Do you still gain mastery exp while you level a new character or do I have to get to 80 again before I can start gaining mastery exp?

I’d also like to join. I just reached 80 a couple of days myself. I really want to try doing fractals but I’m too scared join any lfg groups. I used to raid in WoW so I might know a thing or two about not standing on fire or dodging hits, well of course this is a totally different game but you get the idea. Thanks in advance! So I just hit level 80 and I kinda don’t know how to get gear at the moment. I’m currently watching videos on how to get exotic and ascended gear so I would at least know where to start.

Anyway, I heard getting ascended accessories are pretty easy but it takes a lot of time. From what I’ve read in the wiki there are other ways to get them but I couldn’t understand a single thing except for using laurels. Could anyone explain it to me further on how to get them other than using laurels?

I’m new to the game and I’m only a few levels to 80 so please help me out

I tried googling it but I couldn’t find an answer. I saw a video of an elementalist with a D/WH raiding so I assume that’s what I should go for? I also read somewhere that I should use a staff instead but that post was a little outdated. So what weapon should I use for general PVE content?

Thank you but I’m in a US server. Just joined a group that was only doing story mode, they were kind enough to show me around. It was very fun and had tons of loots and exp. My only regret is that I could’ve watched all the cut scenes but I don’t want to slow my group.

When I tried joining a group in the lfg panel they said something about zerking only or whatever. Since then I never bothered joining one.

I think I’ll just level normally and then when I’m missing a few levels I’ll just do the mist thingy to make up for it.

I’m new to this game and so far I’m having a blast much much better than WoW in my opinion. My only issue is that the zones doesn’t give enough exp. For example, I started Harathi hinterlands at level 35 and when I completed everything I only got to up to level 41ish. It says that this zone is from 35-kitten now I don’t know what to do. I could go to the next zones but I think the mobs are a little strong for me.

So my question is, does it matter if I level in low level zones? I noticed that you scale depending on the area so I’m assuming I could get the same exp in a low level zone or are there any penalties like reduce exp or something?

Btw is it ok to level in edge of the mist till 80? Will I miss out anything important if I level in zones? When I tried it I was getting tons of exp and its quite fun.
