would have been buffed as a trade off, or that if a difficult rotation was achieved, then a Tempest could still burst or spike into the top 3 DPS at times (maybe not at a 100% sustain rate). But now… Now it’s just… ???

Tempest and Ele were the glass canon before and their risk/reward made sense. Now, their risk/reward is always outweighed by another class when it comes to Raids, and they will join Revenant on the Looking For More/Looking For Group raid bench for probably quite a long time as some kind of “payback” for being over tuned for the last 16 months. They probably will get to sub in for large hit box for a little while longer at least, but that’s about it.

I’m getting a feeling that the Elementalist nerf will never be addressed in this thread

I’m getting the feeling its the elephant in the room that is going to be summarily ignored.

Ignoring is what you do when you have a ton of data, logic, and facts to defend your actions. Obviously.

No. If you have a ton of data, logic, and facts, you present it succinctly to shut down the initial complaints and THEN you ignore further complaints or drama about it.

But didn’t Celestial stats get nerfed too? I was wearing 1 Celestial accessory last night and log in today and have less health. Everything else is Zerk, and sure enough the Celestial accessory went from +57 all stats to +50 all stats.

Upgrade Extractor is too expensive

I think everyone tends to agree Anet overlooked this one big time (I sure hope that’s the explanation and not that they SERIOUSLY expect us to buy 6 upgrade extractors to remove runes from a set of armor that can’t be salvaged).

My suggestion is a one time purchase item that uses transmutation charges to extract upgrades.

Agreed regarding the oversight. Disagree regarding the one time purchase, although it is the most innovative solution I’ve seen proposed so far that fits within the new system. I simply oppose it because that further diminishes the value of transmuting from the functionality it used to have if stat transfer is separate from appearance changing and it requires a feature purchase for something that did not used to require me to make a feature purchase. Maybe if said one-time item was enabled and available both through the gem store and from an in game quest?

Game Updates: Wardrobe, Transmutation, Outfits

Count me among the group of feedback that is disappointed in the lost ability to transfer upgrade items like runes and in the new Transmutation Charge system. This was maybe the most common thing I used transmutation for while leveling up characters as well as moving those upgrades from Exotic to Ascended gear at endgame. Now, it is likely I will not bother coordinating my runes until max level since as a player that falls somewhere between casual and dedicated I don’t have the vast in-game wealth to afford constantly repurchasing many of the better upgrades not to mention actual Upgrade Extractors from the gem store. Besides, doing the latter would be a huge loss anyway because of the relative gold/gem value of Extractors compared to most mods. That said, even if extractors were cheap, I wouldn’t buy them for this purpose and I would just suffer along until I could create a maxxed out piece of gear with the exact rune I want before putting in any runes.

By not optimizing my gear while leveling, it makes it even more likely I’ll be kicked from LFG Pick Up Groups for not having optimized my gear towards the Zerker meta at any given moment. These changes progressively push a large segment of players that are not in large and well organized guilds further towards the fringe of the game by making it more difficult to form groups for FotM and dungeons prior to 80, a problem that already existed and does not appear to be alleviated by this change combined with the leveling changes to the traits system.

I respectfully do not agree that these changes allow me to play how I want and play in a way that is relatively less grinding than other games. Please reconsider this lost aspect of the old transmutation system.

So just what is this, “Ferocity,” they are replacing it with?
Will it be like Fury, as in a temporarily built thing, or some kind of new gear stat?
