I get 30-60 in normal areas and dungeons, but in WvW and LA I get about 15 or less average…
So, besides upgrading my cpu, there is nothing I can do to fix the issue??I run my 8120FX on Turbo Mode, have OC’d GPU, all on fine temperatures and still get bad framerates with low/medium settings? Not to mention that in the past I never had similar problems, fps was dropping a bit, yeah, but not that big like now

I will probably try to get temperatures just a little bit lower, is there an on-screen program that shows your CPU and gpu usage, as well temperatures?I would like to know if there is any other out there to run some tests
Anyway, conclusion is, I won’t change my CPU just because ArenaNet forces me to. I am not an AMD fanboy, neither an Intel hater, but theese CPU’s should have very little differences in gaming, either if it’s CPU based or GPU based. What matters is that this game isn’t built properly for an AMD CPU and this causes the AMD CPU’s to fall back in performance, forcing player to upgrade their CPU, even if it was not needed.
Well, is there any way to make my fps tolerable?I mean seriously I spent some money on this rig to play games, have played the most cpu and gpu demanding games and cannot run a ******** GW2?Is this real??
Whatever…It is just sad….In any cpu-based games I was running it fine and somehow, after a mysterious patch or tweak, gw2 forces me to upgrade my CPU to have CHANCE to get a little bit better frames per second….
I actualy unpacked cores as I mentioned, plus, this should never be a issue in games. I mean really, I have played Battlefield 3&4, Skyrim, Crysis 3 and had very nice fps with decent visuals, why should I actually upgrade my cpu to play a game like that??
It is really annoying that GW2 doesn’t use multiple threads for better optimisation, especially when this includes huge WvW fights and really crowded areas…..
Plus, I have been looking on the forums and encounter people with High end I7’s cpu’s that also have the same issue, and plus there is a program where you can see if your cpu bottlenecks your gpu and it doesn’t….

Hello there, I have been running GW2 quite smoothly once it came out, and when I recently got back into the game, I noticed bad framerates issues. I do not understand why this happens, but it mostly happens in WvW and Lion’s Arch. I updated my driver’s on the graphic’s card, unpacked my cpu’s cores, have a decent air flow on my computer but still have the same, low fps in theese areas.
My specs are :
AMD Fx 8120 3.1 ghz( I usually run it on Turbo Mode)
GeForce 550Ti OC
6GB Ram
Well, I am thinking of using a Hammer/Greatsword build with shouts, but I don’t know how well my durability will be.
Hello, I would like to know any good guardian builds best suited in WvW.I haven’t played guardian that much, so I don’t know how to play him and what to build on him
The build I am looking for would offer me the highest survivability in combats in WvW, meaning that I want my character to be Extremely tanky, having the highest possible health and toughness out of his build, including having some sort of condition removal.
This build should offer me the Highest health and Toughness a guardian can have.
Weapons:Anything melee, literally, I have seen some skills with Guardian’s weapons and so far I liked the hammer, how viable it really is in WvW?( I know I want a full tank build while asking for hammer , but I am thinking of a Hammer/Mace and Shield build that would give me great survivability)
As far as damage and Utility goes, I would like this build to be able to do some damage, even a little(instead of none), while having some kind of Stability and Condition removal to keep me fighting till I fall.
I would also like if you told me the Traits and Skills that fit this playstyle, and it’s pros and cons.
I am sorry for the high numbers of questions I ask, but I haven’t really played Guardian that much and I love that class. Thanks a lot for reading this!!
Hello, I would like to hear some opinions about a rifle build that I use on WvW and so far, it has never dissapointed me:
The build that I use is a Power Precision and Critical Damage build, further increasing theese with boons via Alchemy. As for the weapon, the Rifle corresponds best to my playstyle and to this build, because it benefits from power and crits the most. For skills, I use Elixir B, Elixir U and Elixir S to boost up my overall damage output and to keep me alive throughout the fights or help me escape. As for the Ultimate, I enjoy the damage and utility the Supply Crate provides, as it’s the best Ultimate skill to use on the Engineer. Also, 99% of the times, I use Elixir H as my heal skill.
For Traits, I go 0/30/10/30/0, utilizing skills like rifle damage and range, increased boon duration and reduced elixirs recharge rate
Playstyle: Before a zerg fight starts, I usually throw all Elixirs, gaining multiple boons for me and my allies while also gaining might from traits. Once the enemies front line is in range of Supply Crate, I immediately use it. Once several enemies begin rushing, I pop Elixir U and Elixir B and start shooting at them.Piercing shots enable me to damage multiple enemies, while Quickiness and the boons from all Elixirs make me always Fury, Might and other boons. When I see ranged enemies get close(or when I attack), I throw Elixir U to get that field, protecting me from ranged attacks. As for melee classes getting near me, I randomly throw Net Shot and then hit Blunderbuss for AOE bleed and high damage. Occassionally, when I see that they are not wiping us, I also use Jump Shot where I stand, hitting multiple enemies and applying vulnerability to them
Quick note: When throwing Elixir B gives Stability,I do not hesitate to use my 4th skill, pushing back foes( if they don’t have stability), while maintaining my ground.
Pros:
High Burst
High Dps
Long Range
Good Utility, as it helps teammates
Piercing attacks
Good mobility
Strong Escape potential
High damage to Lords
Low Cooldown on Heal
2 stunbreakers
Cons:
Low dmg output with conditions
Low condition durations
Less Aoe than other engineer builds
Low Health and Toughness
Low damage to gates
Not so great on taking camps solo
No condition removal skill
P.S. Alternatively, when I feel that I can go a little bit more aggressive and 1v1
I use Utility Googles over Elixir S, and pick the trait instead that automatically uses it on Low Health. That offers me more Fury, while applying 10 stacks of invlulnerability to enemies. I usually run this when I skirmish in WvW, as this enables me to 1v1 almost any class in any situation if times properly(Stun Break)
Also, to take camps solo, I switch to Thumper Turret, Flame Turret and Missile(rocket) Turret, which keep mobs away while I Hit them hard.
I would like to hear your thoughts on this one and also suggest me a good Engineer Build on soloing camps easily in WvW.
Here is what about my build is now…Any other condition damage builds (without dual pistols) are accepted.
