If you are looking for Commanders stats in the future, such as Commander’s Ascended armor, you want to do Dragon’s Stand and buy from the vendor at the end. Also , Tizlak’s is the name for the Ascended Commander’s gear. There isn’t much on the wiki yet about it.
Personally, You can get Berserker’s and Rampagers already and you can just transmute the look. I mistakenly deconstructed my bow and had to replace it with something else. Now I’m grinding for the ascended bow. If I could do it again, I’d get it with Commander’s with no hesitation.
I really liked how Everquest 2 handled things. You basically had a building, but when you clicked the door, you got to pick the instance you go to. It’s exactly how the guild office works. Technically, this was player housing, but they were used for Guild Halls all the same.
There is also the LOTR method where you can go to a zone point and everyone has a set “Neighborhood” or zone to pick with neighbors and plots to choose from. There were large places for big guilds.
The way GW2 has implemented is really a combination of these if you think about it. It’s it’s own zone. you can see them from the map, they are just out of the way. You can port to and from there like any map. It appears on the map just like any other zone.
As far as making the guild hall active, what I would like to see is Guild Hall missions. Maybe even dailies. Add a Training Hall where you play mini games, like the Seraph training in Claypool, Queensdale. Add some daily mining nodes where we can pickup a mining pick and help increase the amount of ore the guild gets. Add some crafting specific guild hall additions where you have to bake a bunch of pies or do something to assist the NPCs. And finally, add an NPC Guild Recruiter. You do various odds and ends for this gal to bring in more NPCs so the place doesn’t seem so barren. You could pick the areas to put people so you can make sure they don’t bother your guildmates rooms, if they have chosen one. If you don’t want them, you don’t have to upgrade to the Recruiter.
For some reason, the “auto detect” graphics are lower on the 64bit version than on the 32bit version. 32 sets everything to high, 64 sets Environment and character model and limit to medium.
Are we "forced" to "chose" the elite spec ?

I despise the Dragonhunter and continue to stick with my current Guardian build. Not only is it not mandatory, I actually prefer it. It’s good that people like the new Specs but to say it’s required is not true. They unlock new things but they can drastically change your play style. Going from a ranged Thief to a melee Daredevil is quite different. Its the same with Necro’s and Reaper. If you don’t like being up in the face of battle, it’s not going to be for you. The new zones are fine with traditional builds, however, you will have to adjust to new monster AIs, which can be a challenge with any build.
You may also run into a gear set issue. If you don’t have any condition gear, your Warrior may see less damage running as a Berserker which focuses heavily on burns, so you may want to switch. But don’t destroy your old gear as you may find Berserker is not really for you and you will want to switch back. They have also added new stat gear so you may find something that is better anyway.
Summary: No, they are not required, but you should try it to see if you like it.
Guild hall costs are insane for small guilds

And yet, they cater the easy missions to 3.
I’m fine with the amount of supplies, but there should be another option. Our three man PVE “guild” doesn’t even want a “hall” that’s the size of 1/3rd of a zone and we don’t want any PvP missions. Just give us a small house or let us decorate our own Guild Initiative office.

…anything less than that is really just a small group and can use the Lion’s Arch HQ hall.
Not when you’ve gated upgrades specifically around the Guild Hall!
Let us unlock the WvW stuff in the guild office. Remove the nonsense like an anvil that just wasted favor that is very precious as a small group.
Ideally, they will add small specialized guild halls that focus on the respective areas of WvW, PvE or PvP. These smaller halls would bypass some of the gates, like the tavern, allowing them to stay focused but wouldn’t allow anything else outside of that unless they upgraded to a larger hall. Example: A WvW hall would only allow WvW upgrades. They would have to pay another 100 gold and 100 favor to transfer to a larger hall.

I have the exact same issue. The map shows i’m missing one Hero Point. The actual point in game shows completed and I got the points for it, but the map did not actually complete. I’ve redone the point at least 6 times now and still nothing.
There are 2 points that are mixed up, when you completed one point, it actually gave you credit for a different point. The 2 points that are mixed up is The one all the way in the south west corner south of Treachorous Paths, and the other one is in a Pact Ship directly east of Faren’s Flyer, there is a mastery point near it as well. You are missing one of those, when you do one of those it gives you credit for the other one instead of the one you did. Go to the one that the map makes you look like you did it, cause that is the one you are missing.
Excellent. This worked for me. I now have map completion.
7/10 Quite pleased. The grinds and events can be a bit much. Masteries could be a bit better. They appear to be nothing but sugar coated time gates that force zone play but i’m fine with that now that we have ascended weapons that go with that grind. Gotta get them golden carrots!
Ahh ok. That’s good news. In the mean time we can begin collecting resources for future upgrades. This was very helpful.
WvW and other missions are locked. When you are under Guild level 10, the only thing listed in the easy category is PvP conquest. That’s what we are seeing.
It appears the only way to level a guild is by earning favor and the only easy 3 man content for guilds that are under level 10 is PvP? Does this mean a small guild must PvP to raise their guild level? What am I missing? I’m checking the Guild panel and I’ve talked to Grimur Oddurson and all I can see is that we will have to do Easy PvP missions to raise our PvE guild to 10. I’m sure I’m missing something but it’s not apparent.

As an old school gamer who still remembers the Shadows of Luclin, in overall volume, HoT felt very impressive to me. This is the issue when you add so many things in small areas. If you just look at the personal story, it is short. But HoT, and the lead up to it, was a lot more than that. It added so many elements that I won’t get to them all such as new legendaries and their quests, fractal changes, guild halls, new zones, masteries, new ways to get ascended gear, specializations, a new class, PVP, new skins, new Commander UI, gliding, and I’m sure there is more. In total, it is massive. Some areas I’m not even interested in, which I think is great as that something else to get into. I think that is why I appreciated it. It opens up so much for different people and different play styles of the game that I think they handled really well.
If they had a singular focus, think of it this way; How would the WvW/PvP people feel if they released a long, well designed story with nothing in those zones? You would have had nothing but complaints about how ANet no longer cares about them and they would likely leave. the same for PVE if the entire expansion was focused on WvW. And entire guild expansion would likely alienate a lot of single players.
Story wise, we just need time. The Living Story will get updated and every few months we’ll get a new part.

Instead of fixing it they should add a small mini game, Phoenix Wright style, to contradict the facts recorded, unveiling a plot of some historian to rewrite history.
[Spoiler Alert]A grand funeral[Spoiler Alert]

LS3 is likely to begin with traherne’s funeral, and be quickly disrupted by disturbing news of something sinister being afoot.
While you are likely to be spot on, I’d like to have a few episodes to wrap up some plot holes and do some clean up; Fix up those forts, clear out some Mordy events, cut down those poor Asura that we just run by and leave hanging in the vines, fix Claw Island, clean up some of that debris in Kessex. A little respite before we get back into things. I’m sure the other three dragons will certainly be taking notice now.
Also, I think a grand funeral would be nice, maybe a graveyard or memorial too. It doesn’t have to be Wadi us-Salaam, but something where we could go and .. you know….press f to pay respects.
If you are ran Physicals, you had 0 chance, so no, it isn’t.
Improvisation “fix” is kind of nerf…
Do you mean this?
Thief
Deadly Arts: Improvisation: Fixed an issue that prevented this trait from recharging physical skills when stealing from an enemy.
Because that’s not a nerf.
Just like Mr. Miyagi said, “The best defense is not to be there.” You won’t need a lot of health and defense if you stay on the move. The only reason to go Knights or Valkyrie is if you are trying to use the “My face to foot” style. I should warn you, this is not a good technique!
In other words, don’t leap “away”, leap “into” battle.
I say sure! Technically, you could host this today on your own with some gemstore outfits, dyes and some friends. I don’t think you should get anything special out of it though other than what you buy each other.
This is from someone who plays with his wife and daughter. My wife and I also got married in EQ many years ago as well.
That said, anyone who says it would be too much IRL drama has never had a bad pug. Now that’s drama! I’d relax at a wedding over that kind of BS any day.
I feel for you, Riccardo. I have a build that I like and I will usually stick to that regardless of what the meta is and sometimes in spite of it. The attitude and audacity that players have when you don’t follow the “optimal build” these days is horrible. Unfortunately it’s been a part of MMOs for generations and it is only getting worse. I really hope it doesn’t steer you away from playing.
That said, hopefully the advice here will help you in understanding why hammers are not the best weapon for dungeons and fractals. If anything, it will encourage your to carry multiple weapons and switch out as needed. Don’t get rid of your hammer, just broaden your bag of tricks and have a few other builds ready. Since refunding traits is quick is painless, you can switch before a PUG and switch back afterwards in just a few seconds.
One thing that I notice that is not explained very well is the initial aggro some pets have vs others. You see mention on the wiki which pets make good tanks and you can see a little bit about aggro, but there is very little on which pets actually hold aggro by design. There are a few forum posts with different theories and problems such as this post from a year ago and even farther back is this other post. There have been a number of changes since then.
After some testing, Canine, Porcine, Ursine and Devourer pets have a much higher aggro on initial engagement. You can test this by sending in a pet to attack (F1) and then standing right next to the target. If you send in a bird, cat, or other pet the mob will turn to attack you. I’ve used this tactic to kite various mobs around while my pet whittles down the mob while I run around, eventually kill off the mob. The pet never got aggro and all I had to do was move.
I also suspect that this doesn’t have anything to do with the initial “hit” as it does with the initial aggro itself. On several tests, the mob runs right past me and straight to my pet. I also have not tested every mob so some creatures may react differently. Dungeons also may behave separately.
What are your experiences with this? Does anyone have any extensive testing with pet aggro?
Kesslar, sword/sword rifle for PVE is just fine. You don’t have to be a condi build and since your roleplaying, whatever is fun for you will be better than any build you find here. Personally, a 0/6/4/2/2 build works for me and I have no problems. If you want to get into WvW or PvP, you’ll want a more optimal build.
